Pretty disappointed with our trip to this Mazda dealership. We went in last weekend on Saturday. Met with one of the sales reps who gave us some details but said that they were too busy to actually give us exact numbers or appraise our trade-in car. He took our email address and phone number and said would get in touch on Monday with details so we can discuss further and plan a weekday appointment. We didn't hear anything back the following week so we reached out via email to the sales rep but heard nothing back. We then called and left a voicemail for the manager too asking if we could get more details but didn't hear back. I guess they must have so much business that they don't care for new customers. We'll be taking our business to another Mazda dealership that treated us much nicer. read more

I was not happy with the sales manager, finance guy, and service department. The entire experience there was terrible (sales guy was nice but they don't do much). This dealership is very cheesy and lacks customer service. I traded in a 2010 Toyota that I bought and had serviced right down the street at Elgin Toyota and their service is 100x better then Biggers Mazda. I have bought brand new cars from Elgin Dodge, Nissan, Toyota, and Mazda (all in Elgin). Hands down service is the best at Toyota and I will go back to them (can't wait). This review is for the SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I had taken my car in for service because the suspension was making loud noises while driving. I kept getting calls back with the estimate continually going up in cost. A few days later they said they had fixed the vehicle and I could come pick it up. One day after that, the suspension is again making the same noise (and still does). So essentially I just spent nearly a grand for the privilege of not driving my car. Another thing. They mentioned that my front rotors needed to be replaced. Funny that, I had my front rotors replaced exactly one year ago and they are just as thick as the day they replaced the old ones. So either the mechanics did not even personally check to see if I had wear out of laziness, or I was blatantly lied to. I plan on writing Mazda headquarters to hopefully get a part of what I spent back. Edit: One thing I almost forgot about. You will get an annoying automated call to your phone number that you leave with them. Either for a survey, or for recommended repairs. read more

A few months back, I went to Biggers Mazda to look at a couple of used AWD Mazda CX-5s. The week before, I had gone to a Subaru dealer to look at a used Forester, which ended up having been already sold even though I called 30 minutes earlier to confirm availability. I didn't have that problem at Biggers Mazda, which was good because it's around 30 miles away from me. I test drove both CX-5s, one of which was a 2013 model with the 2.0L engine, the other was a 2014 with the 2.5L engine. The sales experience with our salesman David Domanski was low-pressure, though perhaps that was because he could tell that my wife and I were serious customers. After all, we had even brought a car seat to check ease of mounting, and settled on the 2014 CX-5, which was a one owner car that had been purchased new at Biggers and serviced there, which is ideal for buying a used car. I didn't feel nickel-and-dimed by the buying process. Unlike some other car salesmen that I've encountered, David realized that I was an informed consumer (I'm pretty into cars, and knew what rates my credit score could get me) and treated me accordingly. Also unlike some other car salesmen that I've encountered, David was knowledgeable about the products he was selling. Biggers Mazda didn't play the game of initially quoting me a ridiculously high loan rate; it was within 0.3 percentage points of what I was quoted at my credit union. While closing the deal with the F&I department, various dealer profit padding things like gap insurance, paint/body protection, and extended warranties were offered, but not forcefully so, and I declined them. I forgot to ask for a copy of the vehicle's service history when I bought it, but David responded to my email inquiry with the information quickly, which saved me from wasting time and money changing brake and differential fluid. The only reason that I'm not giving a 5 star review is because while the vehicle was nicely detailed, the coolant was slightly low, and it should have been topped off by the service department when it was taken in on trade. Like many manufacturers these days, Mazda has a specific long-life coolant formulation (FL-22) that is difficult to obtain from non-dealer sources. read more

Buyer Beware! I would not recommend purchasing a used car from this dealership. We are avid review readers and hope this review helps others avoid the trouble we've gone through with the used car we purchased from this dealership. We purchased a 2013 car two months ago and have already put more than $500 of (not optional) repairs into it. At time of purchase we were assured that the car was fully inspected including new brake pads and that there should be no issues. Two weeks after purchase the check engine light came on which we found out was the oxygen sensor needing to be replaced. We had to have it fixed as we couldn't pass emissions test until it was repaired. Last week, 2 months into ownership we started hearing a grinding noise when braking which prompted us to check them and there was absolutely no brake pads left. The calipers also needed to be replaced. There is no way we wore through 'brand new' pads in less than 2 months. We also need to pay over $200 to have the lane departure and blind spot monitor recalibrated but at this point we hate the thought of putting more money into the car, not knowing what other issues may pop up. We have tried resolving the issues with the dealership and have been told we are 'out of luck' and it's our issue to deal with. While I understand unforeseen issues that may happen with a used car are the responsibility of the owner, an issue like NO brake pads (when told that they were brand new) is not acceptable and should be handled accordingly by the dealership. So disappointing that Biggers runs their dealership with such little regard for business ethics. While this may have been an isolated incident, based on our experience I can only say - DO NOT buy a used vehicle here unless you want to put more money into it after purchasing! read more

I purchased an 07 Mazda 3 with 46k miles from Biggers on June 1, 2010 "as is". By the following week my check engine and airbag lights illuminated. I had my brother (certified mechanic) check over the vehicle. He found that I had 1. A broken O2 sensor causing the engine check light ($500) 2. Two holes in the exhaust (~$500) 3. Fluid leak from my struts (~$300) Also, my hazards were disconnected. I took the vehicle into Biggers after it died on the highway today because of the O2 sensor and they basically told me it was my problem and didn't give any explanation for how the engine and airbag light would come on after a week of use. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this reeks of the dealership clearing the error codes in the computer to turn the engine check and airbag light off. I realize this car is "as is", but there's due diligence that goes into selling a car if you're a dealership - that's why you pay more than a private party price! Add to this a high probability of deceptive practice and you have a dealership that isn't interested in fostering relationships with customers, but would rather make a quick buck. Save your time and money, buy a Toyota or Honda. If you are buying a Mazda, don't do it here! read more

I didn't get the work done, and later took it to "AutoZone" and they told me all I needed were new batteries for my security remote, cost me $10.00!!!! read more

Have bought two vehicles here in the last two years, a used truck and a new Mazda 6 the other day. Dealt with Franco, who was extremely knowledgeable and very low pressure. They were my first stop and first to make an offer on my trade. Told them I need to keep checking around and went to Schaumburg Mazda. You can read my review of the, but I will say sleazy. Went back to Biggers and left an hour and a half later in my new car. Would highly recommend them. On a side note, the day I was looking at cars it was snowing. By the next day when I had to stop back in to drop off some paperwork. The lot was plowed and all their cars were cleaned off. I haven't car shopped in over 10 years, as I always dread the experience. Wow, Biggers Mazda changed my whole outlook on buying a car with their One and Done program! Franco, our salesperson, was the only person we had to work with. None of the games of going back and forth with a manager, a finance person, etc. Franco showed us a 1 minute video on how Biggers Mazda gives you one price, no bargaining. If you want to buy the car, buy it. If not, feel free to shop for a better price. They do their research to see what a particular car is going for on the internet. So, you may save $50 or $100 if another dealer wants to beat the Biggers price, but that's probably all you'll get. Not worth the hassle, in my opinion. This is a SERVICE DEPT review. I took my Mazda in to have an O2 sensor repaired. The courteous people and service provided met my expectations, however, the application of the service special coupon did not. Though I met they criteria stated on coupon and procedures outlined by the facility, I have yet to receive this discount. I had to pay without the coupon because, well, I needed my car. I have met repeated obstacles (miscommunications, authorization to apply the coupon, etc) to having this money returned to me. Mind you, $75 may not seem much, but these coupons make dealership services competitive with other auto repair shops, and I was promised the discount. The obstacles I encountered seem designed or are a lack of competency. Either way, they do not instill confidence in their service. read more

3 weeks ago, I did some internet searching for a Mazda6 to replace my aging Honda Civic. My biggest issue with other dealerships, was communication. Due to my work schedule, I was only able to communicate by email. Brian was the quickest with responses, so they were the first dealership I visited. We arrived, and the car we inquired about was already pulled out front, ready for the test drive. Brian gave us some time to look at it, then came outside to introduce himself. Absolutely no BS was exchanged, he was very straightforward, and personable. We agreed on a deal, and off to financing we go. I came to the dealership pre-approved from my Chase bank, with a very nice interest rate. Bill, the finance manager we were dealing with, managed to beat that financing by 1%. All told, we arrived at the dealership at 9, and left by 11. Most of that time was spent just getting to know Bill and Brian, and it made the experience much less stressful. Dealerships get a horrible reputation for ripping people off. Biggers Maza (Brian and Bill in particular) realize this perception and absolutely prove it wrong. I look forward to servicing my car there for many years to come, and the occasional conversations with Brian and Bill if I ever see them. read more
