Not the place I would go to for a detailed mix drink. Stick with your Jack & Coke and Beer here. The inside hasn't changed in 20 years. Though it's not bad, it just feels dated. Very large bar area for seating, the dining room is on the smaller side though. If you're claustrophobic, please do not utilize the restrooms, you nearly have to walk into them sideways. If you're in the mood for pizza this is a great place. If you're in the mood for anything other than pizza, this is not a great place. Their hours on their food always seem to be strange. I've never seen another business that has specific hours of a cheese burger or pasta. Pizza will be served all day though. They're primary focus is pizza both carry out and delivery and they do that very well. Nice small restaurant and bar on a Main Street in a small Ohio town. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. It was a little cramped but that's a good sign that people enjoy the place. It definitely has small town feel. Everybody seemed to know each other. The food was really good and they specialize in pizzas and Stromboli's. The prices are fair. The dressing on my salad tasted like it was made in house. Really tangy and full of flavor. I had a Stromboli and the crust was crusty and homemade. The cheese was gooey and the sauce that came with it to dip in was thick and homemade as well. My partner had a toasted Italian sub and it was perfectly made. It was a little noisy but we were there at peak dinner time. There is a full bar as well. If we lived closer, we would be regulars but even though we live about 40 minutes away, we will be back. read more

Conneaut sure does love pizza! out of 20 restaurants in town 17 are pizza shops. However, if, and I mean, IF i wanted to have a pizza, The Rainbow cafe is were I would go. They also make Stromboli's, I still don't think I know the difference, but apparently a very popular item, and they are good. I prefer the crunchy crust of their pizza. They also have a nice variety of toppings, including roasted peppers, which I love on my pizza. They offer a full bar and mostly just sell pizza and liquor. They have sandwiches and salads also, but I have not been to impressed with them. If your in Conneaut, and you want to have a quick meal, I think it will serve its purpose. read more

We were at the Rainbow Cafe the other night for the Monday night pizza special. However, to our dismay, there were Drain Flies everywhere. The flies were on the walls and flying around our table. It was disgusting! We had to cover our drinks to stop them landing there. Additionally, the beer was Not Cold!! We did not want to make a scene that evening as we were at Rainbow Cafe with another party. However,my husband called the manager the next morning and explained that they were aware of the Drain Flies and were embarrassed. My husband is very knowledgeable in this area and told her their pest control company should be able to get rid of the drain flies and surprised that it had not been done. As the number of flies indicated this was not a new problem and was out of control. The manager did not offer anything for future visits. As much as the place has good pizza, we won't be going back until they have these issues resolved. read more

Stopped in at the Rainbow Cafe on our way to Youngstown, Ohio to visit a friend. We were NOT greeted by any of the employees and had to guess what to do next. We found an empty table and proceeded to sit down. We waited another 10 minutes before a waitress acknowledged our presence. We then had to wait another 5 minutes before we were given menus. Our waitress proceeded to tell us it will "be a while" before she could take care of us. Apparently another waitress went home Ill........sorry, not our problem. So far it's been 25 minutes and we finally got our drink orders in.....We did eventually order our dinner. My wife and I ordered a bowl of pasta and beans soup....should have been called GARLIC with beans and pasta.....was overpowering. We went during the lenten season but they didn't offer any seafood at all.......I ordered a Stromboli with vegetables and my wife had a salad. Our grandson had a Rainbow Sub......he was unimpressed, and he likes everything.....my Stromboli was dry, and the side of marinara sauce was cold......The other patrons were rude and loud and the overall ambience was not friendly and not inviting......The dark haired waitress was pleasant, however, the lighter haired waitress was not. I don't even know where to begin. I saw the Rainbow Cafe while driving with my wife and made a mental note to try it later. So, tonight while my wife was working I decide to give it a try. I ride my motorcycle from Cleveland to Conneaut a distance of over 50 miles to go there and immediately get a strange vibe the moment I walk in. The couple waiting for a table ahead of me gets seated and I'm standing there not being noticed. After an awkward wait I decide to find a seat at the bar. I find a spot that still hasn't been cleaned from the last person. I shove the dirty dishes aside and wait for the girl working the bar. And, I wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more. Finally, a lady throws a bottle of Bud Light in front of me and I give her a confused look. "Didn't you want another one?" She asks. I realize that an empty from the previous patron is in front of me and I tell her that it isn't mine. She gives me a disgusted look and starts to take it away. At this point I know its the only service I am going to receive so I tell her to leave it. She tells the girl behind the bar not to charge me who finally clears the dirty dishes. At no time does she ask me if I need anything or whether I want to see a menu. I see a menu nearby and grab it thinking that it will signal that I want to place an order. I sit there, menu in hand, and...nothing. I never get asked if I want to place an order so I eventually throw the menu back where I found it. By now my stomach is rumbling and my beer is running out. At this point it is clear that I'm being ignored. "How is that Bud Light?" the lady asks as she walks by. I tell her it is fine. Does she ask if I need another one? Nope. Actually, it was piss warm and not what I wanted. Eventually, it runs out and I sit there knowing I'm not going to be served so I finally leave. I then rode back to Cleveland on an empty stomach.
