Service was warm and attentive, though with only a couple of other tables occupied, I would expect nothing less. My first drink, a flat Dr. Pepper, was quickly swapped out for sweet tea, which was far more satisfying. We started with the fried mushrooms, and honestly--they stole the show. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and seasoned just right. We devoured every single one, which might explain why we struggled to finish our entrées. As for the mains, the roasted corn was cooked well but lacked seasoning, and the coleslaw was forgettable. My chopped steak had a nice mix of peppers and onions but arrived without the gravy promised on the menu, leaving it on the dry side. To top it off, when I asked for A1, it came in a tiny ramekin... with an extra charge. In the end, Jefferson's wasn't a disaster, but it wasn't memorable either--except for those fried mushrooms. If I ever return, it'll be for them and them alone.
