You won't need a trip to Asheville to visit THIS Biltmore. And the prices at this one, on that strip of mostly Korean-owned shops on west Bryn Mawr (not far from the Northeastern Illinois University campus), are more reasonable. It's major competition is farther to the west, Davis Imperial (which is excellent for a much higher price). Although I never asked, the young man and older women manning the counter seem to be of the same family. And they are both friendly and cordial. I read on this page complaints about price, particularly for alterations. I disagree that Biltmore's is higher than the norm. And you usually choose a cleaner based on its convenience for you. One thing to understand about the prices, since Biltmore has its own plant on the premises, its dry cleaning prices reflect what it wants to pay its staff and keep the good ones from jumping ship. There is not much mark-up possible on the dry cleaning prices, so the hand labor of alterations is where they tend to make their profits. If it's convenience you are after, have Biltmore make those alterations. If, on the other hand, the work might be more exacting, there is a great tailor just across the street (see my review for "Ji's Tailor"). The only plausible option on this page for the parking at Biltmore is "Street," but the actual situation is better than that: there is a 2-car reserved space at the sidewalk outside of Biltmore. You can park there free for 15 minutes by leaving your emergency flashers on. So you can ignore the Daley/Emanuel meter system, if you are quick about it. read more

BEWARE. New owners and I was optimistic that the service would remain the same. Wrong! I took a pair of slacks in to have a hook and eye replaced. I've been going there for years but then ownership changes this year. They got my order wrong four times. Altering clothing incorrectly and this week a pair of pants they hemmed one month ago- the hem fell! I'm not going back to them becuase of their incompetence. When you walk into Biltmore there is a very strong fragrance. I didn't know if it was cologne or those incense oils but it's overkill. When I picked up my shirts and pants they all had this very same smell. I have washed my shirts several times since picking them up and even soaked them in vinegar. This smell will not come out! If you're sensitive to fragrance, strong chemicals, or just don't want to smell like something other than how you normally smell, BEWARE! read more

Brought in two suits to be altered after weight loss. Tapered the coats to reflect a more modern cut and took in the waist on the pants and tapered them to get rid of the baggy look. Dry cleaned and pressed. Picked up in one week. Tried both suits on and they looked fantastic. Fairly priced and friendly service. Highly recommended. Please support a local neighborhood business. First time writing a bad review as our experience is outrageously bad... brought in a new silk blouse for dry clean for the 1st time and its sleeves came out to be ripped. Judging by the ripped patten (there are almost a cross looking ripped lines at the bottom of the sleeves), it's apparent that they put the silk shirt into press machines instead of ironing by hand (which is what you are supposed to do with silk shirts). The owners had no intention to apologize and were very rude; what's worse is after some arguing they started to claim they saw the sleeves ripped when we brought the shirt in. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this shop. There are far more better options in this neighborhood. read more

Overpriced, unfriendly, taking my business somewhere else.. $18 to take out pants? adding insult to injury, I was not satisfied with the results. After this incident, I vowed never to go back but last week i wanted some pants hemmed, it was an "emergency": well I was leaving town and wanted to take this suit with me so needed the pants back same day. As soon as the lady heard same day, she just stomped off, shaking her head with such vigor I was afraid her neck would snap. Biltmore cleaners is a very professional and efficient establishment. I can honestly say that I've never had a problem with any of their services. My only beef is PRICE. I was in need of having a zipper replaced on one of my favorite retro skirts - $14! This price did not include cleaning, just the zipper. AAhhhh Yikes? Hell, I could have made another skirt for less. Yes, I am quite familiar with the sayings, "you get what you pay for" and "you must spend money to get superior quality service"... but geesh. Next time I'm going to find someone with a sewing machine and replace the zipper myself or find a place within my budget that can provide quality service. It shouldn't be that difficult. read more

She always knows what I want, which is great customer service. I have never had problems with the cleaning of my clothing or missing items, etc. The only minor issue I have is the price per item, which is about $3-$4. Avoid their tailoring services. I had a simple concern - the waist in my new pair of jeans was too big. For $12 (!) they ended up folding over the excess fabric in the back and sewing it into pleated seams. Now I have pleats right above my pockets that look dorky and make for an unflattering fit to the seat of the pant. My new jeans now look like 'mom jeans'. I will not be coming back. read more
