This restaurant used to be Pregame which moved across town. I was happy to see right away that they had Happy Hour specials. The menu not only has Mexican dishes, but also has menu items from previous menus restraints in the building had. I liked that because there's always that person who orders a burger at a Mexican restaurant. Now they have more options, which looked great. I was not impressed by the margarita. It tasted like a premix, which I don't tend to enjoy. The food however was presented really well, was full of flavor, and game out fast. Service was friendly and quick. There are several TVs if you want to watch a game. The restaurant is open, so could get a little noisy with people talking, but not unbearable. I will definitely come here again. read more

Food was goo, nothing special about it compared to other Mexican in the area. It's still very much set up like a bar style in there, not really a Mexican vibe. The service was not the best, but not terrible. It was not busy either. Overall was okay, not a terrible experience but not great either read more

Great food and the service is outstanding. Even though the menu is primarily Mexican fare now, they still offer the old Pregame favorites like Cork and Fork and Sweets Garden. The Street Nachos are fantastic, with or without jalapenos ;-) Good happy hour 3-6 plus craft beer options. Taco Tuesday is popular and the Margs are great. Still has all the TVs leftover from Pregame Sports Bar. So watching sports while enjoying great food is what keeps us going back regularly. read more

My fiancé and I stopped in Mas Margaritas for a quick bite. We ordered a grande burrito and beef and chicken fajitas. For drinks we had a margarita on the rocks and a strawberry daiquiri. The food was excellent and the drinks were oh so yummy! The chips and salsa were fresh! Our waiter was polite and attentive. Great atmosphere with modern decor. read more

I used to love Mas Margaritas, but once I started waiting 55 minutes for a taco and even longer for a refill I was out. The last time I went I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo (a staple for me- I try it as much as I can) and it was SO SALTY I could barely eat it. I left bloated and hungry. If you want to go get giggly and have a marg, try it out (just one though.. you'll be waiting an eternity) but if you want an authentic Mexican meal go somewhere else. read more

Mas Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is a CR Gotta-try living on Boysen Road. Mas Margaritas Mexican Restaurant Highlights- -Half price happy hour (from 3-6pm) -Open daily with ample parking. -Amazing salsa! (Can't beat salsa refilled from a pitcher...) -Tuesdays are for tacos! ($1 hard shell beef or chicken tacos.) -Plenty of seating options. High tops, low tops-- conducive to large groups. Came in on a Tuesday night with about a dozen folks (having called ahead). We were able to sit at a very long table, together. For a Tuesday it was pretty busy. Service was ok-- they refilled salsa/chips and drinks at an ok pace. The menu has something for everyone-- with a handful of kid options, a section in the menu for vegetarians and a handful of deserts. I had the chicken chimichanga. It was PACKED with chicken but I can't say it was something I'd order again. The beans and rice were on par. I thought the tacos looked bomb! Mas Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is a great happy hour hang! Stop in for drinks, chips, salsa and a good time. read more

I finally made it here for taco Tuesday. I was rather dubious about $1 tacos, but wow these were great. Much tastier and with a higher quality of ingredients than I had expected. It's a nice venue with plenty of parking and easy to get to. The service was slow. But the place was packed and they were running their tails off so I can't be judgemental about it. Will definitely return to try other menu options. read more

Tenderloin was overcooked and dry. Says hand breaded on menu but appears not. Appears to be the type that comes in frozen out of a big box. I have, already, a plan to go back for a birthday celebration so I will try the Mexican food a try. I live close by and really want to like the place. read more

Food is wonderful and so many choices. The staff are very attentive, and even when they are busy, which is most of the time, they still make sure you are getting everything you need. There is a small outdoor seating area outside but plenty of indoor seating. They have a huge bar area as well. Price is what you expect for area. This is a go to place for good, authentic Mexican. The only downfall is parking is hard due to the strip mall area it is in. Definitely worth the trip and going back. read more

The service is usually on the slow side, but everyone working there looks like they're running their butts off, and no matter what time you go, it's usually pretty busy. Here's why: the food is absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Here's how we do it: When they bring the chips and salsa, ask for chorizo queso and mango madness margaritas. The chorizo is fantastic and not too spicy at all. The mango madness marg has chili crunchies around the rim and it adds a salty spice goodness to the drink. Then: order the molcajete to share between 2 people. It'll come with tortillas and rice & beans, but you won't need them. It comes in a huge pot and includes all these delicious meats and tasty veggies with cheese and sauce. The best part is the pork and juices at the bottom. read more

It's a solid Mexican restaurant in a convenient location. It may not be my favorite Mexican restaurant in town, but it's definitely the one that I frequent the most often. I love their decor and the food and service are good. read more

Update - so disappointed with our latest visit. Thursday- waitress didn't know if there was a happy hour (there is), food took 45+ minutes to get tacos. Got the order wrong and it came out cold, both orders. Feel bad for the owners, good help is almost impossible to find. Went downhill quick which is awful because it used to be soooo good. Must say the margarita was excellent and the 2 for 1 happy hour rules!. read more

My BFF, Brandi and I went to have lunch at this spot the other day. She had a gift certificate and I was the lucky one to get to take part in her fabulous gift! We arrived around 11am. The restaurant had just opened. It was great because their were only 2 other tables that walked in with us.! Therefore, no wait time! It wasn't too long before the lunch crowd came in and took over every table in the place! It must be a very popular Mexican spot in Cedar Rapids! Our waiter came by immediately to take our drink order. Brandi ordered the house Margarita. She says that they do not skimp out on the alcohol. She loved it! I decided to skip the alcohol and ordered a large Horchata. A Mexican Horchata is a creamy flavorful blended drink made with ground rice, milk, and cinnamon. It is absolutely delicious! If you have never had one, you should give it a try! You don't know what you are missing! Before our drinks arrived, our waiter brought us a basket of warm crispy tortilla chips and house made salsa. It hit the spot because we were both pretty hungry. We had been running errands and going to appts since 6am! Fresh crispy, warm tortilla chips and salsa were perfect to hold us over while we waited for our entrees. We both decided that we wanted to try their fajitas. Brandi ordered chicken & steak fajitas. I ordered just the steak fajitas. It was a substantial amount of food that we were given, especially since we were ordering from the lunch menu. Our steak and chicken came to us sizzling on a platter with onions and green peppers. We also had rice, beans, and fresh homemade corn tortillas! Nothing is better than homemade tortillas! I wish they made their flour tortillas in house, but unfortunately those are not! Our fajitas were bomb! It was well seasoned and cooked just right! Sometimes when I've ordered fajitas at other places, they tend to overcook the meat! I was happy to find out that this wasn't the case here! We both enjoyed our meals completely! We will definitely be back to try more things! I am anxious to coming back during happy hour on Taco Tuesdays! I can't wait to see how their crispy tacos taste! read more

A hidden gem in Marion, IA! Off Boyson in a little neighborhood strip mall, Mas Margaritas is the place to go for authentic Mexican in NE IA. We started with a small queso, which was familiar and delicious. The food took a little while to come out but was worth the wait. I ordered the 3 amigos: a sope, taco, and tostada (I think?). These were DELICIOUS. I couldn't finish them all but definitely took them home for lunch tomorrow. My partner got a chicken quesadilla which was generous on the chicken. He couldn't finish his dish either. The portions were generous and the food was FRESH. Definitely coming back! read more

I knew I should have walked out when the chips were burnt! Over half of the basket of chips were crumbs! The server was friendly, that's about the only good thing!! read more

Tucked away in a strip mall, I heard about Mas Margs from two of my coworkers who also live in the neighborhood. We've ordered from here several times now during the pandemic and can't wait to be able to dine in normally. We typically order a veggie quesadilla and pollo con arroz. Can't go wrong with the basics! My other favorite place didn't have much in the way of vegetarian and here the veggie quesadilla has a little bit of cactus, which is what sold me honestly. I can never find it in restaurants. Thanks to another coworker, we recently discovered they have an awesome Taco Tuesday deal for $10! You get makings for 10 tacos and an order of queso to make yourself a diy taco bar at home. It was more than enough food for the two of us. The food is excellent and the staff are super friendly. Definitely our new go to, especially so close to home. read more

Not a good experience!! Food was good but nothing great! Tried to use a coupon, waitress said she would take it off at the end. When she brought our bill I gave her the coupon and she returned and told me they no longer accepted these coupons (as of Dec 1st)! When I asked to speak to the manager, they stated that these coupons are no longer accepted and she had posted a sign reflecting this change!! When I confronted the manager she just kept repeating the same thing and even called the waitress over to attempt to justify her position! She then accused me of threating her and stormed off! The sign for not accepting the coupons was displayed on the hostess station below the counter where no one would see it, IT WAS NOT POSTED ON THE DOOR OR ANYWHERE YOU COULD SEE IT AS YOU ENTERED THE RESTURANT!!! read more

I'm visiting from out town, I want Mexican so I visited Mas Margaritas , it was NOT good at all . I had Tuesday Taco special , only comes with lettuce and cheese , I ordered both chicken and ground beef. Well if the taco meat could have had any seasoning it , i probably would not any complaint . My sister had the enchilada platter. She only ate three bites of it, and took the rest home. It's still sitting the fridge , NOBODY will touch . The service was ok , the music was so loud I couldn't our waitress read more

Loved it. We were seated right away (on a taco Tuesday at peak dinner hours) on the gorgeous patio -- the garden beds are a nice touch and the flowers smell great! Complimentary chips and salsa were delicious (I could not stop eating that spicy salsa). I ordered the Burrito Rubio and my husband ordered the Fajita Quesadilla. Both were great and well portioned. Speaking of well portioned and delicious... the margaritas! We got the house margs on the rocks and they hit the spot...and let's be real were very effective. We had a great time and will definitely be back regularly. read more

I've been coming here since opening. The food and customer service keep wowing me every time. I'm a Keto girl. So there are plenty of options they do for me. I order fajitas with no onions , I order a few cucumber slices with my guacamole and salsa (if it's busy I take my own), I take sugar free margarita packets with me to pour with mezcal and patron, and I order extra lettuce over beans. I appreciate them accommodating to my Keto lifestyle. I will graciously tip you all and give you lots of hugs for making it easy to go out to eat! An interesting surprise in Iowa. As a true Texan and growing up with Mexican culture all around me I was impressed by the selection and food from Mas. Big benefit - having all meat for fajitas be the same price! I was able to enjoy beef without feeling like I was racking up the check. Our waitress was sweet and speedy. The environment was full, bright, and enjoyable. Lots of tables and booths for comfortable seating for many. Will be returning!! read more

Stopped in for brunch after daughter stopped earlier in the week and raved about the guacamole; did not disappoint! Menu is great and expansive, lots of choices and delicious, we sampled each other's food with nothing we didn't like. Portions are also generous and priced very well, service was great. Nice to be able to sit on patio again and no masks (Thank you Gov. Reynolds!!!) God bless you with continued success! Will be back to continue our tour of the menu. read more

This place was really understaffed and we waited about two hours overall for service, The drink was called a margarita and it was in the wrong glass and the waiter did not even know how to make it. The food was really all that great, so overall we will not be returning to this restaurant! We ordered drinks first and I ordered my food last and we got my food first and our drinks last and my husband had to wait for his drink for 30 minutes! Overall it was a nice place inside but poor management!!! Felt really sorry for the waiter!! He was doing everything! read more
