Went in as a first time doner and came out fat shamed I am a large to extra large female the lady working was checking my veins after she was done she said we can't accept you as a doner looked at my hips and clicked her tongue and said your anatomy isn't good enough anyways read more

Very unprofessional, very slow and clumbsy business. My final straw from this place (not to mention the horrible sticks they do, multiple bruises and amount of careless pain they occur, and they act like don't care) I had two occurrences where when taking a needle out of someone sitting next to me, the residue from the needle actually shot over and hit me in the face, (once on the lip). Biomat is a much better business to go to, from my experience read more

I received a coupon for a $800 bonus for donating 8 times as a new donor. I donated and received $90, $90, $90, $100. Then on my next donation, they decided that I was chosen to do a protein test. Because of this, I did not get to donate and was told it would take 7 to 10 business days. Well, I was not informed until 12/20/23 that I could donate again. I tried to schedule my next 2 donations but was not able to because there were no dates available until that Saturday which would have only allowed me 1 donation for that week but I scheduled it. I tried to schedule my 2 donations for the next week but because I scheduled for the previous Saturday, It would only allow 1 donation for the week of Christmas. This has now gone past my coupon usage as it expired. I sent two emails to BioLife in Japan where their main office is AND I contacted management at the Milwaukee, WI Silver Spring location. I was told by Corporate to contact the manager at my location. The manager Danielle told me there was nothing she could do and she would give me $25 extra for 2 weeks. I left messages for the Supervisor JT to call me back and it has been over a week now with NO responce from her either. It is sad when a company offers you additional funds that you were counting on receiving, has you take a protein test that was not your doing but won't honor their coupon and compensate you for their doing. I lost out on $430 originally but with the extra 2 $25 payments, it brings it to $380, I feel the company should have compensated everyone for doing that test and not honoring their coupon. I continue to go because I need the extra $380 a month, but this is not an acceptable practice from a company. I do have to say that the other staff minus the managers at this facility are very friendly and the facility is very nice. read more

I love biolife, but ever since they got the new machines, the employees have no pep in their step. It takes me longer to get in and out than it did when they used the slow machines. The weekend staff is horrible. Had an appointment at 2:10 was not helped until 3:03, while people who got there AFTER me were helped and had a stick put in. It sucks because sometimes we have places to be and when they move at a snails pace it holds everyone back. Makes me not want to go back. read more

Today was my 3rd donation and so far my experience has been excellent. The staff has been friendly and answer any questions I have. The first appointment I knew would be lenghy due to the long questionaire and the physical.. But I was still impressed on what these folks do. Yes it does seem a bit hectic there but people need to understand that these workers are performing to the best of their abilities to save lives!! And that is my goal too. I have always wanted to donate plasma and when I finally made the decision to do it this made me feel good inside knowing I was helping another person with what ever disease or illness that they were experiencing. I was always know as a "hard Stick" with rolling veins but they told me my veins looked excellent. I believe it has been due to eating healthier. I would recommend Biolife to anyone looking to help others live better lives. read more

I got a tattoo back in May 2022 for Friday the 13th and another in September 2022. I noted both tattoos at my yearly physical in April of 2023 but only one of them got put in my record. This year I saw that it wasn't recorded and told them about it. A few days later, I get a call saying I'm permanently deferred because of it! I understand protocol but there are no other places near me that compensate for donation and I don't know of any similar options. It just seems really unfair that I am being punished for something I did not do. read more

Very friendly staff and clean facilities. In and out usually within one hour . I have recommended to some of my friends. Nice to save lives and make a little money at the same time. Win win read more

Bio Life on Silver Spring Dr. Milwaukee, WI is staffed and run with best practices. Each staff is keenly aware of all clients in all sections of the facility. Not one client is forgotten. Additionally, the staff are very team player oriented. When someone needs something another staff member will help each other. I've donated 6 times and each time the plasma draw went perfectly. I haven't even had any bruised skin or blood leaking beneath the skin. Since one of my household members is unemployed these donations helped our home. Most importantly, helps pregnant women who are Rh incompatible, burn victims, bleeding disorders and immunity issues. Now that should motivate healthy adults who weigh more than 110 pounds. The APP is very easy to use too. read more

I always enjoy my hr of down time while donating. I've donated over 350x here and one thing has been consistent....the great staff!

I really wish I could give BioLife a 5 star review, but there were a few hiccups that were pretty noticeable. About a month ago, I had my first appointment at BioLife after being told by a few of my friends that it's a good and easy way to make some extra money, so I decided to donate some plasma. When I first got there, I wasn't greeted and the staff seemed really busy and overwhelmed, which is TOTALLY okay because I know that they are working hard. But, at the end of the day, they really should probably have a designated receptionist rather than all of them just running around ... they just seemed to lack organization. When I was eventually called up, the woman that helped me seemed very scatter brained and interrupted me at least 4 times to talk to other employees, customers, and to use her radio. So that was a little unsettling. Once she took all my information, my ID, SSN, email, etc, I had to take a questionnaire that was pretty lengthy, but it is very informative and necessary. After that, I was taken back into a separate private room to get a physical and the nurse that performed my physical was AMAZING! I did not catch her name but she was so kind and personable. She had long dark hair and was shorter, but I never got the chance to see her name :( Because of a condition that I have, I was deferred from donating plasma and I was told that a board of physicians would need to check if my condition is safe for plasma donation, so I went home and waited for a phone call about if I could donate or not. The next day, I got a phone call saying that I was cleared and was able to donate plasma, so I made a new appointment to get the physical done again and hopefully donate! So...today I finally got to donate plasma!! Unfortunately, I did notice the same tendencies that I noticed before; they just seemed a little overwhelmed and rushed, but they were pretty busy. The nurse that did the physical was super kind and made me feel very comfortable donating. The technician, I think her name was Allison, was also very very kind and made sure that I was okay and feeling comfortable. After I was done donating, I was told to sit in the waiting area for 15 minutes and wait. After 30 minutes I was confused and went to ask if I could go and the worker told me that she forgot about the timer they had set and that i was all set to go home. Again, not a big deal at all...she was really nice about it and I kinda assumed that they forgot about me sitting there. Overall, my donation was a good experience and they have some really great people working there who clearly show a passion for their job. I would highly recommend going there if you want to make some extra cash. The only thing that could be improved was the overall flow of communication and workload. read more

I donated here in the past and moved away. When I moved back I lived near the Eisenhower location so decided to go there but the awful arrogant attitude of the supervisors there and the incompetence sent me running. This location near the mall quickly sorted everything out for me quickly and with a smile. Laura called to remind me of my appointment and even helped me reschedule when I had to. She was just as nice and friendly when I went in. The nurse also who did my physical was a total sweetheart. The supervisor tended to my needs as they anticipated my visit and the process was completely quick and painless lol I would strongly recommend this location. Also, new donors this month receive 500 in 8 donations which is generally unheard of so I would strongly encourage everyone to go. read more

Very dis- organized and very poor communication! Myself, several of my family members, and I've seen other people come in and get frustrated due to poor communication. Yesterday my daughter came in for her physical that was set for 530. She sat there for an hour, and 15 minutes, and then was told by the nurse that she didn't have time to see her. This is inexcusable! This nurse was apparently was quite rude. When my daughter was telling me about it, she stated that nurse acted as if she was superior to my daughter. That nurse may have a BSN but my daughter also has a bachelors degree and in her masters program so she's not above her. Keep it up guys you're losing a lot of business! To add insult to injury, my daughter Has recovered from COVID-19, Meaning they turned away plasma that would have antibodies to help someone with COVID-19. read more

Bio life is a joke! On a Wednesday evening I made an appointment for that Friday. When I came in on Friday, they couldn't find my name on their list of appointments made. But, they did have an opening at the same time. "Perfect" I thought. So they called my name and I basically gave them my life information. Which took about 30 minutes. The guy helping me said everything was going so well. Then he took me back to make sure my veins were acceptable. I only had one acceptable vein, he said "sorry, you can't donate at this time, come back in 6 months to try again." Why the fuck don't they see if your veins are "acceptable" before wasting your time taking your information. read more

This was the first location i ever donated plasma at and i was pretty impressed with the overall operation at this location (very quick, efficient, clean, pleasant staff, etc. .). The first appointment took a bit of time due to physical and all the questions they asked you. I am not sure if they have changed their procedures or not (based on a couple people complaining about not having good veins), but the very first thing they did was check to see whether my veins were good enough before doing anything else. I can usually get in and out in about an hour. If it is taking you longer to donate, look up tips online for speeding up donation process. there are plenty. I only have two suggestions for the owners. 1) unless i just completely missed something - maybe you should have "water" more easily accessible. They have coffee or hot water for tea, but i haven't found regular cold water yet (other than the bathrooms). 2) am i the only person who things a small snack or piece of fruit would be appropriate for donors? last time i donated blood they had snacks. Yes i know i didn't get paid for that, but just seems like it is missing :-) read more

Great Staff. The kid's center is very friendly and convenient.

Complete waste of time. They said they couldn't get to a vein well enough so come back in 6 months to have my time wasted again. If you can come in and get plugged in easy like a plasma producing cow, they'll be happy to see you otherwise they don't have time for you. read more

I stopped in a week ago to have them transfer my records from another state. The lady seemed not overly friendly at that time like I was inconveniencing her. I called back today to see if they had my records yet or how long it would take. Turns out the first lady never submitted the request! The staff member I spoke to on the phone today was very friendly and helpful and I am confident she submitted the request as she did it while I was on the phone with her. I guess I will find out in 7-10 days! I feel that if they valued my plasma and my donation they would have submitted the request the first time. I will write a second review when/if I ever get to donate! read more

This is the 2nd Biolife clinic I have donated at - I used to go to the Menasha one (which was fine also). The place is clean and spacious, you are not too close to the donator next to you, the employees are friendly (a little robotic but they do see a stream of faces day in and day out I guess) and when you are finished they have great coffee! Takes about an hour - I usually go early afternoon so there is not much, if any, wait time in line. When I had my physical there, they didn't look at my veins until halfway into the appointment (my veins are fine), so I can understand other reviewers being a little perturbed that they just don't look at your veins first - but all in all, a great place to make easy money (tax free too!) read more

very experienced and friendly...my veins are smaller and they are patient with how long it takes sometimes. Sometimes I can't donate because my hct is low but that's at no fault to theirs. Very clean and the staff is always friendly! read more

Friendly staff who work very fast. Never had an issue at this location. If you do not go at busy times, you can get in and out in less than an hour. Would recommend to anyone looking for a little side-cash! read more

I had an appointment on 5/7/19 at 3:25 and went in to the screening station after completing my questionnaire and started the screening process with the technician. After drawing my blood sample, the technician inserted my sample tube into the separator and after my temp and BP was approved removed the test tube to find that the tube had broken in the separator. She cleaned a little blood that had spilled on the machine but didn't do anything in cleaning what blood may have been inside the machine nor did she investigate why the tube broke. This seemed strange to me but she referenced a procedure book, punched in what I assume was an incident code and went on to draw another sample from a different finger. Placing the sample tube in the separator, the same thing happened again. The technician promptly turned to me and said that because I had been picked twice and the MACHINE failed I was to be denied. To say the least, I became very upset. I never blamed the technician nor did I get abusive to her because I understand that it wasn't her fault. She called over the "senior" technician who reiterated that because the machine failed I was to be denied. I again reiterated that it wasn't my fault, and he replied that "I could come back tomorrow" which is always seems to be the center technicians bail out response when there is a denial. I've been denied before because my hermetic level was above your acceptable level of 54 - I get that and understand it's my fault. This was something different, and out of my control. I have 900+ donations and have seen a lot of mistakes made (that I had no control of) that caused me to be denied a chance to donate. Once the technician incorrectly entered my vitals into the system and I was denied. In my opinion there should be a manager involved in situations like human and or mechanical failure where it is not the donor's fault for a denied visit. I have two days a week that I'm able to donate plasma so "you can come back and donate tomorrow" is NEVER a solution. I lost a donation and will not be able to make my Platinum ($70) bonus for this week because of it. I am not comfortable complaining about getting paid for donating a resource needed to help others, but you're the ones creating the payment system and I feel I'm getting screwed because of your procedures in how someone is denied as a donor. I also feel that there is too much human intervention in the screening process. I think all of the tested components should have no human interaction, be automated and be able to be overridden by a management or supervisor person in charge. I think the weight check, blood pressure, body temperature, and hermetic level should be automated and the resulting numbers automatically entered into the system. The only human interaction should be to draw the blood sample and insert it into the separator and to install the blood pressure cuff. If there is a denial, then there should be more effort placed into resolving why there was a denial. If it is hermetic level maybe draw another sample to double check for accuracy. If there is a mechanical failure check out why rather than just punch in a code and enter a sample into a broken machine to create another lost sample. There needs to be better procedures put in place because the ones you're working with now make the donors feel less that a sheep being fleeced. Being denied is a traumatic experience and it is obvious that your personnel haven't been trained very well in handling how to deny someone. This incident ruined the rest of that afternoon for me and I'm still upset writing this message. read more

Its kind of strange how only three days ago the woman who posted below me had the exact same thing happen to her. When I first walked into this biolife center I was greeted by a rude stare from one of the ladies who looked like a bigger version of uma thurmon. She made me feel stupid when I was asking her questions since this was the first time ive ever been to this center before. Then I go get my arms checked and I believe the exact same man that denied the girl below denied me because on one arm my veins were "too small" and that using one arm is bad for customer service because of the bruising.....what? What did that even mean? I think they are bullshitting and just dont want to accept new patients for their own pleasure of trying to find a vein. I have been going to a different biolife for about 2 years and they only used one arm on me.... (no bruising...ever....). I do not recommend this center merely for the fact that they are clearly turning down patients for stupid reasons that dont even make sense. read more
