I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best Indian food I've ever had! I've eaten my fair share of Indian food in several states and Canada and this was the best, most authentic food I've had. We arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't completely full but that soon changed with several families coming in right after us. The restaurant is on the smaller side, clean and decorated well. We went on a Saturday night and ordered off of their special weekend menu. We definitely over ordered. There were 3 of us and we had enough leftovers for a full meal the next day. We ordered the masala cheese dosai, butter chicken, nalli gosht biryani and malai lamb chops. The nalli gosht is the goat shank biryani, we got the order for 2 people, it comes with 2 goat shanks on a mountain of fluffy fragrant basmati rice. The goat was tender falling off the bone, seasoned to perfection in a spicy masala paste/sauce. We got it at level one spice but it tasted spicer. We didn't mind because the spice just added to the flavor. It was so good! We also got the usual butter chicken which turned out to be not so usual because like everything else we tried, the spice combo and depth of flavor just turned it up several notches. The masala cheese dosai was a great start to the meal and was fun to eat with our hands. The lamb chops were a last minute addition and so worth it. The chops were cooked perfectly in a flavorful sauce and served with a veggie slaw. Overall, we LOVED everything we tried and would definitely recommend Biryani Hub. The only suggestion we have would be to serve cold water or offer ice. Our waiter brought a bottle of water to the table with glasses but the water was more room temp. I would have given a 4 because the food is good, so is the quantity and even the pricing is reasonable. Ambience not so much, looks like a run down shack from the outside. But what I did not appreciate is the customer service or lack of it, 2-3 people who look very unfriendly and don't want to be there. They were glued to the TV most of the time. Came here for dinner a little after 6pm. The food was good however we were disappointed with the service and especially our server. We ordered appetizers and then we wanted to wait to order dinner. The waiter was taken aback and said usually our people eat dinner later, because we are Indian he was making a bit of a racist remark and an assumption. It was inappropriate and rude. Then he basically forced us to order dinner right then and there. Then when we had barely touched the appetizers all of the food came out. When this happened we told the waiter we didn't want all of the food right away and that we were disappointed. He just looked at us and smirked. It's not even like the restaurant was very busy, there were plenty of open tables as you can see in my photos. When we left all of the waiters were standing in the front talking. I visited yesterday, and when I walked in, there was a sign that said, "Please wait to be seated." I waited until a staff member signaled for me to go ahead. I then chose a table for four, even though I was dining alone, because I wanted a little more space. It was clear that the staff member was not happy with my choice. If that was an issue, it would have been helpful if I had been guided to a different table instead of being signaled to seat myself. The food was okay, but during my visit, I noticed the same staff member making comments about me to another server, which did not seem polite or professional. The biryani here isn't just food--it's an emotional experience. I took one bite and swear I heard a Bollywood soundtrack start playing in the distance. Somewhere, a slow-motion hair flip happened. The chicken biryani was so good I almost proposed to it. Perfectly spiced, tender chicken, and rice so fluffy it could be used as a pillow in a luxury spa. I cried a little. This place is a hidden gem! Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food is top notch! We've been a few times now and I have loved it every time. In Norfolk for a work trip and had to find somewhere to eat at 9pm on a Sunday night. Thankfully this place was open so decided to give it a try. Chicken Tikka masala curry was nice and creamy with lots of meat. Worker convinced me try the Chettinad curry with lamb. It was really tasty! A darker curry like Rogan Josh curry but with more herbs and flavor. Lots of meat as well. The best part is that they can make it actually very spicy! A lot of Indian restaurants don't make it spicy enough. Got me sweating! (They can also make it non spicy of course). I travel frequently for work and this is the first time a worker asked me if I wanted paper plates (Styrofoam) to go which was super considerate and convenient for me since I was eating in a hotel. They're like half bowl/plates so it keeps the curry in. My only complaint is that the garlic Naan didn't have enough garlic taste to it, and the Naan was a little thicker than I like. Had a late dinner here two nights ago while visiting Norfolk. We ordered the biryani boneless chicken and the chicken tikka masala. Both with Indian medium spicy level. Also ordered a side of garlic nann. It's my first time trying the biryani. I liked it. It was tasty with a nice fragrance. It had chunks of chicken. Came with yogurt and what looks like sesame sauce. It was light brown but didn't tase sesame. The biryani was pretty spicy but I liked that. The tikka masala was ok. I've had better it back home in SoCal where it was creamier and with more spices. The white plates slightly dusty seemingly due to being set on the table for some time and stainless steel spoon and fork wrapped in paper napkin secured by paper stickies were available. The onion pakora was slightly over-fried, dark brown with burnt edges. The mint chutney dip and tamarind dip were of good consistency, not watered down. The chicken tikka masala came with 5 bite sized chunks of (where's the) chicken? The broth was enough for dipping with naan. Speaking of naan, we ordered 2 portions, both of which were undercooked on the side where the garlic butter is smeared. Dal Makhani was okay, nothing memorable. The only reasons I wouldn't give 5 stars is that the chicken was just a tad bit tough and dry, which is weird since it's coated in so much sauce. The chicken biryani was excellent and I highly recommend it. It is a big portion and can probably feed two. Channa Masala was also very good. It came with white rice and was a good portion too. Highly recommend both. I ordered the garlic naan and the chefs specialty naan. Both were soggy and not very flavorful. The naan was also burnt on top and had many black burnt areas. I did have a friend also order garlic naan and she liked it. I do not plan on ordering naan from here again. Maxine from Grub Hub delivered my food and thankfully she is one of the few to add utensils to my delivery. I also had part of my order delivered by Door Dash and there was no utensils given. We ordered this for take out tonight, which it's my first time trying their food. I've seen them on the food delivery apps for awhile, I love Indian food! I usually go to my regular place in Norfolk and at the last minute decide to try this place. We ordered three entrees and some Garlic Naan. Where do I start... upon opening my food I could tell the smell was very different than what I'm used to when eating Indian food, and not a good smell. I started plating and noticed the paneer saag and Butter Chicken masala were both very soupy consistency. I'm used to a thicker sauce. The butter chicken was drenched in this soupy sauce and some of the driest chicken I have ever tasted. It didn't make sense how dry this chicken tasted. The sauce was also sweet, which I did not like, I ordered it "Indian medium spicy" and it did not taste spicy to me. My daughter's boneless chicken biryani looked and smelt better than the other two dishes. The rice in her dish was good, the egg was over boiled, the chicken was a cheap cut of meat. One of the bite was all cartilage or a knuckle, it was super gross because I was not expecting it. The garlic naan did not taste fresh, it was flat , falling apart and hard (not like crispy hard, like stale hard). I don't like just mentioning only the negative, the positives are that the rice for both dishes were cooked perfectly, fluffy and delicious. Overall my experience was very unsatisfactory. I wouldn't be willing to try eating there again, but I hope that this feedback helps them make positive change. *Update* the owner reached out to me personally to make this situation better.
