First n foremost, prices are not listed which means it's gonna be pricey. Tried the asada torta for a total price of $15.99 with no drink. Bolio roll was much smaller than the ones purchased at the ranch market. The carne asada was chopped into small pieces which charred up when cooked on the flat iron. What's up all!! Soooo, yesterday I went to grab one of my favorite meals, Birria de Chivo, and I only know a few spots (Westside & Mesa) but this one's pretty good. Best place I've had it so far was Ensanada, MX for me, but given this dish is served up different ways and different styles throughout different areas of Mexico, I can only go off of what I've had. Check out how the get down went!! Birria de Chivo - This braised bowl of heavenly goodness (Goat Meat) definitely hit for me. I could definitely taste the flavors of the broth and marinade, typically Chiles and Spices, but I walked away fat and satisfied. Served up with some toppings like Cilantro, Onions and Cabbage, and a side of warm corn tortillas, but for me, the salsa verde served on the side was legit too and perfect for the tortillas. For me, bomb!! And I know there's a spot right up the street that's just as good or maybe even better but this is where I landed. Definitely worth making a stop for. Tacos de Chicharron - Definitely one of my favorite tacos, Chicharron is basically the fried skin and fat cap of the pork belly. It's a balance of fried crunchy-ness and tender pork fat, hella menu worthy and up there with the other taco meat big dogs, no doubt. This is a must order for me here. Tacos de Cahuamanta - So this was a first for me, and I'm not gonna lie, I was a little in between after my first bite. Not knowing what it was, I immediately thought "this would be better as a soup". To which I later found out, is usually prepared as a soup but also a taco as well. But. It was a combination of Manta Ray and Shrimp, and never having Manta Ray before, it definitely had a stronger fish flavor. I wasn't a huge fan, it's worth a try, but I'm definitely getting the soup version next time. Go check em out next time you're in the area, I enjoyed it, no disappointments on this side but. Originally from Southern California and here for work. Came here with my work team for lunch since the reviews were good. Overall, the experience seemed to be sub adequate for the whole team. I got the goat burrito and almost didn't finish it. Burrito was falling apart after opening the foil, the bottom was filled with oil and juice that gushed out of the burrito. I guess Southwestern Mexican food is a lot different from Southern California Mexican food. Rice and refried beans also unflavored and bland. - Overall, I'm sure better Mexican food is around and this seems more like a local neighborhood hang out eatery. I've been on the hunt for good Birria in the Phoenix metro. A lot of my friends love going here so I have it a chance. I got a bowl of Birria and it was disappointing. The consommé was okay, nothing to complain about. The meat however, was just not hitting the spot. It was definitely not seasoned well, the flavors of the consommé was not sticking to the meat. It was almost naked to the taste and a little dry. The best part part was dipping the tortillas in for a bite, and that should not be the best part of eating Birria. Another pro is that the portion is large, so you will for sure get a good fill in your stomach. I also got the manta taco and even that didn't hit the spot. Also to note, I was starving. The Birria stew is delicious, you can tell it's been cooking all day. I love their tacos, burritos, tortas. Go early, it gets packed on the weekends.
