    Fish dinner

This spot here! This spot has been around for more than a decade. I'm 33 and I was the youngest person in the establishment. This is an older crowd where everyone knows everyone, however they treated you like family. They were playing mainly blues and old school r&b. The food was hot and fresh and the prices were definitely reasonable. They have a full bar but no drink menu because as stated earlier, this is a local bar and the people already know what they want lol. That's verbatim from our server's mouth. I had the fish dinner. It has 3 pieces of whitening, fries, and cole slaw.

    Great fun!

Great family welcome at the door with drinks that pour heavy and wings that are the best I've EVER had! Want to find a place with great bight life and dancing? This is it!

I was nervous to walk in as I was in town for business and not a local. It was late and they said they had chicken wings. One thing I learned about Atlanta was, lots of chicken wings, not a lot of hours of service signs lol.... Like I said was a bit scary to walk into, security patted me down tougher than any air port I've ever been to. I got in an let me tell you! This place was ATL FORREAL!!! Extremely nice and friendly environment! Drinks weren't crazy priced, and were poured well, chicken wings were off the chain and the people watching was top notch. I'm from Texas where the do drunk country karaoke at late night bars. Here they did drunk freestyling, it was awesome. Really enjoyed myself and the drinks and the chicken wings. Thank you bigelows!

It's a hole in the wall spot, but always a good time. I prefer Wednesday's for karaoke night or Thursday when they have line dancing. I hear Tuesday gets pretty crowded but i don't do dark crowded places lol. The food is basic and served on styrofoam plates but delicious! I have had the fried wings, fried fish and fried pork chops, All full of flavor! This is a spot that we frequent because with strong cheap drinks, and good food, nothing more is needed from a hole in the wall spot like this!

This is a great hole in the wall spot for good strong drinks, good food and good music. It gets pretty crowded on Tuesdays and the weekends. I believe it's a cover charge after a certain time of $10 dollars. I always come here for the fish dinner. It's sooooo good. Parking can be a nightmare. The guy charges $10 in the lot next to it which is crazy to me. So arrive early for parking in Bigelows lot.

This is a pretty cool hole in a wall spot that has been around for ages. It's mostly an older crowd made up of your locals. It doesn't look like much m the outside (or inside for that matter) but do not be deterred. I enjoy it best on a Saturday night! The music is good and the drinks are STRONG (their Long Islands are lethal). Entrance the last Saturday night I went was $5. I didn't have any cash on me so the door woman held my ID while I paid for an entry stub at the bar inside. It's usually pretty packed out by 11pm so parking in the lot can be difficult. Last time I was there there was parking available across the street for $10. If you're looking for a good time without the glitter and frills, this is the right spot!

Thus is what the bar offers. Lol

We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

Title: Flavor Explosion, Soulful Hospitality & a Last-Minute Meal That Turned Magical…read more Let me just say this: what started as a "quick bite before closing" turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at The Poach Social about 20 minutes before closing, unsure if we'd be rushed--but instead, we were welcomed with warmth and ease. Lived the ambiance. Hunter, our server, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel taken care of from the very start. Then came Victor, the owner and chef--and this is where things shifted from good to special. Without us even asking, he recommended a mocktail that felt like it was made just for me: a sorrel-based drink layered with ginger, spice, herbs, and fresh fruit. It was refreshing, balanced, and honestly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've had. We started with the jerk egg rolls... and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were clapping after the first bite. Crispy, juicy, flavorful, with a sweet-spicy sauce that just worked. We immediately knew we'd be taking more to go. For the main course, we ordered the Poach Social breakfast plate and the blackened salmon with polenta. The breakfast plate was comforting and well-executed, but the salmon dish? Absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with creamy polenta and a rich sauce that brought everything together. It was a full-on flavor experience. The timing of everything--from drinks to apps to entrées--was seamless. Hunter checked in at the perfect moments, never too much, never too little. We ended up in a lovely conversation with Victor, who is not only talented but genuinely kind and passionate. He brought us complimentary slices of carrot cake, and even though we were already full... we ate every bite. No regrets. It was phenomenal. What I loved most is that this place doesn't just serve food--it creates an experience. There's intention, care, and heart behind everything. If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go. This place deserves to thrive. We will absolutely be back.

Open Wednesday - Sunday. We welcomed the calm, family-friendly vibe and free parking. Even with the rain, we were dry and toasty. Other than breathing fresh air, you wouldn't know you're outside. Seat yourself and scan a QR code with your phone to order and prepay. Being old school I think you get better tips by greeting the table and giving recommendations. But there was only one server, she was friendly and hustling. I love the grown up music - neo soul and pop (Selena, Ed Sheeran), with enough volume to hear each other, clean restrooms and comfy seating. Food came out quick, hot and fresh. The amiable owner greeted us after to inquire about our meals. We had a party of 7 (4 adults, 2 teens, 1 kid). I loved my pancake breakfast! The filling, not too sweet hot cakes were promptly drenched in warmed Mrs. Butterworths. Applewood smoked bacon? Blissful. Scrambled eggs with cheese? Dreamy. I devoured it all and left full and content. My Dad said the Blueberry Pancakes were the best breakfast he ever had! Ms. Chicken and Waffles thought the poultry was a bit salty yet "well-seasoned with the perfect crunch." Waffle? Delicious. On a scale of 1-5, Mr. Cream Cheese French Toast and Grits Bowl ranked it 10! "Grits were magical, better than Milk and Honey." Teen's Simple Breakfast (potatoes, eggs and bacon) and French Toast "blew IHOP out of the water!" Preteen ranked his Simple Breakfast and side of French Toast "5 quintillion!" The bacon was a bit tough but the bread blew him away! Kiddo - ranked her kids breakfast (large fruit-topped pancake with eggs and bacon) 6 out of 5! Would we return and recommend? A resounding yes! This quaint, low-key family owned business with amazing food gets our vote every time.

Breakfast Sampler. Buttermilk Pancakes. Creamy Parmesan Grits. Coffee. Cinnamon Sugar Croissant Bites. If you're wondering if it was too much food, the answer is absolutely not. The food was good. Like pause mid bite and nod your head good. Everything tasted fresh and cooked to order, which explains why it took a little while to hit the table. Worth the wait. However, somebody back there is not afraid of seasoning. At all. Bold. Confident. Heavy handed. The kind of salt level that makes you sip your coffee and look at your partner like are you tasting this too. Did it stop us from eating. No. Did we still clean our plates. Also no question. And then there were the cinnamon sugar croissant bites. Sweet. Soft. Dangerous. These caused the most tension at the table. One of us said we were full. The other immediately reached for the last bite. Overall, Huskey's Kitchen is a solid brunch spot with big flavors and fresh food. We would absolutely come back. Next visit we're requesting light salt and ordering those croissant bites again because some lessons are learned and some are ignored. She eats. He eats. Right after we had ordered, they actually stopped taking orders for a bit so they could clear the place out! My food was done probably in 20 or 30 minutes, looked great when it was shown to me, but after eating it, I can say that the chicken was quite literally the only good part. The rice and vegetables tasted like it was bought in the freezer section at a store, definitely not fried fresh and you can tell the difference. I ended up only eating the chicken and throwing the rest away. Running a place with high demand I can understand if it is from the freezer because orders need to go out in a timely manner, but it was unacceptable and really surprised me coming from you guys. I'll still give my business to you, but I'll never get the Hibachi again.

The shrimp had just the right amount of Cajun seasoning, the grits were smooth and cheesy, the vegan sausage was nice and savory, and I loved the little grilled piece of focaccia bread. My fiancé loved the Kirkwood Breakfast. Especially the lavender biscuit and the preserves that went with it. He was also a huge fan of the honey bacon.
