The food was amazing!!!! Unfortunately the young lady working the cashier @7:30pm on 1/28/23 was very rude. It was our first visit and we were attempting to understand the process as there are a few doors to enter and also a few places in which an order can be placed. She was very abrasive and short. When taking our order she made it seem as if we were inconveniencing her by asking a few questions about the menu. I've eaten many times at this restaurant. The food is usually very good! I order either the tri-tip salad or the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Both are excellent. I've been bamboozled. It's crazy to think that I use to enjoy this place. I've watched you turn from a young fresh BBQ joint pumping out some of the finest meats in the city, to a dried up (I'm looking at you Brisket) tough old pile of bones. My goodness what in the F happened? BBQ in my book is good, or bad there is no in between, and who would want to be? I once championed this place as a Meat Palace, but like any great kingdom your reign has come to an end. I feel like an exile should take place, kinda like how you exiled all the moisture from your BBQ leaving me with a dried rubbery piece of what use to be a beautiful animal. Usually the amount of salad in the taco salad equals the cost. Today, the amount of the salad decreased quite noticeably. When my husband went up to say something to the staff, the server didn't offer any type of solution, his tone and demeanor was slightly condescending to my husband also. Either an offer of a refund or giving us more salad would've been two great solutions; but it was apparent that he wasn't trained properly on customer service. I later went up to ask to speak with the manager on duty and I felt that his customer service was lacking too. I had to suggest that he give more salad and he said, "you mean just the lettuce?" I said yes, thinking that it would be salad, which is not only lettuce, but also the other veggies that come in a salad. Lettuce is not the same as salad. When he put just lettuce on a plate, I spoke up about getting actual salad and not just the lettuce, and he pushed back saying, "but you said lettuce." As a restaurant manager, you'd think that problem solving would be an important aspect to remedying complaints from patrons, but I felt like this guy really wasn't interested in keeping me as a customer. Additionally, the table we sat at had a big hair on it like the rag they use to wipe the tables down weren't clean, and the plastic water cup they handed me at the register had lip marks on it. My husband and I like to come here for lunch for the taco salad and burgers, we probably come here 3-4 times a month, but after today, this business will no longer see my hard-earned money. Customer service is important to me and these guys suck at it. They say vote with your money and that's exactly what I intend to do. read more

Needed a place that could handle 25-30 people and gave them about 15 minutes to prepare and this crew came through. There were 15-20 separate checks that included food and drink and they didn't miss a beat. Service was great and food was spot on. We got there about 8:45pm and they close at 10pm and not once did they make us feel rushed or that we were a pain...tables were all set up for us and they greeted us like long lost friends. Great friendly service, fast service, and some great beers on tap. 3 meat plate for $16 with 2 sides = perfect smoke, doneness, and great taste even without the BBQ sauce on the table! Bill & Tim'S BBQ has always been one of my favorites in Eugene. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really laid back and comfortable (with TV's for sports games and other events). Great place to come with friends or families! Servers are always very friendly and helpful, especially since they often bring the food right to you even though it's an "order at the counter first" type of restaurant. Lots of tables both inside and outside, also has a private parking lot for customers (just look for the farm animal mural). Service is always very fast and the self-serve area for silverware, drinks, and condiments is really convenient. Food is undeniably the best part. I've never had anything on the menu that I didn't like. Their meat selections are always cooked to perfection, not to mention generous portion sizes (for sides too). I typically get the meat plates and switch around the meats and sides for different combinations. Their house made BBQ sauce is also really savory, but the meats already have such good flavor in my opinion. Great flavor all around & a must try if you're in Eugene! read more

We haven't been there for several months and likely won't go back. The food has gone down hill. One of us had tri tip beef and smoked turkey. The meat was dry and very thinly sliced. The Rueben sandwiches were also disappointing, much less meat than before and it was dry and thinly sliced. The sauce overpowered the taste of the meat. The tofu skewers were ok but we chose that restaurant for the BBQ MEAT which was sub par the onions rings were also not great; dry not juicy and it tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Review by a VEGAN: Went here with my cohort to celebrate our last term of grad school. Didn't check on the salad options because I don't like salad, but the waiter told me the bbq sauce has Worcestershire in it (which contains anchovies). The only option left for me was a tofu kabab. It was horrible! Just a few squares of tofu, some red onion, and green bell peppers (which I hate). No seasoning, no sauce, no salt, NO FLAVOR! Same with the black beans: No flavor or salt! Gross! The cajun tots were good, but not spicy. Even though this is a meat-centered restaurant, I'm appalled that there were so few vegan options in such a vegan-friendly town! It's easy to find vegan Worcestershire...(e.g., Fred Meyer lol). Just switch that out and the bqq sauce is vegan. I was hoping for some pulled "pork" (jackfruit) or even just vegsn bbq sauce at least.... Also it was suuuuper loud in there. They need sound absorbers. Let me start by telling you, I was so ready for bbq. I order online and when I get there they have my food in a paper bag sitting by the door. Not under a heat lamp or in the kitchen, I had to ask 2 other customers to move because they were standing in front of the table it was sitting on. Ok. The staff wasn't so friendly either. I walked in and stood there, didn't even really know where I was supposed to go and nobody was trying to help me either. When I got it home, so depressing. I got ham and chicken. Chicken was hard and burnt, way too tough. The ham, well how can you go wrong with ham? The coleslaw was so dry, the potato salad the same and the mac n cheese, so stuck together I couldn't tell the shape of the noodles. My BFF had a Reuben. Oh he loved it except.... The bread was burnt. They just put that part on the inside thinking nobody would notice. I could smell the burnt bread. I read the reviews here before I went. 2nd time to Bill and Tim's and I can now say B & T's BBQ is worth the five starts! I ordered the taco salad again without remembering that I had the taco salad last time I was at B & T's. This time I ordered the pulled pork instead of the brisket, and the pulled pork was the winner! Excellent flavor without the insane saltiness that the brisket had which was overwhelming for me. Next time I go to B & T's, I am either going to try the nachos or the enchiladas. I have no idea why I keep ordering Mexican food at a BBQ restaurant but I can't help myself. Pulled pork mixed with pinto beans homemade-delicious. The chips disappointed; who puts sugar on their chips?! Because I could taste the sugar... They didn't go well with the rest of my meal... Had the two meat platter with two sides. I had shredded brisket and steak tips, with Mac and cheese along with homemade BBQ chips. I am usually not a big fan of shredded brisket as it usually hides a lot of fat. This was NOT the case here it had really good flavor and was moist and tender. It was my first time having steak tips and they were tougher than I had expected. I couldn't cut them with a fork. Flavor was good although chewier than I had expected. This is the reason for only 4 stars. The Mac and cheese had great flavor as well as texture. Had to try the homemade BBQ chips and I wasn't disappointed they were great, all of them were crunchy. I am not a huge fan of vinegar sauces however theirs had a nice bite and not overpowering. If in the area I will come again to try the ribs. read more

We went here Friday night and had the best time. Their patio is one of the best ones in town- shaded, well designed, and great ambiance. There were 6 of us and an employee helped us get tables together and wipe them all down (it is supposed to be self service but they are extremely attentive and helpful). All of the food was so good- the tossed salad, pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, etc! We loved the Mac and cheese balls too. We all commented multiple times how nice the service was and how much their kindness stood out to us. While good service shouldn't be rare when going out to eat it has certainly become that way. I'm from the south and this was disappointing plus overpriced. We had to bust our own table after paying over $70 for two meals. The slaw was not slaw. Not sure what it was exactly and the beans were full of fluff. Both inedible. The pulled pork was decent as were the ribs. As for service, the food was slow to arrive and cold. The Bbq Chicken was some flat refrozen piece of chicken dry as a board...coleslaw had no sauce on it, black beans looked like ground charcoal. Ordered off of grub hub...I will never order from them again...I grew up in Arizona and live in Texas too...I know what good BBQ is. I've had the tri-tip sandwich and the pulled pork taco salad which sounds strange but is delicious! The tri-tip sandwich was tender huge and flavorful. I ate half and took home half for the next day but it was so good I pigged out late at night and finished it! My thinking was it'll never be better than it is right now ! Half should be plenty for a female and a whole should fill the hardiest appetite. The pulled pork is moist and has a great smoked aspect to the flavor. The taco salad was piled high with pulled pork. We ride our bikes here and it's really the only barbecue place we go to in Eugene that should tell you something! Nice picnic table seating so you can have your bike right by you at the table. I'm a student at UO and I never go into a restaurant around here with high expectations but this place blew my mind it was delicious. I had the Melt sandwich and I highly recommend it the amount of brisket you receive is very filling and it is also quite delicious. I got a side of Cajun tots and they were seasoned amazingly. My friends got a Cuban and the club sandwich and they also both loved this place. This was my favorite restaurant I've been to in Eugene in my 6 months here so far. I highly recommend it. read more
