I have been driving past this place for a few weeks now and inspite of some poor reviews decided to check this place out today. The decor inside is warm and cozy, it's not the biggest of the place but has a very welcoming vibe to it. On being seated i was curious to check out their beer collection and I wouldn't lie, I was rather impressed. Coming from Wisconsin it was a great relief to find a place with such good and varied beer collection on tap. For lunch I ordered Bills Seafood Medley which came with salad and a pretzel. I got the Caesar salad which was a little high on the dressing but that's fine, the pretzel was freshly baked and was pretty good. The main course, the linguine was probably not the best looking dish but it's taste makes up for the lack of points in looks. It was very well stacked and the helping was pretty decent as well. There was only one waitress and was attending about 5-7 tables at that time and she managed it really well. My final verdict would be to definitely check this place out as their food is pretty good and priced pretty well. read more

Bills isn't really a place to go for food's to all the people that left a review complaining that the food was "mediocre" or not satisfactorily... Bill's ISN'T a five-star restaurant....so if you went in there with those kind of expectations...that is why you left unsatisfied. Bills is a FANTASTIC place to meet up with friends or new people for drinks....i am a regular at Bills...i've been going there for about four or five years now and i absolutely LOVE the place! I find the food to be delicious! The fish and chips is one of my favorite things to order on the menu...The staff is friendly and attentive, the drinks are reasonably priced, and it's always fun to meet new people! I think the atmosphere of this place definitely carries itself for me to give it 5 stars. The interior and exterior is beautiful. It feels very masculine with it's hard wood and brick, cabin like persona yet still warm and inviting so it's not going to be rejected by the ladies. It's an old world, classic tavern that appeals to the mature crowd and brings in the younger singles around 10pm to the other bar in the back. Once you hit those double doors to the other bar, the scenery changes dramatically. It's a modern, cool colored area for the young crowd that isn't very big. If you're there to meet people, it can't be avoided in such a small space. Also, the bouncers that go on shift at about 9:30 are very strict. You're hand stamped and carded promptly, even if you're already inside drinking. Any fighting, rowdiness, drunk and disorderly behavior? You're removed ASAP, it happened about 4 times in the 3 hours we were there with the bouncers. Staff - Very friendly, but not always knowledgable. Waitress kept forgetting requests and didn't drink beer, so she wasn't any help with the large selection of draft, bottles and seasonal specials. However, she did apologize for that and I felt it didn't hurt our experience. The bartender was great with reminding us of specials. Food & Drink - Fantastic. There were 4 of us that ordered mozzarella sticks, duck wings, hot boneless wings and crab cakes. All were great and the hot wings were very spicy for a change, many places have way too subtle of a difference. The drinks? Lost of options, we tried the Pecan Harvest and Vanilla Porter besides the usual Bud Light and Stoli Shots ($3 after 10pm for Stoli, $2 for domestic draft). Eating at Bills for dinner is always strange to me. The owner has put a lot into rehabbing it. I mean, it's beautiful and really charming inside. However, on weekend nights the clientele changes from the middle aged regulars to a drunken slurry of young locals. Don't get me wrong... I join that crowd myself on occasion; but if I want to enjoy the high quality meal that I am accustomed to getting at Bills it would be a lot better experience absent the weekenders. If Bills opened up at a larger location with the same style decor and a more peaceful and less cramped atmosphere I would pay 10 to 20 % more for their food. It's that tasty. I recently had a party for my family there and I chose the buffet. The food was okay but the poor server was alone to work the bar the other tables and my guests as well. We asked for bread and we were told no we never received any coffee or soda which was part of the package we agreed to. They didn't cut the cake or help us serve or even give us forks to use. And when we were done they took all the food and were going to reuse it, when I asked him to wrap up what we didn't eat he said no we don't do that,(most places give the left overs because they were made for your specific party and they throw away what's left because you PAID for it. But he was not having it, so I will not be going back and neither will my family. So needless to say the party was not as I expected. I really feel bad for the server he tried his best he was just overwhelmed having to do it all alone with no support. read more

My only gripe is what you normally get from these styles of establishments: the vulgar drunk clientele. If I had an award for flavorful, quality dining at incredibly fair prices, this restaurant hits the bullseye. The dining room is forged from a New Jersey Historic Site with its own warmth and charm. The food offers a variety and flavors that are unmatched. Stephanie was an outstanding waitress and made certain our needs were not only met, but also in a manner where we didn't feel rushed. The meals are often served with homemade pretzels and they were delicious. We tried the app sampler and it was delicious also; NOT box frozen. I had the Pot Roast and it was the best meal I have ever eaten. We also ordered the grilled pork chop with Truffle glaze over bacon-cheddar mashed, Shepard's Pie, Bangers and Mashed and the kids had the 5 cheese, Mac n Cheese; I sampled it- unbelievably good. Gluten free folks rejoice!!!! I tip my hat to this place for the amazing effort they make for gluten free people. My little family of three is all (medically) gluten free. My two year old is VERY sensitive to cross contamination. They were very helpful when it came to identifying the items that could potentially have cross contamination and those that were prepared separately. The proof is always in the pudding though...and no on had any kind of reaction! ....even the few fries we let our girl have did not bother her! Thank you thank you thank you so much! Up until we found this place, we were convinced our girl would never be able to enjoy a meal out with her mom and dad. Horrible service! No one cares about waiting on you, would rather talk to the regulars while you sit and wait for them to take your order. Pizza is burnt. Got a reward card from them when I made a large purchase one night. Was told would earn rewards every time i went. I handed them the card the next 3 times after that every time I went in and they handed back to me. By now I should have somewhere between 20-40$ in rewards. The last time I used it the kid said, oh, you have to activate it. I said I've been putting it on the bar for a year now when I come and no one ever said anything. Included him when I was in another time. He just repeated himself. Didn't care. I was very pissed! I sent 2 messages on the website. No response. They don't care. The service here is always excellent even when they are busy and that's huge to me. But that's about as good as it gets here. The food is not so good. Edible but not enjoyable. Beer selection is limited. Not much for drink specials. The worst part is the late night crowd. I work late and this bar is very close to home but I choose further bars because the late night crowd is young and very rowdy. If you like the college feel it's perfect for you but certainly not for me. Almost every late night I've spent here there is a fist fight or near fist fight and security seems just as immature and ready to fight as the drunken patrons. read more

I've been in here a few dozen times, and it wasn't because I didn't like it. It's a unique place in which the restaurant caters to the elder crowd and the 2 bars cater to the younger bunch. Food is usually very tasty and they have plenty of craft beers. Your dining experience should range from 3.5 to 5 stars, depending on how busy they are and who serves you. We try to go here about once a week with our friends. It's the perfect local tavern for us. Anna always takes good care of us! The bar food (wings, appetizers, etc.) are amazing and we often come just for buffalo chicken salads. The shrimp bisque is also a favorite when it rotates around. I would say the larger entrees tend to run on the heavier side with butter/salt which isn't my preference but they are obviously high quality. We just love the salads and sandwiches though and it's one of the best burgers in town (especially when they have the neuske bacon!) The boneless garlic wings with tots are also a favorite in our group. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxing. Highly recommended! read more

They were minding their own business only to be called 'Muslim' and an assortment of racial slurs ultimately driving these men to leave the establishment. But it does not end there, I am afraid. Wonderful night out! The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was incredible. From the second we entered the restaurant, the staff was so on top of everything. The hostess worked with the owner to find our party of 8 a table on a busy Saturday night. The waitress, Maria, worked so hard to provide our large party everything that we could possibly need. If your a bar interview chefs by asking them to go into the kitchen and cook you an amazing burger. A bar should have good wings and a good burger as staples. I'll start with the good, the boneless wings were very good although the portion was small. Hostess was very nice. Waitress inattentive when she did pass through. The bad we ordered burgers and they were super thick, meatloaf like, flavorless on a basic kaiser roll. My advice would be to invest in brioche rolls, THIN out the burger so people can put their mouth around it and learn how to season and grill mouth watering burgers and become known for best burgers in Mercer County. Presentation also key, take a trip to the Buttonwood Grille in Peddlers Village. Clean up the place get rid of nick nacks that collect dust/germs. Rustic natural modern is big right now... white, green, and string lights very appealing. I'd love to see you turn your business around and not offer Groupon to get people in the door. Went here for the first time because of the restaurant.com coupon and had a really good time. Was really disappointed that they wouldn't accept my coupon because we chose the 2 for $22 special. Our total bill was almost $50, so what difference would that make?? It has a casual atmosphere. Everything we ordered was good! The garlic wings were great!
