Review Date: June 6th, 2016 Aside from beer, they have deliciousness on tap. I think I discovered this place while looking at online lists of unique or delicious places to try. I figured Canton isn't a terribly long drive for me if I made it a day to travel and see other things around Billy's Tap. Guess what. That's exactly what my girlfriend and I did. We made plans to check out the Tap and other places in the area. We rolled up on a quiet afternoon. Canton is a small town so I assume most days are quiet around there. We stopped before entering to take some fun photos with the giant log painted on the wall. Well, I posed for some photos. My shy girlfriend isn't one to draw attention to herself... being shy and all. We headed in and were greeted by an excellent pub. The place had this classiness to it that I didn't expect from a small town. I could see how this place was on a few list of 'must try' places. None of that matters if the food is awful though, so we grabbed a seat and go to ordering. BBQ bacon burgers are our usual menu item to order and we were able to order something along those lines at Billy's Tap. Since we still had some driving and exploring to do, we declined to get too much food and be miserable. Just the bacon burgers and we split some french fries. Our waitress was small-town friendly and made some small talk while we sat there, taking in the scenery. I can't express how amazed I was at how nice this place was. I was also amazed at the sight of our food when it came out. Despite getting an order of french fries to split between us, there was a huge pile of them that could've been a meal of it's own. As for the slab of meat between the patties, that just looked fantastic. I was amazed at the interior. I was amazed at how the food looked. Was I amazed at how it tasted. Heck yes, I was. Each bite of the burger was succulent and full of juices and flavor. Each bite was heaven for this carnivorous man. The bacon had that nice crisp to it that I loved while remaining greasy at the same time. It's how I cook my bacon at home. The meat patty was the same. Juicy but not to the point where it would leave juices running down your chin. This thing was easily a Top 10 if not Top 5 burger for me. The only thing it was missing was the BBQ sauce but that's not going to count against it. Just a personal preference. Again, I could see why this place made it on some lists. This place seems somewhat unassuming on the outside but the second you walk in, you know you are in for a treat. Simply put: incredible food, amazing service. Was in town working with a small crew, asked the customer if they had any recommendations for lunch - was told by several people the ONLY place they would recommend is Billy's Tap... for lunch, dinner, and beverages. This place is happening, we came in at 11:15am, grabbed a table and by 11:30(ish) was standing room only with people waiting for an opening... and I can tell you why: FOOD WAS AMAZING! We tried a few different appetizers (spicy green beans are a new favorite)... but I don't think I've ever been out with a group that was 100% satisfied and surprised (all around)... Billy's Tap is a bar, but there's no doubt they are also one hell of a restaurant... try it, you will NOT be disappointed! read more

One of the coolest dives I've been into. The staff was awesome, great selection of all types of drinks (including craft, which is awesome). I went to a few bars in the area, but this one was definitely the most memorable. We even got to keep our Billy's Tap branded glasses since we were tourists and wanted to remember the place! Again Yelp did it again. What a terrific place. Has outdoor and indoor seating. This is a must visit if you are in Canton. The staff could not be nicer. You could see that they enjoyed their jobs. Heard about this place's burgers so decided to stop in to see what all the fuss was all about. As soon as we came up to the building we smelt a delicious aroma. Opened the door to find the place packed wall to wall. Tonight's feature was build your own burger or build your own pizza. I had the pizza and the hubby had the burger. DELICIOUS!!!! Prices were CHEAP and portions were more than generous. Atmosphere was up to date with huge TV'S and modern decor. Fun lively crowd and music. On the recommendation of my uncle we lunched at Billy's Tap! I had been wanting a Fried Pork Tenderloin sandwich and they had one on the menu here. Great sandwich just how I remember this Midwest staple to be. The menu had several options and a lot of folks seem to like their burgers there so next time I visit I may have to try that. Billy's Tap has been around Canton since about 1948 and looks to be one of those old school established places, that has been revamped a bit for a newer generation of customer. Lunch time is usually crowded according to my uncle and the place has a fairly small kitchen so if you visit on a crowded day make sure you plan plenty of time for lunch. Also looks like the have a DJ on some nights and may be sort of a club environment in the evenings. Billy's Tap is a nice bar/restaurant to visit in Canton. It's clean, spacious, and service is nice. Wait time for the food does take quite awhile, so be prepared to drink and clear your schedule. For out-of-town burger lovers, this place is a necessary stop if you are in Canton. Their menu boasts about how they have the best burgers in Canton. I am inclined to agree with them. I especially loved their bleu burger. It was loaded with onions and bleu cheese. The hamburger patty was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. On the other hand, other menu items such as their appetizers and sandwiches tend to fall short. My coworkers were not a fan of their philly steak, fish sandwich, Mini corn dogs, or Reuben. While in Canton for the Arts Fair, friend and I came upon Billy's Tap. What a pleasant surprise to find this Gem just a short walk from the square. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly server, drinks served (beer with ice cold mugs), and food ordered. I see now that the hamburgers are what keep folks coming back, however the sweet potato fries and the dipping sauce were so good that we were both giddy and asked for the recipe, the owner herself came over and shared. Back from Denver visiting parents. Asked Facebook where to go to lunch. Hands down multiple quick responses said #BillysTap and to try the #Burgers. Well we did and they are fantastic. Super thick 1/2 pound Patty a truly beautifully flavored juicy burger smothered in fresh melted cheese and bacon. $7 bucks for real? Was amazing and filling. Could have easily split a meal lol. Also the #FriedPickles we're literally the best we've ever had and we get the often and at many places. #MozzSticks were boss as well. Great atmosphere and service just wait awhile patiently for the food as it's worth it for being freshly cooked. What a Canton staple now for us. Glad I introduced my parents to Billy's as well. I'm a Billys regular, especially in the evening. I really can't say enough about this establishment. Billys opens for lunch at 11 and serves food until 2, Monday through Saturday. The lunch special changes daily and, at least a few times a week or so, will feature something that you are unlikely to find in other restaurants in town. The burgers there are, in my opinion, top notch. Hands down, there isn't a better place in Canton for a burger. There are plenty of other awesome lunch options, but the burgers are where it's at. If you're looking for a couple beers and a burger; look no further. Here the meal will cost you around $20 if you're drinking craft beer. After lunch is over at 2 it's drinks all day. You can also order frozen pizzas that are cooked behind the bar for about $8, if I remember correctly. The drink selection here is off the charts, especially for a smaller town. I'm a craft beer guy and always find something to keep my interest up here. A good craft beer will usually run you about $3.50 or so, but occasionally something rare will pop up on draft and that may run a bit more. Totally worth it. The place is clean and the service is always great. If you haven't been to Billys Tap and have the chance to then you really should. You won't regret the experience! read more
