Tikka masala

We ordered takeout from Saffron. When we arrived the order was ready. I got the vegetarian tikka masala with naan. I thought I might miss the meat. But surprisingly I was fine without it. The sauce was good and I enjoyed the vegetables. There was some kind of tough stringy vegetable in it, which I have no idea what it was. But the carrots, potatoes, and peas were tasty and filling. I liked the naan as well. I'd return to try other meals. Check them out!!

This is genuinely my favorite food place ever! The staff is beyond incredible and very nice, and the food is divine. Every time I get a mango lassi, along with butter, chicken and garlic on, and I am not kidding you it is the best food I've ever had. Please come here!!

I absolutely love Indian cuisine so when the opportunity arose to try Saffron Indian Bistro, I gladly accepted. Even though this location is in the heart of Town Center, there are multiple parking garages in the area that allow for easy parking. Once we arrived, we were seated right away since it was pretty empty on a Tuesday evening. Our server, Isha, quickly greeted us and was super personable. We started with the Vegetable Samosas which were delicious especially with the dipping sauces, then we ordered the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan. I always choose the spice level at around a 2 because it gives the dish just enough kick without being overly spicy! The food was served fairly quickly and everything tasted great. The chicken was very tender, the spice level was perfect and both dishes were very flavorful. Isha stopped by fairly often to make sure we were enjoying our meals and even shared a few laughs with us. Once we finished, she encouraged us to try some dessert so we chose the Mango Kulfi. It tasted like a rich flavored sherbet, it was very good and I'm glad we tried something new. Overall, I would return in a heartbeat. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. I've passed by this restaurant for years and finally decided to stop in so if you're looking for a great, authentic Indian food, I encourage you to try them as well.

I have been ordering takeout from Saffron for 5 years now, and each time it never ceases to amaze me. The quality of the food here is thought out and performed in a perfect manner and they don't hold back from giving you the authentic spice levels that you desire! I have been to many different Indian restaurants in my life yet this one has earned my heart. I thank Saffron and all of its workers for giving me the service and extraordinary food I am able to enjoy there.

Cheese Naan

The food was delicious. The decor was welcoming. Bathroom clean and service attentive. I would've given 4.5 stars (my chai wasn't hot) but my husband said 5, so there you go. Portion sizes are decent and we definitely took home leftovers. My husband ordered mango chicken (medium spice) and it was really good. The chicken biryani was also ordered medium spice but was spicier than the mango chicken. The vegetable samosa was delicious. The cheese naan didn't have the cheese evenly distributed but that's just nitpicking. The garlic naan was flavorful. The pics have some amount missing because we didn't take the pics in a timely fashion.

This evening my grandson took me out for dinner at Saffron Indian Bistro , I must say this is my 2nd time here and it definitely was a better experience this time around. The 1st time was a few years ago and the welcoming was not friendly , it was very harsh I will leave it at that , Today the young man that sat us down was a bit aggressive he kind of was a bit upset that we did not order something to drink right away , I didn't let that deter the rest of the evening. The young lady that took our order she was thin with glasses and the sweetest young lady ever , she came to our table with a smile , gave us time to review the menu , took our order and repeated it back to make sure she had everything , was very attentive and checking on us , the food was amazing , we will over look the nasty man with an attitude that sat us down and remember the rest of the night which was amazing and we will be back

Lamb Biryani

My first time here and I ordered lamb biryani, Gobi Manchurian, and palak paneer. Everything had great flavor and generous portions. I was pleasantly surprised at how much lamb was in the biryani and the size of the paneer in the palak. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best Indian food I've ever had! I've eaten my fair…read moreshare of Indian food in several states and Canada and this was the best, most authentic food I've had. We arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't completely full but that soon changed with several families coming in right after us. The restaurant is on the smaller side, clean and decorated well. We went on a Saturday night and ordered off of their special weekend menu. We definitely over ordered. There were 3 of us and we had enough leftovers for a full meal the next day. We ordered the masala cheese dosai, butter chicken, nalli gosht biryani and malai lamb chops. The nalli gosht is the goat shank biryani, we got the order for 2 people, it comes with 2 goat shanks on a mountain of fluffy fragrant basmati rice. The goat was tender falling off the bone, seasoned to perfection in a spicy masala paste/sauce. We got it at level one spice but it tasted spicer. We didn't mind because the spice just added to the flavor. It was so good! We also got the usual butter chicken which turned out to be not so usual because like everything else we tried, the spice combo and depth of flavor just turned it up several notches. The masala cheese dosai was a great start to the meal and was fun to eat with our hands. The lamb chops were a last minute addition and so worth it. The chops were cooked perfectly in a flavorful sauce and served with a veggie slaw. Overall, we LOVED everything we tried and would definitely recommend Biryani Hub. The only suggestion we have would be to serve cold water or offer ice. Our waiter brought a bottle of water to the table with glasses but the water was more room temp. Other than that, it was a great experience.

Biryani Hub Delivers a Flavorful Introduction to Authentic Indian Cuisine…read more I finally made my way to Biryani Hub for lunch, conveniently located at 5745 Virginia Beach Boulevard, tucked just behind the Waffle House. For weekday diners, the restaurant offers a smart selection of combination platters--an ideal entry point for anyone looking to explore a range of traditional Indian dishes in a single sitting. I chose the Chicken Platter ($15), which features three distinct preparations, two generously sized pieces of naan, and a dessert to round out the meal. It's a well-structured offering that balances variety with portion size. The standout was the Chicken Dum (bone-in), prepared in the traditional dum style--slow-cooked and sealed to lock in flavor. The result is deeply aromatic, rich, and layered in a way that feels unmistakably royal. This is not rushed food; it's deliberate, composed, and worthy of the word "luxury." Equally impressive was the Special Chicken (boneless)--tender pieces marinated in a proprietary blend of spices, then cooked with fragrant basmati rice in layered fashion. Each bite carried trapped aromas that unfolded gradually, delivering both depth and balance without overwhelming the palate. One detail worth noting: the clearly defined spice scale (1-7). I selected level 4, labeled "Indian Mild." While approachable, it still carried a noticeable heat--enough to remind you that you're experiencing authentic seasoning rather than a toned-down version. Too often, restaurants rely on heat for its own sake--spice without structure. That's not the case here. At Biryani Hub, the heat is deliberate, built into layered flavor profiles that are difficult to fully describe and far better experienced firsthand. What stood out most was the depth of flavor across the board. Each dish brought its own identity, with spices working in harmony rather than competing for attention. For those already familiar with Indian cuisine--or anyone curious to step into it--Biryani Hub is a worthwhile stop. It's the kind of place that rewards exploration while supporting a local business doing things the right way.

When you enter, you order at the counter. If you are dining in, you choose where you'd like to sit, and your food is brought out on trays. They do use paper plates and plastic utensils, but again, it is fast-casual. They have a vegetarian side of the menu and then a side with meat. The only meat they offer is chicken. We got the Chicken Biryani and the Chicken Curry and garlic naan. We asked for it to be VERY mild. The flavor was all very good but I would not call it mild lol that's probably my only complaint - it was a little too spicy for me. I have been to other Indian places that offer American mild, medium, hot AND indian mild, medium, hot. I think they realize that they are able to tolerate a lot more spice! I would say my meal was probably "Indian" mild. I realize spice is subjective, and I am a wimp! They offer a variety of different drinks in their cooler and they have a filtered water station. They do not offer ice at all. Our food came out very fast but was still PIPING hot and fresh! The customer service was excellent. The gentlemen at the counter was extremely nice! During our meal one of the women from the kitchen came out to use the restroom but stopped to ask us how our meal was and to let them know if we needed anything. Very sweet people! I would absolutely recommend this place for a flavor, service, and If you like spicy!
