I had long heard the legends of the infamous Bills Donut Shop. I finally stopped by to grab some goodies for clients and try for myself and was not disappointed. I came while they still had pandemic restrictions so it was a very soup-nazi like no nonsense procedure. It is busy at all times of day so come in, get in line, promptly order what you want, pay, leave. I tried to be efficient but there was SO MUCH SELECTION, wow. During normal times they do seem to have a ton of seating. I personally tried the blueberry danish, peach turnover, pistachio muffin, apple donut, and a peanut butter cream filled. These are so rich I couldnt even finish one pastry at a time. Everything was delicious and fresh. Pro tip: if you bring clients a dozen assorted Bills Donuts they extra big time love you. They've cut the staff back to 4 and 3 our focused on filling online orders. I haven't met another human who loves donuts as much as me. The first time I had Bill's someone brought them into an office about 45 minutes away. I thought they were pretty good, but things changed when I visited the old school shop in person. This place just oozes old school donut shop vibes. I love everything about it. Their prices are reasonable, their selection is unparalleled, even though they're always busy they're always well stocked, and best of all it just feels like that special Saturday morning when you got donuts as a kid. Part of me wishes there was a closer location to me, but then again, the fact that there's only this location is part of what makes it special. This place is really cute and you can't help but make friends while standing in line. It's a local spot I've heard a lot about and decided to take a detour. The original glazed donut can definitely stand with the best of them. I ate the second one the next day and it was still really good. I am a Centerville native and long time Bill's supporter. We love a late night Bill's run but since the new owners have taken over there has been a major shift in quality of the donuts and service. The last two orders I placed I had door dashed and the order is never filled correctly. The donuts are not fresh but stale. The jelly filled donuts are only half way filled and very dry. These were a treat in our house and I've tried giving the new owners a chance to get it right for over a year but I think I'll be finding a new donut shop. So sad! read more

This place is always great and so are their prices. We recently ordered a donut cake and 17 dozen donut holes for a grad party. The man on the phone was very patient to make sure he got our order exactly right. They allowed us an earlier pickup time than we originally requested. Stood in an empty line and was avoided by disgruntled workers for several minutes before a box was slammed on the counter. So listen, I love this place. I really do. And I love Donuts in general. I realize this location is legendary and my visit tonight clocked in a about midnight. I assume the young people working there are probably just tired and not always focused on the task, but one thing stood out that I hope gets remedied at some point. My sister ordered several Donuts and they were placed in a small box that had tissue paper placed in it first. The young man was wearing gloves and naturally handling the Donuts with care. She paid him in Cash. He took the Cash to the register and completed her order. He then took someone else's order with those same gloves on, took the gentleman's Card to the register and swiped it with the same gloves on that he used to prepare Donuts for other Customers. The Two Star review isn't a point of malice. Instead, hopefully it gets the attention it deserves, and we can reconsider the training methods and practices that help keep legendary institution great form for years to come. It starts at the top. I would say have one person handling money and the register, the rest should be getting orders ready. Or have the young people use Tissue Paper for every Donut they pick up. Or Tongs to pick up the Donuts. Either way, it's never, ever a great idea to have Kids handling Money also handling the food. Also, not that it matters, but employees weren't wearing Masks, and me and one other person were wearing Masks in what is a very closed in environment. Perhaps people not eating should be in them? Just a suggestion. Anyway, keep being legendary, but serve Donuts to people the same waybone would to their family members. Public Health is everyone's business and not just a moral imperative. On the drive to Columbus for some hockey action, detoured to Centerville for this gem of a spot. Wow, friendly staff, great suggestions, a couple samples and a box of donuts. That is the way to close the day. Yep, they are open almost all the time. We stopped at 5:30 PM on a Friday and we're greeted by fresh donuts. We weren't alone as there was a steady stream of customers getting a sugar fix. We were lucky that they were featuring some lemon cake donuts that were simply amazing. We made a trip there at 10:30pm...to our surprise the place was packed and smelled soooo gooood! We got our friends some donuts and us too. Wow they are the BEST donuts ever! We went again, last Friday night, after a missions conference we were attending and to our surprise again...it was packed at 10:30pm! This time we ate our donuts there and left about 1am and people were still coming in! The place is clean, smells amazing, and the customer service is good. I got 2 standard glazed ones and a plain one. Absolutely delicious! And extremely cheap. Didn't even pay $3 for them. They were kinda large but slightly melt in your mouth but didn't feel fatty or heavy. So soft and I loved that it was fresh. There was a line inside from the counter to the door but it moved quickly.
