Although the home fries are very delicious, I really wish the restaurant would stop using styrofoam containers

Although the home fries are very delicious, I really wish the restaurant would stop using styrofoam containers for hot food. Not only is the styrofoam toxic when it's heated but it's disappointing when you open your takeout bag and are greeted with a giant hole at the bottom of the container with everything spewing out . I received a breakfasts meal carryout as a gift over years ago and I thought the food was ok but never made a purchase directly from the the restaurant. Since it's been almost impossible to get a decent meal from anywhere I finally made my why to this familiar place. The restaurant is extremely small and only has about 5 booths and 5 tables. Service was fast and the food was very delicious. We purchased a western omelette and kids meal ( pancakes with fresh strawberry). All the items including the hash browns were cooked well. I would definitely recommend this place and return to eat in or carry out.

Cinnamon Bun Pancakes. Omg. Just get them. Seriously.

We are trying a bunch of breakfast restaurants in SE Detroit and came across this place. It's small, but clean. Very friendly staff. The food was amazing! You get a lot for your money, the food has so much flavor and we WILL be making this a regular spot to enjoy breakfasts.

Omelette loaded with gyro, spinach and feta, with country potatoes and tzatziki sauce.

I generally avoid long lines, whether at stores or restaurants. That might explain why it took so long to get to Biscuits and Gravy, a brunch place I had on my radar for years. Everything looked good as I scrolled through the photos on Yelp (cinnamon swirl pancakes, red velvet pancakes, waffles, crab bennies) so I did not have a plan going in. But one thing was certain, I intended to have the biscuits and gravy. It is the name of the restaurant and I have loved this dish from the first time I had it. I was lucky that by the time I entered, the brunch crowd had moved on and a table had opened up. This is another good thing about taking care of my household chores before heading out for nourishment. In addition to the biscuits and gravy, I wanted something savory and healthy-ish so I went with the Greek skillet, which included eggs, gyro meat, spinach, diced tomatoes, onions, and feta. The skillet also had country-style potatoes, generally not my favorite but good here, and a biscuit. Usually, I also try to order something sweet as a side, like a pancake so there is a variety of flavors to try However, this wasn't on the menu so I went without. I added a side of pork gravy, which I don't often indulge in. The meal was tasty and incredibly filling and somewhat healthy, except for the carbs. I was only a third of the way in before reaching the full point so I have plenty of food for the next day. Incidentally, the server was fantastic. She was friendly, quick, and on the ball. This is a solid place for brunch but be aware that it is very small, so pack your patience.

This is one of mine favorite restaurants to come eat breakfast. I am never disappointed. My daughter and I tried the Belgium waffles out this time instead of our normal go-to breakfast. She got the bacon cheddar waffle and I got the cinnamon swirl one. It was so delicious. We also got their potatoes pancakes which are very good too! My family and I love this place so much. We come here frequently. If you haven't visited yet, shame on you!!! Lol The waitress was very nice and so pleasant to be around! If you come here on the weekends there is usually a wait. But it is totally worth the wait! The ambiance is very nicely decorated as well. There has not been anything I haven't loved yet! You can't go wrong here, the prices are great for how much food you get!

This is what you get when you order to go I'm impressed. It's as good as sitting in. The portions are good too. The cashier was nice and sorry for the all caps my girl said that's just how the system submits it. And as always it was very calm in the restaurant.

So kind and so funny and very helpful on my selection. It's a clean restaurant and I mean very clean. They have about 10 tables to sit down and enjoy your food. Do you see how big this bowl aka BOX is?!? I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and it might be one of the best chickens I have had. It was tender and full of proper flavor. The toppings were fresh as well. They top it with garlic and I like it. Their garlic has a kick to it so you know it's freshly made. Their menu has a good selection of different things to order. So there's something that everyone will definitely love. They also make smoothies. They specifically in a Afrikano style which is more spicy. I wasn't feeling spicy today, but I'll definitely come next time to try it. I'm glad I finally gave this place and try and will most definitely be back to try more food.

So, in addition to stocking up on meat pies, spinach pies, and cheese manaeesh (flatbread) I also ordered lunch! They have a variety of sandwich pita wraps, manaeesh with a variety of different toppings, a few dinner plates, and the manau-wich, which is a wrapped sandwich made with their cheese manaeesh instead of pita. I ended up going with the chicken shawarma version of that and it was really good! Pretty rich with all that extra cheese but very good! I got the combo which also included a drink and fries, making it a hearty meal, especially for lunch. The sandwich was pretty good size, too, and could easily make two meals given how hearty it was. There's a bit of seating inside so waiting for my order was comfortable but I could see it filling up quickly during lunch rush. I think I'd most likely do takeout. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and patient with me as I got myself familiar with their menu. Would definitely make my way back here for a bite, some baked goods to go, or both! PS--for a larger baked good selection come earlier in the day, I got the meat pies I wanted but I definitely cleaned them out.

The majority of the Middle Eastern restaurants in the city have been Lebanese or Yemeni, but now I am pleased to say that we finally have our own Iraqi restaurant nestled in a small space off Lilley and Ford Rd. The most famous dish that you can find in an Iraqi restaurant is their version of kabob, which is similar to Lebanese kafta but with less ingredients and more fat. I made sure to order a mixed chicken and beef kebab entree which came with a choice of two sides (I chose fries and lentil soup). I also got a large order of fattoush salad to round up everything. The soup, fries and salad were all very good, but they were nothing outstanding or out of the norm from what I am used to. The kabobs on the other hand were absolutely phenomenal and I could tell they were going to be amazing when I opened the lid and caught the aroma of the meats. They were absolutely full of flavor and super tender. Before taxes and tip I think I paid around $35 for all this including some pita bread on the side. It's not bad, but the salad was definitely overpriced and not nearly as "large" as it could have been. Despite this minor grievance the restaurant is very nice inside, the staff are welcoming and the menu is quite easy to navigate and not filled with clutter. The Canton area would greatly benefit from hole in the walls like this place.

To enter the building from the side entrance you have to cut through the drive though line. This doesn't make any sense and it is a safety concern. Most of the time they do not close the doors to their rubbish corral. This creates a bad blind spot while crossing the road in back of the building. I was lucky to score a parking spot directly outside the restaurant, but I noticed that there is a private lot behind it. There was a line at around 9, as expected, but it moved quickly. I felt welcomed as soon as I entered. Was it the small size? The convivial and family-oriented atmosphere? The friendly servers? The brunch menu includes the usuals, Benedicts, omelettes, pancakes, and waffles, as well as house specials. I typically go for Benedicts because I've never mastered poaching eggs. And if I see crab cakes or lobster, I know immediately what to get. So, of course, the Crab Cake Benedict grabbed my attention. It came with country potatoes, grits, or tomatoes. Incidentally, the country potatoes were the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the crab cake was just too breaded for my liking. I also went with a biscuit and some country gravy--thumbs up for both. I'd definitely love to see a little more consistency between visits! The service was great both times, and sitting on the patio was such a nice addition to the experience. A few things I'd also love to see are more drink options, including more flavors and specialty coffee options, as well as decaf espresso and a bigger selection of pop.
