Anytime I tried to reach the company, "Johnny J" (owner) always answered, friendly as could be. He explained the process from beginning to end, starting with why the wood needs a couple days in the home before installation. I don't know much about installing floors but I really felt like he was doing it right and not rushing to make the sale or get it done. The workers were fast and meticulous when it came to their work and cleanliness. I paid a extra to have them rip out the carpet, something I could have done my own, but nice to have someone else do for you and haul it away. Choosing a color stain was a challenge and I probably annoyed "Johnny" with my indecision, but ultimately with his advice I chose the best color for my home. Dogs and Hardwood Floors... I have TWO large dogs and they are rough on the floors but you would never know it. They've held up beautifully and again, Johnny's experience came into play as he consulted me with what finish to go with that would show the least amount a "dog nail" wear and tear. If you're in the market or having a tough time picking between two installers, I don't think you can go wrong with All American Hardwood Floors. He was very attentive to the time-sensitive character of the work and walked us through all the technical requirements of the job. The price he offered was basically the same a the one we ended up going for. We did not end up working with Julio because he did not have availability this week but we had an excellent experience and his opinion fully coincided with the one of the company we ended up working with (given that their schedule was more compatible with our needs). Julio is the worst contractor that I have used in 25 years as homeowner. Julio did not tell me, he just left the old shower handle in the shower, and put new tiles on top of the shower handle. Who's going to spending $10K on bathroom remodel and leave old shower handle. Julio would not fix this mistake and want to charge me extra for fix his mistake when I have already paid him to replace the shower assembly. This is truly a dishonest business. Julio does not communicate well and gets upset easily. He got upset when I wanted to see the material receipts when I am paying for the material and he got upset when I wrote his business name on the check instead of his own name. Do not use Castillo.
