SEVEN WORDS; VERY GOOD CHINESE / PHENOMENAL QUIET ROMANYIC AMBIANCE. . Billy Lee's was a Whim. We Eat LOTS of Chinese & Otger Asian Cuisines, but I've only Yelped a Small Handful of thise Restaurants. We looked up "Chinese in Bexley," and found Billy Lee's, a little hideaway stuck in an old Strip Mall along Main Street. If you were NOT looking for it, you'd very likely miss it. . Luckily, Yelp! delivered once again. . When we entered, we were both struck by the quality of the dining room - it reminds me of the 1970s-style Chinese Restayrants, only without the red lanterns or similarly fashioned LIGHTS that gave so many older restaurants a chintzy feel. No, this is quietly classy. The tables are set at an angle, with a wide walkway between. Each table wears a clean and crisp sheet of white craft paper, like you'd find in high-end Metropolitan Gastro Pubs. . Wow. We really enjoyed that. . We ordered Calimaru, Wor Sue Gai, and Chicken alo amping. The Calamari was quite HUGE, about the size of 3-inch onion rings. It was breaded lightly in a salt-pepper-flour mix that really cried out to be taken up a notch, but it was still quite good. . The Wor Sue Gai came in a very brother white sauce; Chinese Vegetables and Spinach surrounded bits of pressed chicken. It was also really good - about a step above average take-out. . My wife really loved her Lo Mein. It had a little hint of either Red or Black Thai Peppers, and she ordered a "Level 2" heat. It came out like a Thai restaurant; spicy and ready to attack. Still, my wife really enjoyed the soy-marinated Noodles, which were thick and earthy, like a Wheat noodles. . Our bill was very reasonable, maybe even a tad low at $51. That included an Appetizer, two Entrees, two Sodas. . We will return soon, just yo try all the Appetizers, tapas-style. We can hardly wait.

We had a family of 15 dinner here Sat. night to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. My folks come here since it isn't too far from home. It was my first time. They accommodated us nicely, and had two people waiting on us. It was a really great dinner. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails, beer, wine, appetizers, and entrees. I chose the Crispy Salmon with Garlic. I took half home and it heated up fine. They have a cute bar up front that I could sit at one day soon. We didn't see any draft beer. It's in a strip mall so there is parking in front.

I got chicken with cashews tonight. Sauce was almost nothing but water. No flavor. It did have lots of cashews. Not much chicken. Ugh.

Old school. Solid eats and good flexibility to make vegetarian options. I enjoy the atmosphere and need to visit more often.

Ask the Community - Billy Lee's Chinese Cuisine

Does this restaurant have a buffet? I searched "Chinese buffet" on maps and Billy Lee's came up?

I have eaten at Billy Lee's numerous times and I have never seen a buffet. It's not that large of a restaurant, but the food is usually very good. Hope this helps.

Well, coffee bar closes around 1PM, and they flip it to bar time until closing. We were warmly greeted by the bartender (not sure if part owner since there may be a few according to the menu's gratitudes). This bar is chic with a dark academia presence. I didn't take a lot of pics, since I was one of a few ppl there. However, they lean into the Lion theme beautifully. This place is manly, while have a soft essence... who doesn't love chandeliers. On to the offerings, it's a small menu, that appears to be seasonal... small menus means you're able to perfect things ;) My husband and I ordered a snack plate, with 'Spressy and Double Entendre on the side. Snack plate was served in gold dish: roasted salted cashews, toasted buffalo ranch corn, salted caramel chocolate covered popcorn. An elegant nod to beer nuts. I was a stereotypical millennial and ordered a 'Spressy: vanilla vodka, coffee, cacao, tonka; a little morning pick me up, but at night. Fantastic pull, smooth. My husband ordered Double Entendre: bourbon, pistachio, cacao; pistachio-y old fashioned. Bourbon is NOT my drink of choice, but I can tell you the prep showed great attention to detail; beautifully crafted clean, square shaved side, ice cube to perfectly chill the drink. As stated, this place is beautifully chic, with elevated drinks. The demasque wallpaper and gold accents are definitely my vibe. I look forward to returning and trying their coffee offerings.

That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.

We were met by a really friendly barista that we later learned was one of the owners. Their pricing was good, but a little confusing. I still don't understand why lattes were a full dollar more than almost everything else. However, the flavor of the coffee was great no complaints. The shop itself was cute very welcoming lots of brick. They were actually having a little flea market inside, which was interesting. This time, I stopped in for a midday coffee connect and co-working session. I ordered a seasonal oat milk matcha latte (smooth, creamy, and just the right kind of boost), while side-eyeing the gorgeous craft cookies from a vegan bakery. Didn't grab one this time, but I'll be back. Note to Cure: put those seasonal lattes on the website too--let us plan our caffeine cravings in advance! The space was inviting with a great music selection, and I loved the easy flow of patrons around noon--enough energy without being distracting. It's the kind of corner spot that feels both quaint and inspiring, perfect for conversations that turn into collaborations. I'm already looking forward to the upcoming DRAC meeting here.
