Short stack pancakes with a side of crispy bacon

We found this quaint little gem, unfortunately, as we were heading back to Ohio (8/10/24). If you haven't tried this place, GO! We were greeted with smiles, our glasses never went dry, and their coffee is really good! Our server, Pam, was awesome! Our food was on point, and the servings are huge! We had biscuits and gravy with crispy bacon and short stack pancakes with bacon and breakfast burrito with cheese grits.

Tried out the Red Door Cafe for breakfast. It is a cute little trailer in the parking lot of Club Destin where we are staying. The smoked meats radiate around the building during lunch time. We came for breakfast and I ordered the avocado toast and the hubs ordered the Cajun omelet. The omelet had tons of flavor and was topped with a rich cream sauce. The avocado toast was sooooo good. (If you like avocado toast!) I really enjoyed the egg on top and crumbles of bacon. Definitely will be back and look forward to trying their lunch and milkshakes.

Visited here for Sunday morning- welcomed right away by the lovely smiling hostess. We had an awesome breakfast here, they are under new ownership only open for 2 months. We really were full when we left here, we had enough food for left overs. Our waitress Mia was amazing she recommended dishes and she was very attentive and friendly. We'll be back we love local joints this place reminds me of diners drive in & dives. Go check them out!

**ETA-the manager called me and apologized for a misunderstanding on the phone. I will be getting something else in it's place. Thank you Casey. Ordered their "signature Strawberry Pie" to go. The picture on the menu looks like it's full of strawberries. We got home and it's cheesecake with canned strawberry topping on top. We don't eat cheesecake, didn't order cheesecake-so I called to see if I could get something else. I was told by a waitress (I presume) that the manager said you can't bring food back after it's left the restaurant-mind you-it was to go and was in a container when we got it. Also-it was very small. Check out the pictures. The grits were great!

The food was good; however, our server must have thought that we were not going to tip because when we got our bill - we were not charged the prices that were printed on the menu. A 14-18% increase was added to every item. I saw it but still paid the bill AND tipped at least 20%. After contemplating, I called to ask what the increased prices were, and our server stated that "sometimes the system automatically adds a food tax" to the bill, but there was already a tax line item on the bill below IN ADDITION to the increased prices. She then stuttered a bit and changed her story - so I left it alone. Well needless to say - it appeared that she added her tip to the "food tax". Both items were $14.95 on the menu and look at what she charged us! We downright bynpeople and tip very good and this was a deceitful and dishonest. So sad because the food was good.

The dinner is in a converted box car trailer.

The quaint establishment is located outside of the Destin Resort. It is a converted box car trailer. Spacious seating at the counter or diner. Hostess and server was very nice and the food was delicious and seasoned. The price is affordable, portions were great and the eggs were fluffy. Definitely recommended.

Great for breakfast and reasonably priced. The wait staff was very polite and the wait time was very short!

Eggs and bacon not cooked to order. Grits had a strong garlic taste. Would not go back.

The space has a cool indoor/outdoor setup, and the night we went they had live music, which made the whole place feel really lively. We sat inside but could still enjoy the music while catching some basketball games. The menu leans Mediterranean and everything looked incredible. We started with the tzatziki, shrimp wonton rolls, and potstickers. All three were great, but the shrimp wonton rolls were my favorite. For my main, I ordered the grilled shrimp pita (loaded with shrimp) with fries--definitely hit the spot. Around the table we also had burgers, a Mediterranean bowl, and pork belly tacos, and everyone loved their meals. We were so full we didn't even make it to dessert. Overall, great vibe, great food, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out--just plan on taking an Uber or Lyft since parking is limited.

Servers walking around like space cadets, group after group left because they couldn't get waited on. Ask for something because they forgot to bring it...? Good luck getting it or a server back to your table! We had to go source our own condiments amd napkins. Asked for well done burger, it was medium rare. Only good thing to say is the location.

We visited The Local Market because we kept hearing they had "the best Cuban in Destin." After…read moreeating there, I honestly do not understand the hype at all. First off, this is not a real Cuban sandwich. The bread was completely wrong. Real Cuban bread, especially if you've ever had one from Ybor City in Tampa, has a very specific texture and press. I even explained before ordering that I only wanted the outside pressed and toasted, while the inside stays cool. That's how an authentic Cuban is made. Instead, they brought out a sandwich that was heated completely through. The meat, cheese, everything inside was hot. It completely ruined the sandwich. When I politely asked about it, the employee seemed irritated and had an attitude about remaking it. They eventually brought another one out, but honestly it still was not good. The bread tasted wrong and the sandwich itself just wasn't enjoyable. It got worse from there. My grandson ordered chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were bad, and the fries tasted like old grease that should have been changed hours earlier. My wife ordered a shredded chicken and cheese sandwich that honestly smelled questionable, like the chicken may have been turning. The final straw was the fruit cup having visible mold growing in it. At that point we lost our appetite and decided to leave. Very disappointing experience overall. Poor food quality, bad execution, and not worth the money. We will not be returning.

Weekends seem to be busy, so be prepared to wait a little. You can call ahead and get on their waiting list, they don't take reservations. Our servers were wonderful both times. First time we went I ordered the Maque Choux Benedict. The base was beautiful Golden brown Green Tomatoes instead of English muffin, delicious Crab cakes on top of that, topped off with poached eggs, scratch made maque choux, Creole Hollandaise, Andouille sausage, green onions and dusted with paprika. My sister got the Crawfish Egg-toufee. It also had the fried green tomatoes as the base, topped with Bacon, poached eggs, Creole Hollandaise, Crawfish and green onion. Both dishes were delicious. The Maque Choux Benedict was so good I devoured the entire dish. It's a really filling dish so it was perfect before the hike my sister and I went on. Second time around I ended up getting the Lobster gouda grits and my sister got Avocado toast with Lobster. The grits was delicious, just the right amount of spice and creamy. It's a must try. My sister enjoyed her dish as well. All in all we had a great experience and will definitely return on our next visit.
