I bought a hauling trailer last year from this business and I am very pleased with this purchase. At the time of purchase, I was helped right away, taken through the parking lot for an overview of all trailers. This is a great place to purchase trailers for yourself or for your business. They also provide Warranties and have staff that can fix your trailers. I called this week and spoke with Jesus regarding fixing a part on my trailer a year later and Jesus got on it right away. He called me the same day to give me an update on part and schedule me for the repair. I was very pleased with the customer service provided by Jesus and the turn around of scheduled service. I had the absolute best purchasing experience with Big Tex Trailers, Phoenix. I live in Tucson, so my initial contat with Kevin, the GM, was over the phone. He was very pleasant to deal with and happily handled the deposit for the trailer over the phone. Fast forward a week and I called Kevin to give him a days notice that I would be coming up to Phoenix the next day to pick up the trailer, as always, he was great to deal with. I showed up to pick up the trailer and Kevin already had the paperwork done, gave me a golf cart ride to check out the trailer, and the entire transaction took 30 minutes, seriously, 30 minutes. He even reminded about buying a spare tire, as I had spaced it out. The best part was that Kevin told me about a 3rd party DMV place 3 blocks away and I went over there and had the title and registration done before I even took the trailer off the lot. Saved me an extra trip to get it done when I got home. When I got back, the guys in the service bay were really cool and helped me get the trailer connected and the lights checked..they did everything for me! Didn't have to lift a finger. Trust me when I say these folks provide 5 star service, if there would have been a 6 star option I would have done it. These folks are awesome and well worth the drive up from Phoenix. read more

I am giving them two stars because I acknowledge people make mistakes and that is possible here. I am a contractor so I know how I would have handled it and it is not how they did so they get a poor rating. The short version is one of Big Tex's employees, Mr. Patrino, sent me over a quote for a trailer. I am out of Vegas so I asked the local dealer to come a little closer to Big Tex's price (he was $2000 more than this guy in Phoenix for the same exact trailer). Instead they apparently are buddies and the Vegas dealer calls Mr. Patrino at which point Big Tex sends me another quote real close to the Vegas guy's quote. I am pretty sure this is called price fixing and is illegal In the United States, price fixing can be prosecuted as a criminal federal offense under Section 1 of the Sherman Antitrust Act. ... Proof that competitors have shared prices can be used as part of the evidence of an illegal price fixing agreement. While I am not going to take it any further, this is who you are doing business with if you purchase from these guys. Can't say you weren't told. read more

On two occasions I tried to purchase a trailer from here and was unable to. I'll explain: 1st attempt: I arrived to big Tex with $7000 in my pocket ready to buy a trailer. I walked around the yard looked around and found something that looked like it would fit my needs. As I began walking towards the office, an attendant came out and walked towards me. At that same time, another customer pulled into the lot and jumped out their truck. As I continued walking towards the attendant , he stopped looking at my direction then focuses his attention to the guy that had just pulled up. As I walked closer I heard the attendant welcome the other gentleman then ask, "how can I help you?" I was a bit taken back and wondered if I was over reacting. I approached the attendant and the customer, and the attendant just informed me and walked off with the customer. . . . Hmmmm.... not quite sure if ethnicity had anything to do with this. I decided I was over reacting and came back for a second try.... 2nd attempt: I returned and walked directly into the office. This time, I let the nice lady behind the counter know I was there to purchase a trailer. She looked over at the guy from my first visit sitting behind her and asked him to help me. He looked up at me, then replied to her, "I'm very busy right now, he is gonna have to find someone else." So looked at me with a puzzled look. Then tells me, " I'll find someone for you." I replied that I would wait outside for them. I heard her call someone else to tell them I was outside and needed help. . . The help never arrived. . . . So After 15 min, left with my $7000 and purchased a very nice trailer elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend. I ask for the sales guy (Mathew) to pull my credit to see what my credit score was. Next thing I know he sent it to a bank. After my approval I asked him what my credit score was he said he didn't know, but would call and find out. He never called. Poor follow up and poor customer service. read more

I am a hotshot business owner who has been in the business for two years I have 5 trucks and 6 trailers. Bought a new 51' big tex ac20 on 3/24/18 from big Tex in Mesa. My first brand new trailer in my fleet so exciting! First week running it. The winch on the trailer does not work a $1000+ option. The trailer brakes did not work but was only the 7 pin not being wired correctly for my truck. And the trailer bobtails to the right about 10 degrees, so my guess is the axels are not aligned properly. So my company makes about 5k a week with a 3 car hauler. Keep that in mind. Take it into the big Tex in Phoenix today Monday 4/2/18 they said they are backed up for a week and can't get it in to fix the issues till next Monday. So as of right now I bought a brand new trailer for my company and I can not use it for work because the brand new trailer is broken so I am out 5k just on my waiting time. Explained my frustration to big Tex they told me I should have check all that stuff before I bought it. I'm sorry I was confident in your product when I was making the purchase. I will let you know the out come of this issue and how they resolve it when that time comes. This will be posted to every hot shot trucking page on Facebook as well. I can't stand leaving negative reviews and saying bad things about other people- especially on Yelp, where it can negatively affect the business as a whole and other people that work there. That is why if you look at my account, I primarily use Yelp to compliment/help people and businesses, not to complain. I did feel, however, after some consideration, that people should know of my experience with Kevin Dorman at Big Tex trailer, whom I was told was *actually a manager who has been there for 14 years*.. I contacted Kevin Dorman around the second week of December to order a custom Wells Cargo trailer. I told him right out of the gate that I am disabled, that I have health problems, and that I only have about two years left in my working life if I'm lucky, consequently, I'll most likely be more of pain in the backside/more concerned than most who just buy a trailer sitting on the lot because money is tight, and I cannot afford to make a mistake when ordering this trailer..but I gave him my word that I'll order from him so it won't be wasted time (I foolishly assumed in good faith of course that he would simply do his job). I also made it crystal clear that I needed to iron out the order details, approve the bid, and pay for the trailer before the end of the year, so that it goes on the 2015 taxes, and gives us some much needed help with our financial situation. Kevin didn't even call and introduce himself, or find it within himself to utter any normal salesperson greeting such as "Oh o.k., sounds like this is important, but I'm happy to help you find what you're looking for,and we'll get it done." Nope, he just started emailing numbers. I cannot remember the last time I received colder "you're just a number/paycheck to me" treatment from a salesman other than Kevin Dorman. Right out of the gate, I told him I'd prefer to work on the phone, as email would be to slow given the fact that time was of the essence. He never called me. I would ask him time and time again to call me (countless times), and he wouldn't call, he would literally ignore my countless requests to do business like most men do, on a phone. (It actually causes me a great deal of pain to sit in front of a computer and type emails or long notes like this due to the nerve damage in my neck). When my detailed questions were not even acknowledged/answered, **I finally called him, credit card in hand, to buy an $8000+ trailer**, he was short, irritable, he talked about how busy he was, and I couldn't even speak for five minutes.. one of the only things I asked about was "can I have a permanently mounted ladder installed on the front of this trailer along with my generator, a spare tire, and a ladder rack?" The guy gives me an attitude, talks about how he has been there for 14 years, and how he has never even seen a ladder on a Wells Cargo trailer as no one orders them, doesn't even help/research/answer the question, and hurriedly says "I'm not going to remember this and it's crazy busy, can you type that out and send an email?" Back to email. He answered a couple questions, but flat out ignored most. He also told me (ASSURED ME) that I would need to pay an extra $300+ and order an extra 6" of height in the trailer in order to stand up in inside without hitting my head.. after I called Wells Cargo dealer support myself and asked, they confirmed that he was dead wrong, and the trailer wasn't 6'2" stock, it was in fact 6'7" stock, and I had MORE than enough room. Does it stop there? Nope. He had no clue about basic things such as pass through ports for generator cords, there was an item on the bid called "truss front bows" for $100+, and when I asked what it was he said he wasn't real clear on that and didn't understand when it was explained to him.. and kept telling me to call and work with HIS dealer support person at Wells Cargo, so I could literally do his job! It was painfully simple to understand what the parts were for. Now it's almost Christmas, I literally have a few days to get this order right and pay for it, and the guy goes totally MIA. I send an email, nothing. I wait until 3 days after Christmas. Nothing. I call his work, I ask if he is back from vacation. The girl says "I don't think he even took one." I ask for a manager and say that I seem to not be having luck with him, and I'm out of time, and very nervous.. she says "He is the manager." Finally, I also referred to him by his last name when working with Wells Cargo dealer support, and he must have seen the email and not liked it, as he then began addressing me by my last name only in his next email.. On 12/28 after hearing nothing from Kevin Dorman, I called another dealer, Deer Valley Trailer, and worked with Katey. We did business on the phone in five minutes, done deal. She was AMAZING, thoughtful, and actually cared about my business. Do yourself a favor, avoid Mr. "14 years" like the plague and go somewhere where they actually appreciate you. read more
