Great food and attentive service. We started with a couple great guacamole and chips along with a bucket of beers. The 4 of us had 3 different molcajete all of which were huge and we had a large take home box to go. The bill came to $200 for the 5 of us plus a $40 tip. We went on a week night and avoided the usual crowd with loud music and mariachi bands.

Be adventurous and get off the strip. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of options. I am always skeptical of extensive menus. I ordered a torta and was not disappointed. Delicious, soft bread; the meat was seasoned well and very large--plenty of food for two people. I think people wouldn't give it a try because of the location. I don't see many tourists trying this place. Give it a try.

Although it's not in the best neighborhood in Las Vegas , the food was worth taking the risk for. They're known for their Molcajate, which are basically an assortment of meats and ingredients inside a stone bowl. The bowl came out piping hot and the carne asada and chicken were very juicy and flavorful. I believe they made the tortillas in house as they tasted very fresh and had a nice chew to it. I also got their margarita which had a generous amount to it and I definitely did not need seconds. The atmosphere is lively and friendly with a mariachi band playing in the background which made it even more fun. The locals here seem to enjoy it so it's definitely a good sign you should try it too!

Great service and food Minus the 1 star for ambiance. I came here for the first time ever after living in this side of town for almost my whole life. They just allow anyone's dad or uncle in here to sing songs and it was really nice until it was disturbing. 3 guys come in with a guitar and ask to sing you a song for tips and then another 3 and then another 3. It was weird and obnoxious honestly. We gave in to let one group sing a song Then they asked for a $30 tip. Odd. Solution: This place would do well with a permanent stage for performers to rotate*

Decided to try this place based on the YELP REVIEWS, let me tell you! It didn't disappoint! The food was so, so delicious! They had live music and the service was good! I ordered a margarita and it was ok, not the best I've had but the molcajete was bomb! Enough for my husband and I, the portion was very large, we couldn't finish the whole thing. Definitely going back when I am back in Vegas!

The food, the service and the restaurant were all 5 stars! The restaurant was clean, warm and beautifully decorated. The chairs are comfy and tables nicely spaced. The team was super accommodating with our surprise party of 9 and super kind. They brought out a complimentary birthday shot and dessert - haven't had that in a long time! The queso dip was so yummy and filling I could have left with just that and been filled up. The steak items were cooked perfectly and the enchiladas had an aftertaste I can't place but had me going back for bite after bite!

Tried this place out since we're nearby and heard great things. It's a cute restaurant. Friendly staff and food was good. We opted to share the macho molcajete. And we had a carne asada sope. There was some mariachis that came in to sing as well very festive.

Bomb ass soup. Got the caldo de pollo and my friend got the albondigas, both were so good and had flavorful broth. Good service also :)

Delicious molcajetes. Had a few over the years and they don't tend to disappoint. They're also fully loaded, no skimping on portion sizes.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

It's close to work, but it's not usually my regular lunch spot because it's not the cheapest option. That said, the portions are huge and easily big enough to share, so you definitely get a lot of food for your money. They've also added a new addition to the restaurant since my last visit; a beautiful bar area that looks amazing! The bartender, Yaz, was absolutely wonderful. So friendly and welcoming, and just added to the whole experience. I ordered the Del Mar burrito, and wow! It was packed with crispy white fish and shrimp, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. The combination of flavors was so good, and of course, their salsa is the bomb! I absolutely LOVED La Vecindad and highly recommend checking it out when you're in Las Vegas!…read more We did have to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, which wasn't the most enjoyable because it was so hot outside. We ended up waiting in our cars with the AC on. But I have to say--the wait was completely worth it! The moment you walk inside, the atmosphere is so much fun. The restaurant is busy and lively, with great music, colorful decorations, and so many details inspired by El Chavo del Ocho. I grew up watching the show, so being here brought back so many childhood memories. There are paintings and decorations from the show everywhere--even the bathroom is decorated! Our family was seated in the Escuelita room, and we had an absolute blast. The waiters and staff are even dressed as characters from the show, and they play music from El Chavo del Ocho. It really feels like you've stepped into La Vecindad! Despite how busy the restaurant was, the customer service was great. Our waiter was friendly, patient, helpful, and gave us some excellent food recommendations. And the FOOD! Everything we tried was delicious and seasoned to perfection. The café de olla was amazing--not overly sweet and just perfect. The molcajete was delicious and HUGE; it is definitely large enough for two people to share. We also tried the carnitas plate and carne asada plate, and I highly recommend both. The portions are very generous, so come hungry! I attached a few photos of the restaurant and our food because there is so much to see and enjoy here. Overall, we had such a great experience. Friendly and fun staff, delicious food, great music, large portions, and an amazing nostalgic atmosphere. If you grew up watching El Chavo del Ocho, you'll appreciate this place even more. Highly recommend La Vecindad! We absolutely loved it and would definitely come back!
