I was happily surprised by Biscotti, tucked away in the corner of sleepy Conneaut. The staff are extremely friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is delicious. I ate there twice and was treated to some of the best Italian wedding soup I've ever had, superb bruchetta, a wonderfully seasoned chicken Parmesan, and a tasty Alfredo dish. From my brief stay in town, it would appear that Biscotti is one of the few "real" restaurants in a sea of diners and pizza joints. How lucky, then, that it's a great one. Biscotti's does a great job at finer Italian dining in Conneaut. In a city short on nicer dining establishments, Biscotti's is prized as a restaurant you know you can go and have a special meal in a relatively more upscale atmosphere. Service is always very good, and the food is always tasty and fresh. I like their stuffed mushroom appetizers best, and I often order a simple pasta dish tossed with olive oil or basic marinara. Their wine is good, and their bread is wonderful. It's all I really want out of a cozy, Italian restaurant sitting above Lake Erie. read more

biscottis is amazing. I have been there twice and the service is amazing staff is amazing. I am in love with their homemade Alfredo sauce so good. This is my most favorite Italian restaraunt! The service is warm and hospitable; the wines are local and delicious; and the food is so full of flavor. I don't eat pork and they were very helpful to point out the dishes without pork, even going back to the kitchen to double-check items they were unsure about. My husband is vegetarian and they were very accomodating allowing him to add vegetables to the chicken alfredo (and of course, not add the chicken at all). The food here is authentic and fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint, perfect for date night or even for a large family gathering at a larger table or in the back room. Excellent meals. I couldn't decide between the chicken bruschetta and bow tie pasta with shrimp so the waitress suggested adding the bruschetta to the shrimp and pasta. It was delicious! During our first night stay at Covered Bridge BnB we decided to try Biscotti's Italian restaurant. Fairly busy for a Wednesday evening so I recommend making reservations. My wife had the Medallions Gorgonzola Alfredo w/mushrooms and I had the Fettuccini Alfredo w/mushrooms. Both were delicious. One of the best Alfredo sauces I ever tasted and the mushrooms melted in your mouth. Service was very good. My wife had the Ferranti Rosso wine and was very pleased with her choice (a sweeter red wine). Overall a very good experience. read more

Excellent locally owned and operated restaurant. Has a great cozy atmosphere and the food is out of this world. Their chicken fettuccine alfredo is the best there is. The salads have a unique taste with the dressing and mix of nuts and such in them. They also feature a locally wine selection. Definitely recommend reservations especially if you have a large party. They are kid friendly with a reasonable kids menu. Meal prices are on the high end, but well worth it. read more

From out of town and searching for a quality Italian place. Everyone in my group including myself were blown away by the excellence of the meal. The service was friendly and extremely accommodating to us. They were brought excellent bread to the table for us while we were waiting for our appetizers. We ordered the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer and it was great as well. Their sauce, which was served with many of our meals and the appetizer, was fantastic. Very flavorful without being overwhelming and drowning out the rest of the meal. My group were all looking for more cost efficient meals, but we all enjoyed them very much, and were full at the end of the meal. We had take out one night and was disappointed in the menu online. It was not updated so we had to spend even more for our food.. The portions for the price were small. Let me just preface this review and say, this was not my first experience here, and the wait staff is always very pleasant and attentive. Not recommended for steak. Choices are as follows: $18 for a 3oz fillet (not sure why this is even offered), $29 for 2 of the 3 oz fillets, or $24 for an 8oz delmonico. No other cut is offered. As I was in the mood for for a little more than 3 to 6 oz of steak, I chose the delmonico. What a mistake. This steak was mostly inedible due to the tremendous amount of fat. I am well aware that delmonico is not a lean cut, and is in fact marbled with fat, but, this steak was extremely fatty. I would have been ashamed to serve it. Reminds me of the steak Ponderosa used to serve for $1 extra with their buffet. Over all, huge disappointment, and a poor value to say the least. read more

While I understand the town was packed for D-Day Ohio and service might be off, the service and food this evening were just a little too off. As reenactors, we try to patronize the local establishments, we were deeply disappointed in our experience at Biscotti's on Saturday evening. We had reservations (last year we tried to have dinner here but were turned away as we did not have a reservation - understandable) and were taken into a back room that was obviously not part of the original restaurant. We were seated and were told our waitress would be right with us, (I looked around, and approximately half of the tables in this room were empty as well as several table in the main room that we passed on our way to the back room). After a few minutes, a gentleman came up to our table and told us our waitress would be along shortly and could he take our drink order, ok, understandable and that was fine. However, when it was another ten minutes before our waitress made it to our table, that was stretching it a little. Chalking up the poor service to being busy, we went ahead and ordered our entrees, the wife ordered the Penne Pasta & Four Cheeses and added shrimp, I ordered a pasta dish off the specials menu, Langostinos in a diablo/Cajun sauce. When the food was served, again it was by the gentleman who took our order, he was more attentive than our waitress, I only hope he receives a good portion of her tips as he did most of the work for her. Both dishes looked good, but both suffered from being rather bland. The wife's Penne Pasta & Four Cheeses with shrimp could have come from any number of casual/fast chain restaurants as there was nothing about it to make it stand out. My Langostinos in diablo sauce was ok, if your idea of diablo and/or Cajun (why they insist on using both of those terms to describe the spice of this dish is beyond me) means you simply dump a small amount of hot pepper powder into the sauce and call it done. The sauce was almost tasteless, I could have been eating a boring alfredo sauce out of a jar and it would have tasted the same, the amount of shellfish was the only real positive for this dish. When I see Diablo or Cajun, I expect the food to be spiced thoroughly and properly, I expect it to "pop" in my mouth, sadly, this dish failed on all aspects (Stouffers has much better frozen foods than this). Bottom line, the wait for the food was long - if you are on a schedule with somewhere to be, definitely go very early, we arrived at 7:30, and did not receive our food until almost 8:15. As for the service, the gentleman who took our beverage order and delivered our food, outstanding person, our waitress; too interested in joking around with the boisterous folks behind us (probably regulars, understandable to give them excellent service, but not at the expense of other patrons who might become regulars) to even be bothered to refill our non-alcoholic (no extra tip money on free refills) beverages. Had the food been of "to die for" quality, I could overlook the lengthy wait, and chalked up the bad service to one poor waitress, but sadly, the food also missed the mark for us. read more

We traveled to Biscotti's as our friend told us it was great. No disrespect to our friend, but we didn't know what to expect because everyone has a different taste (especially with Italian food). Needless to say, "great" wasn't the word!!!!! It was GREAT!!!! From the moment we walked in the door we felt at home and were treated like royalty. I'm not kidding. Could and should have been much, much better for the $175 tab. This is a (surprisingly) well-respected (because of lack of any competition), local-to-Conneaut, up-scale restaurant. Have dined here in the past and was underwhelmed both times, but chalked it up to bad luck. This third time was the "charm." Made reservations for a family dinner at 6:30. Arrived at 6:25. Had to wait 20 minutes to be seated in the horribly cramped "foyer" because, apparently, the hostess has no idea what reservations are for. And as everyone know's who's been here, the whole restaurant needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. The haphazard add-ons over the years have made the interior more like a multi-level crazy maze than a well-planned, professional eating establishment. At any rate, once we were finally sat, we had to wait another 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. And, candidly, it was nothing special. Had the sausage stuffed peppers for an appetizer. Very anemic peppers. I like 'em spicy, but these were gringo-bland. Also had a pair of 3 oz medallions for the entrée. If they had been sautéed in anything or prepared in anyway, it was impossible to tell. Just cooked meat. The garlic mashed potatoes also were unexciting. Too be sure, the food was not bad in the sense of food poisoning, but certainly was not upscale or notable, especially for the price. The quality of the cooking I'd expect at Applebee's. The poor layout and lack of organization of the place (they had a trainee helping at the front desk who was openly complaining he didn't know what to do) just made the overall experience a particularly unattractive, overpriced gastronomic debacle. If you want quality upscale food, there's Rennick's in the Ashtabula Harbor. Biscotti's third try was, at least for me and my family, a strike out. read more
