Hopefully that will change when overly generous benefits stop. Finding parts nowadays is a lot tougher with supply chains being really mucked up. Evidently this even affects body parts, so that will add to the time factor. Pricing was pretty much as I expected and the quote was very detailed, which I like. Work on my car was cosmetic. That went really well I think. The car was detailed when I got it back - a nice touch. Timing was the only reason I did not rate them higher.

What car shop is open on Saturday after 3 pm and Sunday too? Car Doc, that's who!…read more My car took a dump while I was driving southbound on M-53, just a couple of thuds under my feet, then it shut off. Oh yeah, this happened at 3 pm on a Saturday! Car Doc was within my 5 AAA miles to be towed to, and open! I was ecstatic to find out he was also open on Sunday, so I would get a diagnostic the next day. Alas, it was a major repair (replace my engine), and costly as well, but Subbu walked me thru everything. I still don't trust car repair places (long story but I was bamboozled twice in the past) so I don't just jump in and say yes. My brother's friend owns a collision place, so he checked with his colleagues on Subbu & Car Doc. He has a solid rep with those in the business, and the prices he quoted me were fair/spot-on/industry standard. After hearing this, I went ahead with the engine replacement, and Subbu did it within a week (I had a free loaner, so I told him no rush). He kept me informed of minor tweaks he had to make while re-installing the engine, and also coached me on what to look for after picking up my car - minor leaks and such. I did have a minor leak of fluid of some sort, and Subbu told me to bring it back in and he'd look at it. Unfortunately, the leak was not associated with the work he did, but he didn't charge me anything additional to look at it. Trustworthy and fair, I totally recommend Subbu & Car Doc.

I made the horrible mistake of entrusting this body shop with a luxury vehicle - big mistake. Sure you should expect to get your car back looking newly restored but you'd also expect to get your car back in working order right? . . . you don't expect a seized passenger door that can't be opened or extra body chips in places where the car wasn't damaged. Results like this make one wonder how people stay in business. Results I received cost me more than the original insurance repair claim. Did I give Dotten the opportunity to make things right? Absolutely - and as a matter of fact that's what the business owner promised "leave it with me and I promise to fix it and make things right". But after a week of leaving the vehicle with them, they realized what it would actually take or cost to correct the botched job. The owner's best excuse was the door broke because it was old . . . really!? coincidentally exactly while just at your place for body shop repairs after all these years . . . amazing! This is the kind of professionalism and integrity that you can expect at Dotten collision. Dotten couldn't fix, would not correct or pay to remedy the problem so the promises and warrantees you'll get are worthless. Avoid the grief and legal action. There are so many more reliable and professional choices like Service King who undid Dotten's damage. That's my experience with Dotten's wretched service experience.
