I bought a car hauler from David Kelly at this Mesa location but picked it up at the Phoenix location. David was great to work with. Smart man. Very knowledgeable. I showed up to purchase a car hauler that said it was at the site but ended up selling the night before. David ended up selling me the trailer I wanted from Phoenix originally but was more expensive. He dropped $200 off that trailer and I was able to pick it up within 30 minutes. The Phoenix off was helpful when I arrived to pick up the trailer. I didn't get the worker's name but he showed me how to attach the trailer to my truck and then he noticed my truck was not charging the power brakes he took the time to show me where the fuse was for trailer charging which as soon as he pulled it out and put it back it started working again. I've contacted Big Tex three times trying to buy a car hauler, two times in person. The first lady (Lacey Rosson) was very helpful and took my info. The next day I emailed her and the email bounced? So I went on their website and filled out the form then got a response from the store manager (Greg Clark) to contact him and that Lacey no longer works there. So I went in and talked to the new office girl and started over. They said they do not have my info in there system (even though they emailed me?) So I gave it all to her again and I asked for a quote for a car hauler. She said they'd do that and contact me. That was 2 weeks ago.. still no info? I wanted a 14' car hauler and they only had 16' car haulers in stock, which they tried to push me to. That may be why they haven't contacted me? Anyway, from seeing other reviews I guess I'm going to another trailer shop to buy my car hauler. read more

Bought a $7,000 flatbed, Drama City, Install was days late, And more issues... So I bought a new $70,000 truck and got a $7,000 flatbed installed here at big Tex from our dealer. The dealer told us when to come for the truck so we did excited to add another new truck to our fleet. Apparently bolting the bed on took a couple extra days and we kept getting a run around. We had to get a hotel room for 2 more days and wait in Phoenix to bring the truck home. All they have to do is bolt it on and run the wires, the beds are already made by CM. We had the truck a few weeks and got pulled over for no mud flaps and the DOT officer told us he would give us a warning but to talk to the dealer since the truck is required as a commercial vehicle to have mud flaps before it is even sold. We called Chapman Dodge and were put in touch with with Loren who is the manager of Big Tex to remedy the situation. I told him we would stop in and grab the flaps next trip down to Phoenix since it would take too long to have them install them and we would do it ourselves. I drove down to run errands and went to get the flaps, I got this nasty set of too small mud flaps with no framing to keep them off the hit exhaust that melts them. They looked like hey were used for 5 years already too. They were not long enough to be legal either. Just some old junk from the shelf. I had stopped here before to look at trailers, but ended up getting better prices at other places. I'm don't with this place. I don't like wasting my time or being disrespected or neglected by a business. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and won't be going back even if they see the review and want to try to make it better to make the review better. So I bought a trailer from Big Tex Mesa AZ. They did the paperwork and submitted it to my credit union for the loan. They "forgot" to include the registration on the paperwork. The Credit union called with the approval (we were on speaker) and said the paperwork had to be redone to include the registration for the trailer. The manager of the store told them not to worry "We will take care of it for him on this end". As you can guess it didn't happen. I received a call from the title place saying my plate was ready and it was $211. I went and talked to the manager of Big Tex Mesa AZ, and he said "we don't pay that for anyone, it must have been a miscommunication". So be warned about the slippery talking salesman and Manager of Big Tex Mesa AZ. read more

One of the worst companies I've ever worked with. I own a construction company and bought their large dump trailer. We run it heavy but not overloaded. Within a few months of purchasing it the tires were badly chewed up. We took the trailer into Purcell tires which is where we usually buy our heavy-duty tires. They indicated that the tires were underrated for that trailer but that we couldn't put bigger tires that were properly rated because the rims on the trailer also were rated for less than the trailer was designed to carry. We took the trailer into big Tex and they concurred that the rims were too small and we had to buy a new set of rims and tires for around $1,000. Which was frustrating but we moved on. Fast forward to 3 months after that and our trailer is involved in an accident. We had purchased the ball from big Tex and they had installed it and the trailer and they had never been removed from the truck. However with an empty trailer and driving 35 miles an hour the ball came off. When the ball came off both of the safety chains broke almost immediately and the trailer went off to the side of the road where it took out some landscaping and rolled over. I paid to have the trailer towed and the damage to the landscaping it hit fixed. I asked big tex to take a look at the problem as a warranty claim because even if the ball wasn't their fault (I think it was) there's no way that those safety chains should have broken off from an empty trailer traveling 35 miles an hour. I told them that if they were unwilling to fix the damage to the trailer only on warranty, that I would pay for it out of pocket and we would have to figure out what was to happen later on as my crews needed the trailer. I was promised it would be taken care of quickly. This is where the true integrity of the company was on display. I never lost my temper or cussed anybody out, but I was repeatedly told that they would get back to me with an answer and they didn't. Specifically, Lauren is the manager and the one who I was told I had to work with. On four separate occasions Lauren told me to my face that he would call me back and never did. Additionally I called at least five times and talk to somebody in the office and specifically insisted on Lauren calling me back with promises they would make sure he would and he never did. I am going to go down there again tomorrow because I can't get an answer on the phone so this is still not resolved. They have had my trailer now for almost a month with the request to fix it and I cannot get them to return phone calls or tell me what needs to happen. Tomorrow I'm going to have it towed to another company to do the repairs where I will also be buying another trailer. These guys check all the boxes for a crappy company, no integrity, no follow-through, crappy product that they won't stand behind and poor people running their office. Go anywhere else. read more

Well I'm actually pretty disappointed I have to write this review. I bought a 14et about 3 weeks ago. The Manger and I agreed on a price, when I went to pick up the trailer I realized the price wasn't what we settled on, but it was late so I was told they would mail me a check for the difference. The check never arrived, I called to remind them and the check never arrived again.. I had good experiences with Greg and the staff. But unfortunately the man who is in charge cannot be trusted..I thought to myself leaving there store in Mesa of of main st that this would be a good test to see how honest big tex was and they failed.. so buyer beware when dealing with Big tex Trailers..so sad read more

If you are looking for a quality piece of equipment? I highly recommend this location. All my questions were answered by Lacey. She was very knowledgeable about there products and the pricing was exceptional. I purchased a trailer from Lacey. No hidden fees. Very transparent transaction. Amidst the covid pandemic. Other retailer have been gouging the prices due to lack of availability on inventory. To my surprise, the prices at Big Tex were only a hundred or two over pre covid. Not 500 to 1000 over retail. I am a hotshot business owner who has been in the business for two years I have 5 trucks and 6 trailers. Bought a new 51' big tex ac20 on 3/24/18 from big Tex in Mesa. My first brand new trailer in my fleet so exciting! First week running it. The winch on the trailer does not work a $1000+ option. The trailer brakes did not work but was only the 7 pin not being wired correctly for my truck. And the trailer bobtails to the right about 10 degrees, so my guess is the axels are not aligned properly. So my company makes about 5k a week with a 3 car hauler. Keep that in mind. Take it into the big Tex in Phoenix today Monday 4/2/18 they said they are backed up for a week and can't get it in to fix the issues till next Monday. So as of right now I bought a brand new trailer for my company and I can not use it for work because the brand new trailer is broken so I am out 5k just on my waiting time. Explained my frustration to big Tex they told me I should have check all that stuff before I bought it. I'm sorry I was confident in your product when I was making the purchase. I will let you know the out come of this issue and how they resolve it when that time comes. This will be posted to every hot shot trucking page on Facebook as well. My father is disable and is always thinking of new ways to make things easier for travel. He bought a trailer for these people and after raining once the color of the trailer changed. After one trip on a brand new trailer the tires blew and messed up all the front end of his brand new truck. The company knows they are at fault and will not do the right thing.
