Had a great dinner at Bistro 101 and will definitely be back. I started with the side salad with vinegar and oil dressing, which was fresh and simple, exactly what I was looking for. For my entrée, I ordered the filet mignon cooked medium rare, and it was excellent. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, making it a great spot for a nice dinner out. It's awesome to have a restaurant in Canton serving food of this quality. Highly recommend giving Bistro 101 a try! read more

I have traveled a lot and this restaurant is a rare find! The food is unique and extremely flavorful! The menu changes throughout the year, and I have enjoyed many a wonderful meal accompanied by a nice seasonal cocktail, which also changes. Staff is pleasant, efficient and accommodating. Sorry, Bistro. You maintain a three this time due to your spectacular food. First off, when I called to make our reservation, they acted like they were too busy. Like, panting after the phone rang *forever*. Our waitress was ABSOLUTELY clueless. They were really busy so perhaps she was a cousin who popped in to help. Useless. Hubby said there were 2 big parties that may have gotten the REAL waitresses. Since she could answer no menu questions, the "head" chef (they said) was called in. But we'd seen him sweeping/ washing dishes. And he wasn't much better (I later saw the menu had been rewritten to clarify one issue) The menu was screwed up and 2 entrees were missing. (Not available). One in our party watched another tables' aggravation. Website advertised Thursday's 1/2 off wine, $1 off any craft beer. The website's as messed up as the menu! Of course that promotion ended long ago. My grits weren't completely hot, but they were delish!!!! 8 gorgeous shrimp!Portions are huge , hands down! And hubby had the beloved pork chops. Fantastic gem nestled in downtown Canton. We started with amazing seasonal cocktails, and fabulous appetizers. The roasted mushroom dip was delicious. Each of our four entrees were delightfully inspired and impeccably finished. They can be best described as a tender balance between upscale elegance and midwestern comfort. My Filet Mignon was one of the best I have ever had, my husbands pork chops were juicy and tender, cooked to perfection, and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her caliente carmones. For small town Canton, this place has class. I have only been once to see my old band director perform. That's right! Live music! I was so happy to find some culture here. Loved hanging with all the old people, listening to jazz and munching on appetizers. We ordered strawberry salsa that was unique and yummy. We also had artichoke dip. It was very different from other kinds I have had. I didn't have any drinks, but all those oldies were ordering some very pretty, fancy drinks. They looked awesome. The Bistro is a wonderful place to dine in Canton! I love their martinis. My favorite dish is the pork chops but everything I've eaten here has been wonderful. The restaurant prepared a special dinner for a group that was meeting in Peoria for a retreat. Wonderful service for 16 people and a delicious meal - appetizers were ready when we arrived. All food was homemade. The porkchops were moist and well seasoned. I think I could have devoted the entire meal to the pasta carbonara which was outstanding. Roasted broccoli was a nice touch. Desserts were a wonderful finish although we were very full - a delicious, silky bread pudding and the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! Highly recommend Bistro 101! read more

We were a little disappointed that we were the only people there and hope it doesn't close down. We had the Duck (pretty good) and the Pork Chops (best I ever had in a restaurant). Pork was tender with a mild, creamy mustard sauce. Brussel spouts that were thinly sliced and great. It also had a mystery/grainy/purple thing that wasn't good. Mashed potatoes done well. Surprising I know for Western Illinois, but yes definitely worth strip if you like great food. I have to admit that being raised in the Midwest makes me enjoy the comfort food with flair that they serve. However simply outstanding food! Literally just got done eating and writing this review from the table. BLT pasta was delicious and flavorful. Only problem was i ate it to fast to enjoy the flavor experience. I had bread pudding for desert and it was the best i have ever had. The service was great and the waitresses were beautiful. My wife and I have been saying for more that a year that we need to go to Bistro 101. We have heard that the food is great from a number of people. We went in for the first time on "Taco Tuesday" and the food was great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the service was fantastic. We went again for our anniversary (two days later) and ordered off the menu. Again the food was great. This is a gem in Canton. They have live music on Saturdays and they have what they call "Jam Sessions" every other Thursday. This place has some real character. The Beer selection is great as well. They rotate their draft beers and they have a good selection of bottled beers as well. This is a great place to go eat and have good conversation. read more

Went for tacos this Tuesday. Their first day back from vacation. Sent the first order of chicken nachos back. Everything was cold - chicken, cheese, chips. Replacement order wasn't much better. Chicken was a little warmer but that was all. When our tacos came, the meat on those was slightly warm. Very disappointed. Won't be returning for Taco Tuesday any time soon. read more

We are regular customers and always had great food and service. This New Years Eve we were seriously disappointed by the menu, price and quality of the food! Will never go back to the Bistro on a holiday. Our party of 12 was severly disappointed and I was totally upset that I had bragged about the food and service .
