True to all the previous reviews, the quesabirrias are huge, crispy, full of meat, & delicious! I'm so grateful to our friend who made a lunch date for us at Los Arcos--we became immediate fans after that first visit. Their quesabirria tacos are amazing. I've gotten the 3 taco beef quesabirria combo twice now and I'm even salivating thinking about them as I write this review. These tacos come in crispy shells and are loaded with beef (or goat, if that's what you prefer) with delicious melty cheese topped with onions, cilantro, and shredded cabbage. The consomé that comes with the order for you to dip your tacos into has chunks of meat, too, and so flavorful; you can eat it the leftovers like a soup. If you don't want tacos, Los Arcos also offers quesadillas, burritos (huge ones that my husband is a fan of), mulitas, and tortas. The service is great and they really nicely decorated the restaurant, but ever Since they extended their menu it seems like the quality of their staple items have gone down. I've always ordered the three quesabirria tacos with goat and their consommé was always thick, flavorful, and delicious. I don't even know what to call the stuff that they serve now... it's just salted beef juice. I wish they would bring back the old consommé. This place was very trendy, I love the whole Latina vibe. They offer goat Birria and beef Birria. It is small in there but not too small where it feels crowded and uncomfortable. They brought complimentary chips and bean dip to the table which were good. One recommendation is for a group of over 4 people to bring two baskets of chips. All of our food was very delicious. I got Birria fries and Birria tacos the consomé is perfectly flavored. My kids got the ramen and it was made with tons of flavor. I recommend this place. read more

A friend of mine recommended this spot after I mentioned my visit to the popular place on the strip with the 30-45 minute line. I had the beer birria taco and a steak quesadilla. Both were decent in size but I thought I'd need to order a little more to fill me up, after finishing both I was perfectly satisfied. I also tried a little of the mulitas and it was tremendous. Found this little hole in the wall place. Couldn't find it at first due to faded red sign. Upon entering, you will find it's a very small place. Wanted a birria quesadilla but waitress had trouble communicating so ended up w/ Birria tacos. Also ordered couple of beef Mulitas w/ consome. I struggled w/ the first Mulita. Los Arcos was super delicious and a new go to for me personally. I recommend the Taco de Camaron y claro, los tacos de las quesabirrias con consomme combo. The interior is awesome with wonderful Mexican music to serenade you while you over eat. Similarly was the service as the staff had a fast service (ask for extra cilantro onion and limes if taking to-go as there wasn't many). Really, the highlight is the food. I think the food quality here is good and the food is actually pretty tasty but the main problem I had was the food was incredibly greasy . I mean the bag the dude gave me for my to go order was completely covered in grease, that might have been the first sign. The bag was literally so greasy on the outside I had to go back and ask for another bag. He seemed a little annoyed and confused but he was kind enough to let it slide. I know calling birria greasy is like calling a kettle black, that's kind of how it's supposed to be but this was a little much. I've had birria in SoCal and it wasn't as greasy and tasted a little more fresh. The place was full and looked clean and had a decent amount of tables. It was a great value too. I got the quesabirria with beef which again was covered in grease and the mullita with carne which was delicious and wasn't that greasy. They threw in a consume which was good and salty. All this for $13 was decent. I'm a little health conscious so I usually try to go with healthier options but the place is good and it's a decent value for sure. Give it a shot read more

These are the best birria tacos with consommé that I ever had in my life! The beef was so tender, juicy, and full of flavor. What they do is boil the beef like a stew. Then they put all kinds of Mexican seasonings to make it into a broth called consommé, and let the meat simmer till it's all shredded. Then, while grilling the tacos, they pour the consommé broth all over them for flavoring and stuffed the tacos with that same delicious beef and added cheese, onions, and cilantro. Then they put the consommé broth in a cup for you to dip the tacos in. When you take a bite, the cheese stretches, and all the flavors blend perfectly together! Also, their Spanish rice was moist, cooked perfectly, and was really good. I also loved their refried beans. They were creamy with melted cheese mixed in it. There was even a guy that came by and sang Spanish songs while we were eating, but didn't like how he asked everyone at each table to tip him. I think that aspect shouldn't be aloud as it was annoying to the people eating. It also was very loud and echoing as the establishment isn't very big so I suggest not having this, sorry. Customer service was great the server was the only person there taking orders, hosting and delivering food. There was one other person clearing plates while people were leaving. They give you a complementary chips salsa and refried beans which were very delicious. We ordered the 3 combo quesabirra tacos with small consome that was $14.97 they weren't your authentic quesabirra tacos the tortilla was more dry and not much flavor from the consome on the tortilla. The beef was soft and had decent flavor the cheese wasn't melted all the way either it was lacking something. The consome was salty too the Goat consome was gamy and meat was a little more tough to chew on but my husband enjoyed the ramen that came with one quesabirria pickled red onion, cilantro and radish. The cost was $14.97 the other items we got were a chicken taco that had grilled chicken pieces that had great flavor and tripe taco that also was great I liked that it was crunchy we got limes on side which made each taco so much better. Overall, good food but I wouldn't say it mimics Tijuana style food as I lived there for two years and it isn't close at all. read more

This has got to be my favorite spot in town for birria...and I've been to a lot of places. Guys. I took one bite of my quesabirria de res (stewed beef) & instantly knew I'd be back. The birria was cooked perfectly - it was very tasty. Although, the star of the show definitely had to be the consome. The spices were absolutely perfect and it brought every dish we tried over the top. There was literally a point during my meal where I was drinking it straight out of the cup. The lengua (beef tongue) tacos were also tasty. It had a very delicate texture, which was great, and the beefy flavor stood out on its own. The restaurant itself is pretty small inside so don't expect to come in as a large party (unless you're willing to sit on separate tables, on opposite sides of the restaurant). The servers were very nice. Although, the two parties who sat after us received their food before we did. I can't complain too much...it was worth the wait. I can honestly say that I'll be back to Los Arcos and very likely sooner than later. read more

First time here, and we all love it. We went this place during our road trip. It was a cold night so Birria was a perfect dinner. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant which is great. My kids got Horchata, and I got a pineapple Agua Fresca which was REALLY GOOD:) And I ordered cheese Birria tacos(comes 3 tacos)and consome combo. I shared with my 6 years old son it was perfect portion for us. Birria taco and consome toast amazing. So flavorful and seasoning is just perfect. You can chose beef or Goat , we chose goat. Actually tried to go to another place down the street but had choke people waiting outside. So drove a couple minutes and ended up at Los Arcos. Tiny place. Was packed also but couple of tables leaving. Lot of people coming in after us for take out. Seemed popular and also lot of Mexicans in there so that was a good sign. We wanted the authentic stuff. To expedite, we helped bus a table and then ordered right away. Were told 45 minute wait for the food but since they had beer, we were okay with that. Really it came out in probably only 20. Hubs got the Mulita and Goat Birria Bowl, I got the torta, and our 3 other friends got the quesadilla and tacos combos. Birria is huge everywhere, but I haven't had it. All of us from Hawaii, and it's getting big there too, but 2 of them said they tried at home and didn't care for it b/c too oily and salty. At this place, it was neither. The consomme was delicious and had just enough flavor and nothing was oily. The tacos looked like maybe roasted or something so not as oily.. Loved the torta...bread was soft and everything inside was delish. Choke onions, so I was happy. I thought the mulita would have been better if it was more crispy, but the hubs liked it. He also liked the Birria soup but wished it was more goaty. It did taste like beef, which I prefer. Quesadilla was inhaled, and friend said was good. It even looked better than most I've seen. The other 2 said the tacos were good but messy. Shells broke so things fell apart. But hey, that's how tacos are. Washed everything down with some modelos. All of us were so full. Place the keystone in the arch, put a bow on it, and wrap up the story arc. That's the best I got for trying to understand their name. Los Arcos Birrieria and Taco Shop is a spot on Maryland north of Sahara which I've surely driven by countless times and even tried to stop by a few months back only to find them packed in the afternoon. During the evening of Cinco de Mayo though, they had an inexplicable lull and I waltzed into an empty dining room. Note: bring cash! A note by the front door mentions their $1 surcharge, and fortunately, the server reminded me of this when I was settling my check. I always order tacos when I can, and confronted with a wide array of meats, I went for what ended up being a slight over-order. Buche ($3.50): aka pork stomach. Typically quite flavorful, and didn't disappoint tonight. Very tender and almost gelatinous, as buche is. Probably as good as any you'll find, and although it seems a bit pricey, they do give you a larger taco than what you'll get at most places. Asada ($2.49): aka steak. Not that notable. Somewhat chewy and fairly beefy, but not especially citrus-marinated or charred as it is at with the better examples of asada around town. But since it's an above-average size, it's a good value. Lengua ($2.99): aka beef tongue. Rich, beefy, not bland on its own. A better order than asada here. Tripas ($2.99): aka fried beef tripe. Very barnyard-y stuff, but it's not off-putting if you're not afraid of a little funk. Pretty crunchy here, but not as insanely crispy as some people prefer; perhaps they'll fry it for longer if you make such a request? About as good as any tripas I can recall. Birria de Chivo ($3.79): aka stewed goat. You'll get a satisfying gamey note, but it wasn't all that flavorful. Also, it somehow didn't quite work with the consomme, aka the stewing liquid which is served with birria as a side dip. Actually, the consomme is pretty salty on its own, so it isn't slurpable on its own, making it not very craveworthy. Quesabirria de Res ($3.99): aka stewed beef. Managed to be more satisfying than the goat, especially when dipped in the consomme. But considering the consomme's saltiness, this doesn't quite match my favorite birria around town. By the way, all of their birria tacos come as tacos dorados, aka tacos w/ crispy tortillas. Not sure about to-go orders, but for my dine-in, they brought out lime wedges, some extra cilantro and onion, and some salsa. Both salas were pretty spicy; the orange one was more in what I'd call the "hot" range, while the tomatillo landed merely in the "medium" level (although I'd hoped for it to be mild). They also provided water in a lidded soda fountain cup. Los Arcos is a great taqueria and a solid birria spot. Don't go too far out of your way to visit unless you're just going to thread through all of the taquerias and/or birrierias, in which case go ahead and try it. read more
