Jim came out and gave me an estimate for the work I wanted done. The estimate was very reasonable. Cause this is the second time that I've used them. So I know the quality of their work. The crew arrived at the agreed upon time. Very polite and professional. Did a great job!! Recommended them to my neighbor across the alley. And she was very satisfied with their work. read more

Very professional and respectful of my property. Reasonable price and really great team members. Their concern for minimize any damage and safety was perfect. The end result was, you would never know they were there. THANKS! read more

I hired Briarwood Tree to remove back , side and front trees (5) then clean out and remove overgrown trees thru a fence and clean up the area of my fence that fell a few weeks ago. But nooo he tore up my yard destroyed my stone circle where the three Oak trees were, and then the manager left and didn't tell me how he was going to fix it. I had to get the guys (the worker guys ) help put it back together, then they tore up the yard with holes, forklift tire tracks, a tree hole not filled in after being removed, then did the same thing to the front yard.. And never heard from the company yet... read more

I had Brichwood trim my trees over a month ago. They damaged my siding and I am now being avoided from the owner to address and fix the issue. It is likely the entire side of my once perfect aluminum wall will need to be replaced as the one spot cannot be fixed. After acknowledging this, the owner offered a whopping 250 dollars off the tree trimming... This is very unprofessional and I would recommend doing business with a company with more integrity. read more

We have used Birchwood for several tree removal and trimming projects and have always been completely satisfied with their service, professionalism and timeliness. Jim and his staff are always courteous. When taking down trees in our backyard, Jim made sure to let our next door neighbor know that they would be hauling trees past her house. Very thoughtful! read more

Did a fine job. Trimmed a huge tree in my yard and took them maybe 30 minutes, so it seemed a little rushed to me-but I am not sure how long this type of work takes. Cleaned up my yard and did what they said. Not super friendly people to work with so if that's something you care about maybe pay more to have someone do your job. read more

SCAM- Cut the wrong half of the tree that we asked for for a free of £250. When we pointed this out they asked for a further £250 to rectify the issue. He started getting aggressive and told us to meet him at the Belvedere Caravan Park..? He said that he would be happy to dump the waste on our car park and leave without payment. When asking for recorded verification he changed his story, so we paid for the terrible job he did. He essentially wanted between £500-£1000 for one small tree. Do not give these scammers your business. read more

I'd like to give a big thank you to Birchwood Tree Services for the excellent job they did today with my large tree that required removal. Jim and his team are the utmost professionals. They are very skilled and ensured the job was completed with the utmost care for my house and property. They are also very reasonably priced. Birchwood is the service to call for all your tree needs. I couldn't be happier with the quality job they did for me. read more

I was referred to Birchwood this past summer (2020) right after we moved to Palatine. Our front and back yard needed, and still needs to this day, some work done. Jeff came out and gave us a quote to have three large, overgrown bushes and a large, lingering trunk taken out of our front yard. The crew at Birchwood showed up a few days later and were in and out within 30 minutes. They quickly removed all three bushes and the trunk, ground the bushes down, removed the stumps, and thoroughly cleaned up after. The only part that threw me for a curve was them showing up a couple days earlier than we agreed to on the proposal. Thankfully I'm working from home full time; and also thankful I didn't have a conference call scheduled at the time. In short, it was a non-issue. I'd advise these folks to call customers to check to see if they're available before showing up. Perhaps they already do that, and for whatever reason with my project they just didn't. No big deal! I'd recommend this business and will probly be giving them a call back for work we need down this year. read more

Birchwood removed 5 dead pines, an elm on the fence line, trimmed up 2 maples, a linden and a birch. I could not be happier. It looks like I have a new yard. The workers were safe, fast, and cleaned up everything. Price was very reasonable. read more

Jim is great to work with. I asked for a quote one day and he was out with the quote the next day. We got a great price as well. I would and will recommend them to everyone that needs a great service service. read more

Jim and his crew just did a wonderful job. We had them trim a flowering crab and a very large honey locust tree. They were here on time, worked safely and efficiently, and cleaned up perfectly. He has a great eye for shaping the trees and nice guys to work with! Thanks for a great job! read more

Jim and his team were great. Below are the factors for my five star review. Price - I had three trees and 10 huge bushes removed by Jim and he was much cheaper than my other three quotes - hired him on the spot. Expertise - I had Jim come out to see if we could keep a tree, but his honesty and knowledge lead us to understand the tree couldn't be saved and needed to come down. He also recommended new trees to be planted and worked with me and my wife to understand the pros and cons. Service - Jim and his team showed up and within two hours had everything removed. They were professional and even trimmed our other trees. It's worth getting a quote from Jim if you need to have any kind of tree / plant removal. read more

Very happy with their work and price! They trimmed a huge tree in our yard and it looks great :)

We moved into our new house in April and the yard was so overgrown. We cut down a lot of trees ourselves and piled them in the backyard. We wanted to get someone out to remove them. We talked to our neighbor and he recommended Birchwood. I called and Jim the owner came out for a quote quickly. He quote was so cheap, I couldn't believe it so we immediately agreed to have him do the work. We got a package deal where they would remove all trees we needed and cut down any we needed and grind stumps. They came out promptly at 7 am like they had said with a team of at least 10-15 men. They had the massive tree in our front yard down in minutes. Man how efficient. They stayed for about 3 hours and had our yard cleared quickly. The grinded down a bunch of stumps so were left with some holes to fill but that was easy. Great company, would use them again when needed! read more

We have a big maple tree in our backyard (Arlington Hts) with lots of dead branches that needed to be removed and pruning to raise and balance it's canopy. Jim & crew did a fine job and even strapped a bat house high up on the south east side of the tree for us! (I'm hoping bats will make themselves at home and eat flies & mosquitos in our yard next summer.) Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend Birchwood Services :-) read more

Rep came two days later than promised. Looked at my Blue spruce and said " I can cut the top off the tree" $200. No reason why it's dying or that there is sap that looks like milk running down the 31 year old trunk. I've already had two other companies out ( they came when promised) and both gave me the exact same diagnosis with options. If your looking for a REAL arborist, fo not call Birchwood Services. read more

I received an estimate within 48 hours and it was extremely reasonable for trimming 3 large trees. The work was completed approximately a week later and we are very happy with the work. My neighbor used this company and was very happy with the work and I could see the quality job done. I asked for a quote, it was very reasonable and asked the to do the work. The staff that came to the house was great to work with, job was completed in a reasonable time, the clean up left nothing for me to do. Will use them again read more

The quote was fair, the guys were here on time, got the job done, and cleaned up perfectly. I have had other companies trim my trees over the years, Birchwood will be the only company I call in the future. I would highly recommend them. read more

A tree snapped in half in a wind storm and Birchwood came quickly, removed the tree & stump and all the debris. They were very efficient and the price was the best so we are happy and would recommend to all. read more

Birchwood helped trim up a tree in our backyard that was hanging over into our neighboors yard. Their pricing was the most competitive and they were able to get the work done the same week, and in a very timely fashion. The employee that came out to quote the project was also very helpful in educating me about the tree that needed the work. We will definitely be calling them again when we need more work done. read more

I contacted several tree services, and Birchwood was the only company that responded immediately. They came out in the next few days, gave me a quote, and then followed up 2 days later. The other tree companies, never contacted me, and some of them just showed up at my house and left a quote. Which is fine, except I mentioned in all my messages that I wanted more than just the two trees taken down. Birchwood took the time to find out exactly what I wanted/needed done. They were also responsive, which was very hard for me to find. So I decided to go with Birchwood because the price was reasonable and they had great customer service. Fast forward, 1 week. They came out when they said they would, they were fast and efficient. They cleaned up everything. And! They even put up with my neighbor came over and was directing them to cut down more stuff. (Ha!) anyway, they did a fantastic job, and it's almost unbelievable how much they did in such a short amount of time for such a reasonable price. They were amazing and I will be recommending them to everyone. read more

Very happy with Jim and his crew Did great job cleaning up and trimming everything I wanted and more!! He helped me with making decisions and always got back to me returning my phone calls. Also, easy to talk to. Finally a tree service I am happy with! I highly recommend them!!! read more

Had them trim down 3 trees on our house. Great quality, reasonable prices based on other estimates, and was quick when they were here. Quote was dropped in our mailbox, no need to be home. Played phone tag a little when scheduling, but it's busy season and so what can you do. Recommend contacting the office to setup the service. Intend to use them again when we need them trimmed next time. read more

Been using Birchwood for years. I quit getting other quotes after the 2nd time I used them. Price is always good. Work is always good. Jim is super easy to work with also which makes a huge difference in any work done on your home. Make changes; ask if he can "just" do one other thing while he's there; never a problem. read more
