Counter service was friendly. Cons: The bulk of the seating is basically one long table with one side against the wall. Love the idea of shared seating but it's awkward to sit down when you have to scootch behind other diners chairs. Feels very boxed in on that side. My biggest complaint, though, was the wait for the food. They do have a sign on the register asking for patience, but we waited almost 45 minutes for a couple of sandwiches and a Caesar salad. There were only a few other patrons there when we arrived so it wasn't slammed. I would definitely go back if they can fix the speed of orders coming out. If you want to hang out and not in a hurry, it's a nice vibe.

The restaurant is so cozy, the service is always quick and friendly, they have an outstanding tequila selection and the food is tremendous. I went with a big group of girlfriends on Wednesday night so we were able to sample a plethora of dishes from the current menu and let me tell you, they all slapped. We had the taleggio agnolotti, rabbit pappardelle, sunchokes, foccacia, halibut, scallops, pork schnitzel and duck leg cassoulet. Truly all of the food was outstanding but my favorites were the cassoulet, rabbit pasta and the halibut. The pork was good but do note that it is a positively enormous amount of food! We were so full that we almost skipped dessert but we had to try just a couple of things so we ordered the Dubai chocolate ice cream and the sticky toffee pudding which were both great but the ice cream was the favorite. I love Sweet Life and wish I could transport it home with me to eat there year round!

We won't be returning until the attitude and staff are changed. No meal is worth a bad cultural experience. My wife and I tried to eat here. My wife and I had disembarked the ferry in OB and heard about the Wave was new so we were excited and called. The woman on the phone said, yes we have availability come on over - we said we were in our way and would be there in 15 minutes. We arrive in VH 15 minutes later. My very pregnant wife waddles over to the hostess and it seems it's a different lady that tells her "do you have a reservation?!" With an attitude. We say "we just spoke with someone." The woman we spoke to then appears and says "yes" I told them it was ok. Then the other woman scolds her and says, well I just "reallocated" all the tables. Not possible anymore. So then they both point to the upstairs deck area across the way and say it's the bar area, go sit up there. My pregnant wife wasn't thrilled with all the distance and steps but said "ok" reluctantly but she had to use the restroom first. For any disabled person - my pregnant wife also has permanent mobility issues - the restroom is down a step and outside in another section. We finally get upstairs and the guys up there said they had reservations starting soon so we had to check with the hostess. Maybe we got profiled in my T-shirt and shorts, but I can guarantee we would have tipped better than the old stodgy people walking in. We probably would have just stayed the but attitude of the staff was just a massive turn off. If an establishment can't put out a welcoming culture, what else aren't they paying attention to with the meal. Off to Beach Road or to try out The Jetty on our Tuesday evening arrival.

The restaurant has an eclectic, relaxed atmosphere with a strong selection of food and cocktails. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered the birria taco along with one of my favorites...a margarita. Because really, can you have Mexican food without a margarita? Both hit the spot, and I really enjoyed my meal. The restaurant stayed busy throughout my visit, but there's plenty of seating inside, and I especially liked the indoor/outdoor setup of the bar. It gives the space an open, casual feel that's perfect for grabbing a drink, having a meal, or hanging out for a while. The bartenders were another highlight. Even with a steady crowd, both were welcoming and attentive, and I enjoyed chatting with them while I ate. If you want to switch things up--Midnight Taco is a fun find for Mexican food, cocktails, and a relaxed atmosphere. I'll happily take a birria taco and margarita combination any day!

Then came the scallops, seared to that perfect crusty-on-the-outside, butter-soft-inside finish, sitting in risotto with bacon and crisp green apple for a sweet-tart snap. Genuinely one of the best scallop dishes I've had on-island. The cocktail program deserves a shoutout too, mine came dark, moody, and dressed with a little flower garnish from Bridget's garden that made it look like it belonged in a much more expensive bar tab. The tasting menu ($115, four courses, MV-sourced ingredients) is a commitment but if you want a proper date-night splurge, this is the move. Only knock: it's a destination, not a walk-by, so plan the drive and maybe a reservation. Would go back just for the scallops and oysters alone. I am lucky enough to be able to ride my bike here!!

Despite all the great seafood options on the island, poke bowls are not a common site, so we were excited to try one! We ordered the Chef's Bowl and allowed the chef to create a masterpiece for us. Our poke bowl was a large size and included tuna, cucumbers, carrots, green onions, sesame seeds, and I'm guessing the spicy mayo/house sauce over a warm bed of rice. The fish was very fresh and the combination of toppings and sauces on the sushi rice was delicious! We found out the owner/chef is from LA, which makes sense since CA (aside from Hawaii) is practically the poke bowl state. He was very friendly and our bowl came out fast. My only qualm is the portion size was relatively small and the prices are above average. The prices were on par with all the other food at the brewery though and it was one of the most unique offerings!
