Yes. Cheese? Also yes. Portion control? Absolutely not. And honestly? Respect. The Birria Tacos (aka post-workout happiness) These tacos are CRISPY. Like audible crunch. Golden, juicy, stuffed with slow-cooked beef that tastes like it's been marinating in flavor since 1997. And the consommé??? You dip it and suddenly you understand why people fall in love too fast. Served with: Mexican rice (carb loading but make it elite) Refried beans with melted cheese (fiber... we're calling it balance) A lime wedge for aesthetic health Would I eat this after leg day? Yes. Would I eat this before leg day? Also yes. The Smothered Burrito (aka the villain arc meal) It comes out sizzling like it's announcing its presence. Completely drowned in melted cheese. Sauce everywhere. Zero shame. You cut into it and it's just layers of juicy meat, sauce, and chaos. This is not a "cute little lunch." This is a "cancel your plans and commit" situation. Foodie Influencer Notes: Portions are HUGE (shareable but do you really want to?) Flavor is bold, rich, and comforting Not watered down, not bland, not pretending to be healthy This is real, messy, satisfying food Gym Girl Verdict: Is it high protein? Yes. Is it high calorie? Also yes. Is life about balance? Absolutely. You can meal prep chicken and rice all week... but sometimes you need birria dipped in consommé while telling yourself "this is for muscle growth." Final Rating: 9/10 - would absolutely earn this on the StairMaster again.

I have heard good things about this place so I wanted to give it a try. The place is very roomy,…read morealmost felt like I was in a school cafeteria. So, if you have a group I am sure they can accommodate. The margarita tasted a little like Mt Dew, so I guess you would say on the sweeter side. The chips were good tasted home made, and the salsa was also good, I have had better for my personal taste but it was still yummy. We had a chicken con polo (sp?) and it was good, again not our favorite in the area but still delicious and a generous portion. Staff was pleasant and I believe a manager or owner stopped by to see how we were doing which I felt was a nice touch. Good place to visit but not our regular Taco Tuesday venue.

If you're craving authentic Mexican flavors at great prices, this no-frills, family-run restaurant is the place to go. The owner was very friendly and shared that she took over about six months ago but kept the same menu, staff, and cozy atmosphere. She also mentioned they recently added a breakfast burrito that's become a hit--perfect for a quick brunch while running errands. The dessert options looked amazing, though we didn't try them this time. What we ordered: * I had the caldo de res soup, served with five small tortillas, dried chilies, fresh cilantro, and onions. The broth was flavorful, and the meat was tender--such a comforting dish for a chilly day. * My husband went for the Rancheros burrito (steak and jalapeños) topped with queso sauce. It came out piping hot, and he loved it! The jalapeños had a marinated kick that added extra depth. * We also tried two jalapeño and cheese tamales. Portions were generous, and we even saved one tamale and the tortillas for another small meal at home. We noticed several other guests ordering menudo, so that's definitely on our list for next time!

The vibe was amazing, I love the murals and the decor. The service was incredible as well. I didn't get the name of our server but she was amazing and the cutest ever. The chilaquiles are fire. The food was amazing. The drink were 100/10 I loved the cups for the drinks. Reminds me of home with my family in Mexico. You will not regret coming here. Amazing vibes, food and people. The owners did an amazing job with this place. So aesthetically pleasing. A staple for sure.

I have loved their quesabirria in the past but unfortunately they were out, so I went with the steak quesadilla instead. It was decent, but nothing to die for. I was thinking about quesabirria the whole time... Someone else at the table ordered three ground beef tacos (which technically isnt on the menu but is easy enough to make) but unfortunately they were also out of ground beef. The Ozzy's bowl was delicious and I would recommend that to anyone trying to choose something from their LARGE menu. The Horchata was a big plus - nice and sweet (and the large size is LARGE). The sprite was flat and the salsa wasn't giving everything I wanted (I did ask for salt which helped). Service was pretty good, with some wait time between drink orders/check ups, but it was pretty busy, so all props to the server! Also, the steak tacos made for great leftovers the next day. Thanks cafe tacuba!

Don Miguel Tienda Mexicana & Carniceria - The refried beans were runny. That portion of rice is extremely small. For the price that I pay for this meal

I've found myself craving Mexican food a lot lately. Since the rest of my family doesn't want…read moreMexican as often as I do, I have been taking different members with me to different restaurants. For my trip to Don Miguel, I took my oldest (14). She ordered a burrito with only chicken and cheese. I don't know what I ordered. Their menu board had a section called something like "chef's specialty." The menu board had a picture, the name of whatever the dish was, and the choices of meats. I ordered that chef's specialty with carne asada. The best way I can describe it is if you rolled out dough into incredibly thin ovals, then dropped them into a pan of something like Crisco for just long enough to get them to puff up a little, then put them on a plate with carne asada on top. A lot of times, when you're ordering something with steak cut into small pieces, you can get a lot of gristle, but I didn't notice that. It seemed like they either used better quality meat than a lot of places, or did a better job butchering it. I would highly recommend this meal. I'll try to remember to update this review with the actual name of the meal next time I go. I'm not sure of the best way to tell you about my daughter's burrito, which I ended up finishing, because it was pretty massive. I guess I'll start by saying that my daughter said it was the best burrito she has ever had. In my opinion, asking for a burrito with only chicken and cheese is essentially asking for a bland burrito. So, I don't feel like I can give a great assessment of how good their burritos are, but the kid who likes chicken and cheese burritos really liked the chicken and cheese burrito at Don Miguel. We went on a Saturday, and the restaurant was doing a very good business. There were a handful of open tables, but all of them except one were large tables. As a party of two, I didn't want to occupy a large table at a busy time. The one open smaller booth hadn't been bussed yet. I'm probably giving more detail than I need to, but I don't want to just say that my table hadn't been bussed before I sat down, and make it sound like the workers weren't doing their job. So, I want to make it clear that I chose an unbussed table when bussed tables were available. The reason it's relevant that I chose an unbussed table is that my table had a squeeze bottle of red salsa, and a squeeze bottle of green salsa. I did not notice squeeze bottles on any of the other tables, which makes me think these bottles are something that you ask for if you want them. The reasonI think that's worth mentioning is that the salsa verde was incredibly mild, but the regular salsa (is "red" in Spanish "roja"?) was spicier than any salsa I have ever had as the standard salsa at a restaurant. I've had spicier salsas when I specifically bought hot salsas in grocery stores. So, I'm not saying this salsa was unimaginably spicy. I'm just saying that I'd bet they have squeeze bottles of mild, medium, and spicy; and whoever sat at the table probably asked for spicy. If you ask for salsa and there's only one kind of red salsa though, I would be prepared for it to have a nice kick. The staff seemed very nice, as far as I could tell. If the fact that I'm not sure how to say "red" in Spanish didn't already give this away, English is my only language, and I don't feel like I speak that language well enough to get cocky and try to learn a second language. It seemed like most of the staff at Don Miguel also spoke one language. It wasn't a problem, though. When I tried to give my daughter's special order, the woman just called over another guy who kindly took my order in English. (I've tried my best to learn a few words in Spanish for my next visit, and I understand that saying something like "Uno burrito solamente pollo y queso, por favor. No frijoles, no lechuga, por favor." should do the trick.) I also had horchata. I actually hate horchata. I normally drink iced tea, but they didn't have iced tea. I try not to drink soda. So, I asked the gentleman if they had agua fresca. The gentleman who was taking my order said "horchata?" and seemed to read on my face that horchata wasn't what I wanted. (It's the only agua fresca I have had that I didn't like.) When he saw my face, he pivoted to asking if I wanted ice water. I was about to say yes when I realized that I'm pretty sure "agua fresca" translates to "fresh water," and that this guy may have been assuming I thought "agua fresca" was the way to ask for ice water. I may be stupid, but the Dunning-Kruger Effect is strong with me. So, I don't want people thinking I'm stupid. As a result, I proudly said "You know what? I think I will have a horchata." It was like a quart of horchata. So, if you like horchata, that would probably be a pleasant surprise for you. By the way, the prices at Don Miguel were fantastic. Obviously inflation has had an effect on us all, but the folks at Don Miguel seem to be doing a good job of handling it. I highly recommend!
