Down sides the floor are sticky and so are the tables but I have a feeling it's the cleaner they use, because the waitress were cleaning the tables the whole time we were there. Well, one thing I have learned is to pay attention to the reviews. We ordered chicken wings with curly fries, and the wings were served cold! The serving of curly fries was minimal at best, but the waitress took care of that for us. Brought out a fresh basket that was nice and hot. The negative reviews are true and at point. Heard great things about Jefferson's and went with expectations. Sorry to say the food did not meet those not even close. We went with several versions of their signature wings. They claim double cooked guess why? First cooking was at noon and they recooked at 6 pm I can only guess. Hard as a rock wings with lacking sauce. Save you money go anywhere else. read more

Group of 7 tonight. Walked in and immediately noticed the floor was sticky....yuck. Tables were not clean as well. Given menus. Ordered food. Wings were cold. Burger tasteless. Fries were on par with concession stand ballpark fries that had been in a warmer for about 30 minutes. This is the 2nd time we have eaten here. This was the LAST time we will eat at any Jefferson's. Total for 7 people - $161! Save your money and choose other establishments, of which there are many choices. read more

Not a good lunch at Jeff today! I tried something different with the teriyaki Hawaiian grilled chicken and I was seriously disappointed. I got cold fries, a grease soaked bun with wilted lettuce, and burned dried out chicken breast. I had high hopes for this sandwich as one of the servers had recommended it! I ordered a side salad as well. When I told the server after 3 bites I had taken, that it was not good and dried out, I got basically an "oh well here's your bill." By the way, the "ham" on this sandwich is your basic cooked to death cheap deli meat from Walmart. Pitiful sandwich. I'd be embarrassed to have served that to anyone let alone charge them for what they clearly didn't eat. So I paid my ticket after a seriously lacking lunch of $20 for a tea and a side salad. I've been here three or four times now and have always had a pretty good experience. Parking in the lot matches pretty close to seating inside, so if you can find a spot to park, you're probably safe in finding someplace to sit inside. As far as the food goes, think bar food/diner. Nothing fancy about this pace and that's ok. The food speaks for itself. My only problem, I've ordered the burger and am pretty much stuck on that now. Good thing is my fiance likes to try different things so I may steal a bite of her food from time to time. All in all, the food here is really good. Servers are all really nice, the only negative (minus one star) is the fact that there is typically a bit of a wait for food and drink refills. Again, not that the servers aren't friendly, they really are and they make the dining experience quite nice....just expect that you may have to ask for a refill or the check when you're ready to go. Really the definition of a dive joint. Good experience every time. Would recommend! read more

I've tried to like this Jefferson's. I do like other locations, but this one is really awful. Been here a couple of times and each time my experience is just not that good. I love wings, and a place known for wings should have great wings... and Jeffersons (as a whole) does not. But that's only part of this review. The main reason for this one star is a result of my last visit. It was just my wife and I for a dinner on the later side (about 7 pm). The parking lot was half full, the restaurant was about the same. We walked right in and grabbed a booth. The booth was clean, but the floor was slippery (as it usually is) and just looked dirty. Our server was not very outgoing. I kind of got the sense that she didn't really want to be there. When she actually was at our table, she was quiet and had zero personality. Once she took our order, the next time we saw her was when she dropped the check at the table. Someone else ran our food out to us and our server never checked back with us to see if we needed anything or drink refills. I ordered a "Black N Blue" burger. I asked for it to be cooked medium. I received a hockey puck that had blackening seasoning poured on top and a small sprinkling of blue cheese crumbles. I suppose that matches the description on the menu, but certainly that's not how this burger is supposed to be presented? All I could taste was the seasoning and it was very dry. I added ketchup to my burger just to make it less dry. Usually I don't think much about the fries that come with a burger, but that was the saving grace here. At least the fries were cooked right and tasted great. This location used to be a Strut's. I miss having Strut's here. The food was much better and the servers were at least friendly (if not overworked). Will I be back here? Don't bet on it and judging from other's reviews, looks like much of Rainbow City feels the same way. read more

Jefferson's is always great for wings and burgers Not the fastest service, but I just don't go when I'm in a hurry. We got to play bingo tonight! Maybe a Monday thing? I chose the chili burger which was great with ranch drizzled on it. Lemon pepper wings were also very good. Update - continues to be 5 stars. To-go was right on time today if you need to carry out they will hook you up. And the buffalo chicken nachos are amazing. If you're going for the first time it's a great suggestion, especially if you're not in the mood for burgers or wings. I got mine grilled chicken with sweet n sassy sauce and asked for the blue cheese crumbles. Let me put it this way: I was chowing down so hard I think I might have eaten a little of the paper on the bottom! It was mildly spicy my way - if you want more get a hotter sauce on the chicken and if you want less get like the honey bbq and no jalapeños. I usually love Jefferson's! That being said, I went to lunch with my dad and his long time friend, and it was not that impressive. I don't expect amazing food every single time (though it's usually the case here!) but I ordered the grilled chicken TENDERS. I received a little less than a finger. Tiny little bitty chicken "tenders" and I finished them in a bout three bites. I'm not too big myself, but good lord. Anyone could finish them in two bites. Not to mention our waitress, though she was sweet, forgot many things, and never wrote a single thing down. That always bothered me, especially as a former server. My father and I went here to eat tonight and we left full and satisfied. I had the 15-piece wing dinner, my flavors of choice being Cajun and Asian zinger, with fries and celery. The wings were delicious as usual, and my father even traded a couple of his "double-dipped" wings for a couple of mine. In the past, I've ordered garlic Parmesan and lemon pepper wings, and they were delicious as well. Among the minor complaints I have is that there were little bits of trash scattered across the floor when we came in that weren't tended to until we were about to leave, it was a bit too hot for comfort until another customer called attention to it, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a couple of days. We also noticed that they still had all of their decorated dollar bills taped to the wall even though their Downtown Gadsden location had roaches behind them a month or two ago. You'd think that they would've taken them down here, too, but I guess not... I even heard that another restaurant in the same area took all of their decorated dollar bills off the wall as a precaution. Regardless, the waitresses were friendly and helpful, and I'll still be coming to this restaurant every once in a while to satisfy my cravings for wings. I wonder if the owners know how bad the Rainbow City Location is being run or if they don't care. If you call for takeout, you may be second in line but it will be 15 minutes because they don't answer the phone. If you are at the bar, you see them not answering the phone. Once you bring your food home, something will be wrong, guaranteed. The bartender has to ask customers how to make basic drinks. The wait for food is very slow. Predictable bar food with a less than stellar atmosphere. I have been to this location three times in the last 30 days. The first time I had bad service. The second visit I had pretty good service and was thinking that the first trip was just one bad night. Then came the third visit and all hope was lost. Wrong beer, then warm beer and finally out of any beer that I would drink. This was the worse experience I have ever had at a Jefferson's restaurant. My friend and I came to this location and the service was horrible!!! The drinks taste like straight syrup and no alcohol. No one acknowledged us. The waitress did not pay us any attention and sat at another table and talk to them. She had our water under her arm and the food was disgusting. Our appetizer came out the same time our food did and the waitress didn't seem to care. I will support the Downtown location from now on. No one had on a mask not even the bartender.
