The mugalai chicken curry was chock full of egg shells. Negligent preparation on the part of the restaurant.

Decided to go here to try it out…read more First of all, the inside is a bit too hot and stuffy. Portion size was a lot smaller than I anticipated, based on other Indian places I've been. The "Virginia Iced-Tea" was really good. I don't know what made it Virginian. Maybe the fact that it was cold and had ice did. The Naan was good, albeit crispy. I'm used to more of a softer, chewier naan and so that was surprising. I had to try the butter chicken and it was a little different too. I still like it just fine, though. Rice was absolutely perfect! Some of the stuff on the online menu didn't match the menu in-house. So I would not believe it if you're looking at the one on their website. Shrimp was so spicy! Now, for the really bad parts. At first, I was pleased to get the complimentary water... until I realized that it was room-temp. Everyone else's was so chilled, there was condensation. Everyone else in the place got very large portions, mine were small. Everyone else got checked at least half a dozen times, I was barely acknowledged or straight-up ignored. When there was interaction, me and my party were treated very rudely. My guess is that it was because 1. they were scarred by the other people there that were being very rude and irritating first. And 2. some of the staff are very preferential when it comes to certain demographics and not very partial to others. Love that old double standard, it's even more delectable than anything on the menu! Final word on this place: not the best, not the worst. Service could be a LOT better.

First let me say that I was so intoxicated from the amazing aroma that I immediately dug in and…read moreforgot to take pics. The restaurant is clean and more on the smaller side being in a storefront but was fine. We were greated by a really nice waiter on our way in and he showed myself and my son to our seats. He returned with a nice carafe of water and glasses. I took half a point because the bottle nor glasses were crystal clean, most likely ran through dishwasher and just air dry. We used napkins to wipe our glasses inside and out as well as utensils to be precautionary. We will definitely be regulars.

The goat was a new dish i hadn't tried and it was the star of the show. The korma here is exceptional. They offer curry dishes that you don't get from other places and it's done to perfection.

Tried Masala Bites for takeout and let me just say... I was 100% influenced by the buy-one-get-one…read moregarlic naan deal that was going on. No regrets there -- that naan understood the assignment. When I try a new Indian spot, I always go with butter chicken as my baseline. I ordered mine "medium hot" because I like spice, but I like flavor more than I like questioning my life choices while sweating through dinner. The flavor was great, portion of rice was HUGE (like... rice for days), but the spice level? Let's just say it politely waved at me from across the room. Next time, we're going full "Indian hot." My friend got the chicken tikka amritsari, which came in one of those elite takeout containers with the little compartments -- we love organization. It looked amazing: chicken, veggies, sauce, the whole situation. He ordered "Indian hot" and... same story. Delicious, but not exactly setting off the fire alarm. He enjoyed it, just wished it brought a little more heat. Only downside: dinner prices for takeout were a bit on the higher side. But overall, really good food -- we just learned that next time, when they say spicy... we need to say spicier.

We were warmly welcomed ion a late Saturday afternoon and decided to elect Outdoor Seating. Interior was beautifully designed, but when at the beach, go outdoors. Our server Prashna was top notch! Professional, knowledgeable and super sweet! She expertly guided us through the menu and guided us to our personal tastes. See did not steer us wrong! My boyfriend is Indian so I was hopeful we made the right choice. And that we did!!!! The Paneer Tikka was seasoned with a proprietary masala blend accompanied with salted fresh veggies. The best part? They brought out a mango tamarind signature chutney (Rangsa) that paired beautifully and truth be known, I could have drank a gallon of it! Our main entrees that followed were equally delicious! The dal makhani, Aloo Gobhi , cucumber yogurt and the Paneer tikka was first class and boyfriend approved For me, the Fish Tikka was marinated and grilled to perfection! Shout out to Dinesh who also assisted Prashna in creating a great dining experience. Truly authentic Indian hospitality and cuisine. Upon our departure, we had the honor to meet the manager who is committed to ensuring this restaurant meets and exceeds guest expectations. Highly recommend!!!!!
