Biryani Hub Delivers a Flavorful Introduction to Authentic Indian Cuisine I finally made my way to Biryani Hub for lunch, conveniently located at 5745 Virginia Beach Boulevard, tucked just behind the Waffle House. For weekday diners, the restaurant offers a smart selection of combination platters--an ideal entry point for anyone looking to explore a range of traditional Indian dishes in a single sitting. I chose the Chicken Platter ($15), which features three distinct preparations, two generously sized pieces of naan, and a dessert to round out the meal. It's a well-structured offering that balances variety with portion size. The standout was the Chicken Dum (bone-in), prepared in the traditional dum style--slow-cooked and sealed to lock in flavor. The result is deeply aromatic, rich, and layered in a way that feels unmistakably royal. This is not rushed food; it's deliberate, composed, and worthy of the word "luxury." Equally impressive was the Special Chicken (boneless)--tender pieces marinated in a proprietary blend of spices, then cooked with fragrant basmati rice in layered fashion. Each bite carried trapped aromas that unfolded gradually, delivering both depth and balance without overwhelming the palate. One detail worth noting: the clearly defined spice scale (1-7). I selected level 4, labeled "Indian Mild." While approachable, it still carried a noticeable heat--enough to remind you that you're experiencing authentic seasoning rather than a toned-down version. Too often, restaurants rely on heat for its own sake--spice without structure. That's not the case here. At Biryani Hub, the heat is deliberate, built into layered flavor profiles that are difficult to fully describe and far better experienced firsthand. What stood out most was the depth of flavor across the board. Each dish brought its own identity, with spices working in harmony rather than competing for attention. For those already familiar with Indian cuisine--or anyone curious to step into it--Biryani Hub is a worthwhile stop. It's the kind of place that rewards exploration while supporting a local business doing things the right way.

I'm not much of an Indian food expert so I will just say what I like: the gobi Manchurian. It was my favorite dish and I will definitely get it again. Service was slow but it looked like there is only two people waiting tables, answering phones, and taking care of take out orders. When they brought us the take out containers, I had to specifically ask for the sauce containers as well.

Biryani Hub was a 5/5 experience with authentic flavors. The egg biryani was excellent and our top recommendation over the malai kofta. We appreciated that peanut curry and raita were included, and our server, Harish, was friendly and accommodating. The spice level is authentic, so expect some heat. Bring cash for a 10% discount.

Food is good but service has gone down, tried to charge me an additional 80$ with random stuff added to my bill that I never added. Would have charged me if I said nothing.

Came here for dinner a little after 6pm. The food was good however we were disappointed with the service and especially our server. We ordered appetizers and then we wanted to wait to order dinner. The waiter was taken aback and said usually our people eat dinner later, because we are Indian he was making a bit of a racist remark and an assumption. It was inappropriate and rude. Then he basically forced us to order dinner right then and there. Then when we had barely touched the appetizers all of the food came out. When this happened we told the waiter we didn't want all of the food right away and that we were disappointed. He just looked at us and smirked. It's not even like the restaurant was very busy, there were plenty of open tables as you can see in my photos. When we left all of the waiters were standing in the front talking. I think they just didn't want us to stay for that long I don't know. Even though the food was good I'd rather go somewhere else where we aren't treated so badly. Based on glancing at other reviews the waiters are just rude so I guess it's nothing abnormal here

Great service and great food! First off, definitely do not judge this restaurant by its cover! The outside and location of this place was a little sketchy but once you step in, it's completely different! Service was simple and easy, food came out fresh and hot! By hot, I mean real spice! Definitely watch their spice levels, we ordered the "American Medium" and we were sweating!

Perfect for takeout to eat in a hotel because they offered takeout plates! Very good Chettinad Lamb Curry and Chicken Masala

In Norfolk for a work trip and had to find somewhere to eat at 9pm on a Sunday night. Thankfully this place was open so decided to give it a try. Chicken Tikka masala curry was nice and creamy with lots of meat. Worker convinced me try the Chettinad curry with lamb. It was really tasty! A darker curry like Rogan Josh curry but with more herbs and flavor. Lots of meat as well. The best part is that they can make it actually very spicy! A lot of Indian restaurants don't make it spicy enough. Got me sweating! (They can also make it non spicy of course). I travel frequently for work and this is the first time a worker asked me if I wanted paper plates (Styrofoam) to go which was super considerate and convenient for me since I was eating in a hotel. They're like half bowl/plates so it keeps the curry in. My only complaint is that the garlic Naan didn't have enough garlic taste to it, and the Naan was a little thicker than I like. But not a bid deal. Oh, and you also get 15% off if you use cash!

Wish I could give more stars since the service was great - we were greeted as soon as we entered, we indicated we wanted to sit in the back area and they accommodated us wanting a booth so we can seat comfortably on their cushioned bench and have elbow room to spread out. Tap Water bottle was already filled with 4 wine glasses on the table. They removed the extra place settings. The white plates slightly dusty seemingly due to being set on the table for some time and stainless steel spoon and fork wrapped in paper napkin secured by paper stickies were available. The onion pakora was slightly over-fried, dark brown with burnt edges. The mint chutney dip and tamarind dip were of good consistency, not watered down. The chicken tikka masala came with 5 bite sized chunks of (where's the) chicken? The broth was enough for dipping with naan. Speaking of naan, we ordered 2 portions, both of which were undercooked on the side where the garlic butter is smeared. Dal Makhani was okay, nothing memorable. The rice was dry and didn't taste fresh. The parking lot isn't well lit, maybe would get better turnout if it doesn't seem closed all the time.

Well, we were really surprised with this one! Ordered a large with extra cheese and half pepperoni. This place knows how to do extra cheese! The crust was super flavorful and was definitely foldable. We were also fans of the sauce - not too sweet like lots of places do. We rounded out the meal with a side salad and a side Caesar. Both were super fresh and while the dressings didn't taste homemade, they were still flavorful. We'll definitely be ordering from here again!

Now let me preface this with the fact that there are LOTS of pizzerias in the area called Sal's. And I don't think they share ownership. Possibly many take their name from the popular Sal's on Pleasure House Road that burned & never recovered, having lost their staff to a new closely located Sal's. So a Sal's is not alway's a Sal's. :). Not recognizing the address, I looked closer in the Yelp map. The location is Princess Ann Road in the first shopping center on the east side of the road after turning on PA from Newtown Road. The cross street is Parliament. The location must be new since I own rental property in the area and have never noticed it. The pizza was good. But having spent a lot of time in Brooklyn, I consider (with a few exceptions) that there is no pizza but true NY style. This pizza wasn't exactly that. We chose my Grandson's favorite Margarita Pie & my choice, Margarita Pie with black olives & mushroom. The two 14 inch pizzas were ample for the four of us. But the pizzas were definitely not foldable. And the crust rim around the pizza was thicker & didn't have the crunchy edge that I sometimes have to eat before sharing with the dogs who love and beg for pizza crust. But that said, the pizza wasn't bad. Part of the Margarita top had slid off onto the box. I've never seen that in a pizza delivery before and I've ordered many. I don't know if it was the fault of the delivery driver or the pizzeria. The menu was more varied than other Sal's, which. though unaffiliated, all seem identical. You'll find additions of Greek items rather than just the normal Italian fare. In the future I'll probably just stick with my standard Sal's for a true NY pizza. But those of you who aren't addicted to the style should give it a try.

The wind from an incoming rainstorm knocked over the giant inflatable chicken outside. I made up my mind right then and there to stop by for a visit one day. When I finally got around to giving it a try, I dined in and was only semi-pleased. The staff were very nice, as the district manager was there at the time. The chicken itself can get quite chewy and hard to bite. The sauce is OK at best. The fries leave a little to be desired. The spiciness levels are very noticeable when requested at high volumes. I like that they offer slices of pickles with everything you order. The bread isn't too bad, as long as it's not soggy. When you order one of the Mozzarella Cheese Planks, they give it to you in a little box with a cup of sauce, a slice of bread, and a couple of pickles. I was not expecting it to have such a presentation and I have to admit, the charming nature of it almost brought a tear to my eye. It was just about the cutest damn thing I've seen in a long time. I mean, who thinks enough to do that!? Just pure thoughtfulness, that's what it was! It is VERY loud inside and the music choices aren't great. The interior is very flashy and riddled with graffiti-styled "Art". The one on Battlefield is a little better food-wise, I have to say. Which is disappointing. Maybe I'll give this one another try in the future. I still feel bad for the giant inflatable chicken that fell over in the parking lot that night. A force of nature shouldn't hinder the efforts of plastic poultry that's just trying to get the word out about Hot Dave and his line of spicy offerings.

We looked at our bowl and it was clearly chicken shawarma. When we brought it up again, we were told the price difference was only $1. Another employee stepped in and claimed that build-your-own bowls don't include protein and that all protein is an extra charge. We explained that only certain protein options are upcharges (honey harissa chicken + steak and lamb) and asked her to ring the order up again to verify. After checking the register, she realized we were right and refunded the $3 difference. While we appreciate receiving the refund, it's concerning that the employees don't seem to have a basic understanding of their own menu and pricing. They both confidently gave incorrect information before taking a moment to verify the facts. Definitely check your receipts carefully to make sure you're being charged correctly. While we eventually received a refund, we had to dispute the charge multiple times before it was finally corrected. There was no apology--only arguments and repeated explanations for why the charge was supposedly correct. Hopefully management can provide additional training so employees are more familiar with the menu and pricing going forward.
