This restaurant used to be Pregame which moved across town. I was happy to see right away that they had Happy Hour specials. The menu not only has Mexican dishes, but also has menu items from previous menus restraints in the building had. I liked that because there's always that person who orders a burger at a Mexican restaurant. Now they have more options, which looked great. I was not impressed by the margarita. It tasted like a premix, which I don't tend to enjoy. The food however was presented really well, was full of flavor, and game out fast. Service was friendly and quick. There are several TVs if you want to watch a game. The restaurant is open, so could get a little noisy with people talking, but not unbearable. I will definitely come here again. read more

I finally made it here for taco Tuesday. I was rather dubious about $1 tacos, but wow these were great. Much tastier and with a higher quality of ingredients than I had expected. It's a nice venue with plenty of parking and easy to get to. The service was slow. But the place was packed and they were running their tails off so I can't be judgemental about it. Here's why: the food is absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Here's how we do it: When they bring the chips and salsa, ask for chorizo queso and mango madness margaritas. The chorizo is fantastic and not too spicy at all. The mango madness marg has chili crunchies around the rim and it adds a salty spice goodness to the drink. My BFF, Brandi and I went to have lunch at this spot the other day. She had a gift certificate and I was the lucky one to get to take part in her fabulous gift! We arrived around 11am. If you have never had one, you should give it a try! You don't know what you are missing! Before our drinks arrived, our waiter brought us a basket of warm crispy tortilla chips and house made salsa. It hit the spot because we were both pretty hungry. We had been running errands and going to appts since 6am! Fresh crispy, warm tortilla chips and salsa were perfect to hold us over while we waited for our entrees. We both decided that we wanted to try their fajitas. Brandi ordered chicken & steak fajitas. I ordered just the steak fajitas. It was a substantial amount of food that we were given, especially since we were ordering from the lunch menu. Our steak and chicken came to us sizzling on a platter with onions and green peppers. We also had rice, beans, and fresh homemade corn tortillas! Nothing is better than homemade tortillas! I wish they made their flour tortillas in house, but unfortunately those are not! Our fajitas were bomb! It was well seasoned and cooked just right! Sometimes when I've ordered fajitas at other places, they tend to overcook the meat! I was happy to find out that this wasn't the case here! We both enjoyed our meals completely! A hidden gem in Marion, IA! Off Boyson in a little neighborhood strip mall, Mas Margaritas is the place to go for authentic Mexican in NE IA. We started with a small queso, which was familiar and delicious. The food took a little while to come out but was worth the wait. I ordered the 3 amigos: a sope, taco, and tostada (I think?). These were DELICIOUS. I couldn't finish them all but definitely took them home for lunch tomorrow. My partner got a chicken quesadilla which was generous on the chicken. Tucked away in a strip mall, I heard about Mas Margs from two of my coworkers who also live in the neighborhood. We've ordered from here several times now during the pandemic and can't wait to be able to dine in normally. We typically order a veggie quesadilla and pollo con arroz. Can't go wrong with the basics! My other favorite place didn't have much in the way of vegetarian and here the veggie quesadilla has a little bit of cactus, which is what sold me honestly. I can never find it in restaurants. Thanks to another coworker, we recently discovered they have an awesome Taco Tuesday deal for $10! When she brought our bill I gave her the coupon and she returned and told me they no longer accepted these coupons (as of Dec 1st)! When I asked to speak to the manager, they stated that these coupons are no longer accepted and she had posted a sign reflecting this change!! When I confronted the manager she just kept repeating the same thing and even called the waitress over to attempt to justify her position! She then accused me of threating her and stormed off! Loved it. We were seated right away (on a taco Tuesday at peak dinner hours) on the gorgeous patio -- the garden beds are a nice touch and the flowers smell great! Complimentary chips and salsa were delicious (I could not stop eating that spicy salsa). I ordered the Burrito Rubio and my husband ordered the Fajita Quesadilla. Both were great and well portioned. I order fajitas with no onions , I order a few cucumber slices with my guacamole and salsa (if it's busy I take my own), I take sugar free margarita packets with me to pour with mezcal and patron, and I order extra lettuce over beans. This place was really understaffed and we waited about two hours overall for service, The drink was called a margarita and it was in the wrong glass and the waiter did not even know how to make it. The food was really all that great, so overall we will not be returning to this restaurant!
