Queso. Best ever! Ribs. I know, Mexican restaurant, but amazing. Pork tacos. Incredible but the Raspberry Margarita made by Alex with love and a heart. Priceless!

This is a pretty nice place a lot of trendy people here people here you know it's a good place to eat Mexican food and food. I gotta say something though I went for lunch and I ordered a fajita and I said I'd like the shrimp added and so then I got a shrimp fajita and didn't get like a chicken or steak Fajita with shrimp added it was still good but you know it is what it is my mistake being the 1st time rookie here I'll learn.

Been a very long time since we have eaten at such a great Mexican Restaurant (actually for me it was about 3 days ago in Houston, business trip ) Actually ate here back in 2006 the last time we were in Cedar Rapids, so it has been a while........ Great Caso and corn chips, my Fajita Combo was superb and so much, had to have take out! Great quality ingredients steak, chicken and shrimp! Awesome corn tortillas and huge side of condiments. Super flavorsome just what the dr. ordered! My wife had beef enchilada and beef taco with a white Caso. She enjoyed this so much, plate was empty, rarely does this happen. Great friendly service, and a comfy place to unwind for a while. Don't want to wait another 12 years before we go back....

I can't remember when I've had better Mexican food or even better service. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that it's in Iowa and I am just visiting from California! I ordered the Chimi Special Beef, the meat was hot and tasty. My daughter, who is a picky eater, ordered the Gringa Quesadilla and was very happy with the flavor as well as the quality of chicken used. The chips were fresh and hot, the salsa was full of flavor. Very friendly staff all around. This place will be on the top of my list next time I'm in town.

Well what can I say...did I really expect to find good Mexican food in Iowa? I must admit, my expectations were very low when I arrived, so if this review had been done in San Diego, where we have amazing Mexican food, it would have probably been a 3* review. If you are in Iowa, this is your best bet for an almost Mexican restaurant. I have to say, I did enjoy the chicken fajitas, and was given a huge portion. The chips and salsa were a little weak, the salsa tasted a lot like tomato sauce - Be sure to ask them to bring you the hot salsa from the back, it is a little better than what they bring to the table. I had a margarita, but didn't really enjoy it. There was far too much sour mix, and not enough tequila - it tasted like candy. I was very impressed that the owner and her young daughter (10-15 years old) were out in the restaurant greeting patrons and cleaning the restaurant. I give you 5* for actively working and making sure everyone was having a good time. Well done. I did leave very full and satisfied with my food. If I am ever in Iowa again, I will be back for some more fajitas.

Great service but the food was so salty that it was inedible. Will stick with Adelitas or Villas.

The chips and salsa was good to start off with while you wait for your food. The one negative things is that my soft shell taco was cold. The portion of food was amazing and a lot for the price you paid. The location of the restaurant is easy to get to and very inviting once you're inside. I will be back to try other dishes.

I recently visited Adelitas Mexican Restaurant in Cedar Rapids after hearing that they made their…read moretortillas in-house. Sadly, when I inquired about this before ordering, the server looked at me as if I was asking something outlandish and nonchalantly remarked, "We've never done that - there isn't ANY restaurant around here that has the people to do that." This set the tone for an experience that was a mixed bag. Service: Service-wise, I was left wanting. Not only did the server's dismissive response about the tortillas disappoint me, but I also encountered another hiccup when it came to payment. After we had already paid with a debit card, we were informed that ANY sort of card used was subject to a 4% service fee. This felt like a hidden charge that should have been communicated upfront. Another minor issue was the lack of drink refills. My guest ordered a soda and was never offered a refill or asked if they needed anything else. I only ordered water for lunch and was disappointed to be offered a single refill when our food was initially brought by someone other than our server. My cup sat empty for over half an hour while we finished our meal. Food Quality: The food at Adelitas was reasonably tasty but nothing extraordinary. While their flavors were acceptable, their menu offerings of only shredded chicken and ground beef options as protein fillings fall drastically short of what I consider "industry standard." I'm not saying everyone has to have a barbacoa pit out back, but at least having a chicken breast or steak option would be nice. I will say, I did appreciate their lunch special, where you can get two choices that included tacos, chimichangas, burritos, etc., and a very well-made tamale (with your choice of sauces - and they allowed me to substitute in their queso sauce). Atmosphere: Adelitas scores well on cleanliness and location. The restaurant is well-located and offers a cozy, family-friendly environment that makes it a great spot for a quick meal. The interior is clean and spacious, with decor that is vibrant and reflective of the restaurant's Mexican theme, creating a lively and enjoyable dining experience. Outdoor seating is also available for those who prefer it. **Overall Experience:** While Adelitas Mexican Restaurant is a decent choice for a quick lunch on this side of town, my overall experience left much to be desired. With so many better options not only in Cedar Rapids but also in the surrounding neighborhoods, I personally won't be heading back to this particular restaurant anytime soon. For those considering a visit, it might be worth a try if you're in the area and need a quick bite. However, be prepared for potential service issues and hidden fees.
