Came across this spot at the Montclair farmers market on Sunday. The servers was friendly and they made the sandwiches very quickly! My husband and I split the vodka chicken Parm and a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. The sausage on the breakfast sandwich was so thick and delicious it almost tasted like a burger. But we both preferred the chicken Parm sandwich, it had the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Had a little bit of pesto on there too which was a nice touch. The hoagie roll it came on was delicious too.

Cheese steak with everything!

Fast and friendly service. Great biscuits - large and tasty. Check them out at the Montclair farmers market.

Yelp actually led me to this sandwich shop. I searched for sandwiches in my area, and this was one…read moreof the few places that popped up. I'm forever grateful for that recommendation because they make some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I've tried a few items on the menu, but the one I always recommend is the Hot Italian. Everything about this sandwich is incredible. It's packed with flavor, and you can honestly tell it was made with care. I usually pair it with a bag of chips, and the total comes to around $18. It's absolutely worth every penny and always leaves me full and satisfied. The shop is consistently clean, and the customer service is always friendly and welcoming. I find myself going back over and over again, then telling myself I need to take a break--only to end up back there a few weeks later. That's how good it is. A couple of things to keep in mind before you visit: there's only limited street parking, so you may have to circle the block to find a spot. There's also not much room to wait inside, although they do have a bench or two where you can sit while your sandwich is being prepared. In my experience, the wait is usually around 15 minutes. I've honestly never been here when it wasn't busy, so expect a crowd. But once you take that first bite, you'll understand why. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Small shop with a complete vibe, good music playing through the system, old school arcade, and you can't go wrong with some Dolly Parton baking boxes displayed. Each sandwich is made with a level of precision that is unrivaled. All the ingredients are organized in way that makes an otherwise boring sandwich into something you're looking at in amazement. They aren't the biggest but that's fine, as they make up for it with flavor. They have a nice variety of choices with specials to keep it interesting. The service has been excellent when ordering ahead, everything is ready on time and well packaged and labeled. Not really an eat in type of place only a few tables. Really for take out only. I also appreciated the double portion of chicken, which is something you don't see at most chicken sandwich spots. Parking is difficult, and the place sits a handful of people max. Overall, a solid sandwich, but I'm not sure the price is justified.

I recently stopped by Weslo's for lunch after hearing a lot of hype over the past week about…read moreWeslo's being the best sleeper spot for sandwiches. Weslo's location is definitely a bit discrete and if you're not looking carefully for the sign, it's quite easy to miss. I had a difficult time choosing a sandwich because there were so many that sounded good, but ultimately settled on "The Wentino" ($16.00) -- Genoa Salame, Hot Italian Capicola, Mortadella, Provolone, Mayo, Tomato, Olive Spread, Lettuce, on an herb roll, with extra mortadella for an additional $3.00. $21.04 after tax, before tip. My sandwich was ready in minutes. While Weslo's doesn't have seating inside, they share a space with Loard's Ice Cream, which has plenty of counter seats that you're allowed to dine at. One bite into the sandwich and I knew Weslo's was my new favorite sandwich spot. The bread here has such an incredible texture and tastes like it was just baked fresh out of the oven. The herb roll has a thin, but crunchy crust, and the inside is light, fluffy, and flavorful. I'll need to find out where they source their bread because it's honestly better than some expensive sourdough loaves that I've had from bakeries. There's a generous about of olive tapenade on both sides of the bread, and because the bread is so nicely toasted, it doesn't get soggy at all and holds up well to the mountain of ingredients on the inside. The deli meats here are sliced thin, and there's plenty of it. I'm certain even those with big appetites will be satisfied after finishing up a sandwich here. In addition to the bread and the meat, every element of the sandwich was thoughtfully and carefully prepared here. The tomatoes and lettuce were both cut uniformly, stacking order of ingredients was optimal, and the ingredients had the perfect balance, where the saltiness of the cured meats and tapenade were offset by the freshness of the vegetables. I can't recommend Weslo's enough. People online are always talking about OK's Deli and The Saint down the street as their favorite sandwich spots in the East Bay, but these folks have to stop by Weslo's to check it out. The sandwiches here are some of the best.

The bread (french roll) was soft but without the crunchy crust that should be par for a french roll. The meats were ok, and the iceberg wasn't bad, but not great. Maybe three stars for the sandwich, but nowhere near as good as Alameda's other sandwich shops, Domenico's or Santoro's. The service was bad. First the young counter guy had no idea what I meant when I asked to substitute havarti for swiss. Then he charged me $.80 to "add cheese" to the sandwich when it already had cheese. The older woman (owner?) and another young counter guy then came out from behind the counter and had a long, almost shouted conversation in front of the register, all while eating soft serve. After 15 minutes of that, I approached the counter to find my sandwich sitting there. Not that anyone had bothered to tell me it was ready. Anyway, definitely not going back. I will however go back to Domenico's and Santoro's many times!

I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

Don't come in solo expecting a side table.
