Pork Quesadilla

Solid bar! Good service and food - no frills! Ordered pork quesadilla, nachos and wings! We really liked the quesadilla! Pricing is reasonable too.

Bill's Olde Tavern has been a mainstay at 5 points right off Quakerbridge Road. I've been there quite a few times over the years, albeit not recently. Despite it being slow on a weekday, it took a while to get any sort of acknowledgement from the one server that was working the dining area. You seat yourself, so you just kind of play the waiting game until a server comes over. I understand it's a bar and that's the primary focus, but felt the dining area service is more of an afterthought. It didn't help that there were pesky flies and mosquitoes roaming around the dining area. We ordered a classic (cheese) bar pie, a burger, and the penne vodka. The server was apologetic that it took a long time for the food to come out. The bar pie (2.5/5), was merely average and not up to par with better bar pies I've had. The crispy crust was the best part, with cheese and sauce being just ok (not utilizing quality ingredients). The penne vodka (2.5/5) was underwhelming, as you can get a better version of the dish with more flavorful sauce at most other restaurants in the area. The grilled chicken that came with it was very plain in taste. I thought the burger (1.5/5) would be decent, but it was served undercooked with plenty of red despite requesting it be cooked well done. I mentioned it to the waitress and rather than take it off the check, she gave a modest $5 discount, leaving me to pay over $10 for basically an inedible and undercooked meal, which is poor customer service in my book. Overall, my impression was that Bill's Olde Tavern prefers to serve up alcoholic drinks as a watering hole, and has an "average at best" approach to food and service. To make things worse, they levy a 4% credit card fee which is petty considering it's not the norm among eateries in the area. Sadly, this visit will be likely be my last, and I wouldn't recommend the place to others, as there's much better options in the area for food where your money would be better spent.

This was my first time coming here. My boyfriend and I came here after we went to a art show near by. The place was cute and clean. The staff was super friendly and nice. The price for the amount of food. They could do better. I was looking for the rest of it. Especially the boneless wings for 2 people. The food was okay. It has good flavor but it definitely could be better. The beers and wines choices they were a ton! It's not bad for a quick bite if your in the area

Chili hot dogs

Stopped to eat after busy day no breakfast or lunch so we were hungry. Around 3pm on a week day. Only one other couple. We ate everything. Chili dogs hit the spot and ham seemed high quality on hoagie and fresh roll. Not a big thing music was loud I guess because hardly anyone was there but more people came in as we left. Didn't need forks n knives good because knives did not seem clean and we put aside. I would have said something if asked but I wasnt asked. All in all food didn't come with fries or anything. I think it would look good if they slapped a few potato chips on the platter at least but our stomachs were satisfied when we left. It's such an old building which makes it a cool place to eat.

Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

Had lunch here today (March 7,2023). The food was really good. Service was friendly and quick. We recommend this restaurant to all of our friends who live in the area. Beer was also good. We had the Bison Burger, Buffalo Chicken and the Philly Cheese Steak. All were really good. Looking forward to coming back.

Went on a Friday night to watch some live music and have some food and drinks. When we got there the outside was packed so we sat at a high top by the bar to eat before going outside. Our waiter said he is usually the bartender. We each ordered a cranberry cosmo, and as soon as he brought it to us, he said he knew the bartender made it wrong but asked if we still wanted it. It was way too dark to be a cosmo. We sent it back and they remade another one, but it still didn't taste like a cosmo. The manager came over and gave a shot of titos to add to it. It made it stronger, but was still not a cosmo. We shared an order of the pretzels and a bar pie. The pretzels I love to hate or hate to love...lol. They are so weird, not your normal bar pretzels. They seem to be deep fried but they are still really good. The bar pie definitely was on point. Ended up going outside after dinner to watch the band. Bill's is definitely a great place to watch some music outside and for people watching.

Updated review; I have been in for dinner a handful times this year and the food has been lacking. The downstairs bar area in unkept and smells like urine. The bartender Zac we encountered was INCREDIBLY rude and the other bar patrons noisy and judgmental. More recently there was an incident involving my friends and family who gathered for a fathers memorial. The way they were treated also by the bartender named above, was unprofessional and for telling of what this business in look like 2021. It's sad that the heart of Hamilton in fallen so far from its original nostalgia.

Outside area with a good beer.

And yet he performed a yeoman's job, moving from table to table with the calm bravery of someone who has accepted his fate and decided to try his best to do right by strangers anyway. The room itself was lovely, still dressed up for the holidays like a house that refuses to admit the season has moved on. It was pleasant to sit there and feel briefly insulated from the outside world, which was surely still doing whatever it does to people who skip lunch. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto. It was delicious, earthy and comforting, the sort of dish that suggests someone in the kitchen cares. The portion, however, was modest for the price, leaving me fed but contemplative. My companions ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and a wedge salad with chicken, and both appeared content, which is often the highest praise one can expect at midday. With tip, the bill came to about one hundred dollars for three people at lunch, which felt a bit steep for what landed on the table. There is no crime in that, but it does linger in the mind afterward. So here we are. A good meal, a kind and overworked server, a pleasant room, and food that was enjoyable but not generous. Given the abundance of good eating options nearby, it will probably be a while before I return. I do not regret going. I am simply aware that time, money, and lunches are all finite things. Which is something worth remembering anywhere you eat, including places you like.

I asked for the lettuce, tomato and onion on the side. I also got cheese on the burger, which i believe was white American. It was so juicy, flavorful and the right temp, and didn't need any condiments. The Italian Kaiser bun has mixed reviews on Yelp, but I was a huge fan. It tasted great and sopped up the burger juices. Rossi's is an area institution. In Trenton from 1933-2014 and then in Mercerville for the past 11 years. It has tons of old photos on th wall of the OG Rossi's and the people that ate there, like Joe DiMaggio. It was huge space with a bar, tables and booths. With the girth of the burger and at the price (May 2025, $16.68 with tax), it should have been presented with fries or a side salad, not just a la carte. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan!

Years ago I took him to the original Rossi's in Chambersburg after they won WIP radio host Glen Macnow's best burger contest. The place felt smoky and cramped and alive, a beating heart of the local community. So he came back to town and said, Take me to Rossi's. I want that burger again. The new Rossi's is bigger and brighter and very aware of its own legend. The website still shouts proudly about the award winning burger, the kind of pride that lingers long after the parade has packed up and the confetti has been swept into the gutter. The official burger of Polk High. We ordered the famous burger. It arrived on a soft roll, thick and respectable, cooked properly enough. The beef had that loose packed texture that once made it special, a little craggy, a little juicy. It was, in a word, fine. It didn't part the heavens, and it didn't cause my friend to close his eyes and whisper my name in gratitude. It was just a hamburger. The fries were plentiful and hot. There is still a sports bar soul here, sort of. Televisions glow and beer flows, albeit very VERY slowly. The menu stretches wide with wings, sandwiches, steaks, things for people who want something other than beef on a bun. It feels like a place that knows how to feed a crowd after a Little League game or a retirement home on an afternoon outing. The service was friendly in the way a distracted and rarely seen cousin is friendly at Thanksgiving. Smiles, sure. Refills, eventually. Our server moved with the gentle chaos of someone juggling too many plates and not enough time or help. Nothing disastrous happened. Nothing especially polished happened either. We waited, ee watched and we ate. When my friend took a bite,he nodded politely. He said, "It's good." This is not what he said all those years ago in Chambersburg when grease ran down his wrist and he declared it the best burger in the state with the certainty of Biff Tannen with a Sports Almanac in his back pocket. Restaurants age and legends settle into routine. Rossi's feels like it is living comfortably on stories of past glory. There is nothing wrong with the food, but there is nothing thrilling about it either. If you are nearby and hungry, you'll be fed and you'll leave full. If you're chasing a memory, you may just find that memory tastes better than the present.

I haven't been to this site since it was Dublin Square which was a long time ago. Some of the layout changed. They no longer have the old bar separated from the dining area. Callie was our server and did a great job. I was there with some friends from SC. We started by ordering the large pretzel which comes out on a pretzel hanger along with some beer cheese for dipping. They also use that hanger for bacon. The pretzel was enough for 4 of us. I ordered the wings and selected Nashville Hot and Hog Sauce as my flavors. They claim they sell by the pound ($15.50) but it ends up being 8 wings. If you want to split flavors, they make it dry and bring the sauce on the side for dipping. Luckily the Nashville Hot is a dry rub. It was very good and not too spicy. The Hog Sauce is a combo of Buffalo and Garlic which was excellent. The wings themselves were plump, juicy and crispy. Five stars. Plenty of parking. Some tables available outside for outdoor seating when it ever gets nice in NJ. Bathrooms were very clean. You may find some little pink pigs around. Not sure if they're complimentary, but my wife took the one that was next to our table. My only complaint is they have too many of their draft beers designated for only 10 oz pours even with low ABV. I had a Kane Head High which was in a 16 oz glass. They also use OpenTable for reservations which I used as well.

You'll want to try the chicken parmigiana pizza, with a crispy chicken cutlet serving as the dough instead! Try a Trenton famous tomato pie, and see that it compares well to other notorious spots in the area! Their Billy Mac cheeseburger came loaded with creamy Mac and cheese! We loved the Mac and cheese so much we even ordered it as a side. For a more traditional entree, try the short rib for a cozy fall dinner. The short rib was tender and inviting and came with an ample amount of mashed potatoes and veggies. A great healthier option.
