Ambiance is a mix of old fashioned family style and sports bar. Sat outside on a perfect day. Service was friendly and friendly efficient. The menu has a large selection of burgers, sandwiches and other options. Everyone in our small group was a tator tor fan and they did not disappoint. The fried pickles on our chicken sandwich were good. Maybe not as crispy as we expected for a place famous for fried pickles. Still a nice sandwich. Value for the money was good. I ordered my lunch from this place today. After waiting inside for my order I expected hot, fresh everything. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap with fries! I have never tasted such disgusting food. The fries were either old from freezer burn and they tried to cook them or they were some from the day before that they attempted to reheat. The taste was horrible. The wrap as dry and tasted just like the fries. I almost wondered if they were frying in months old grease!! Needless to say I took the food back in and received a refund. The service, is in your face aggressive. I felt like I could not breathe, speak, or have a 30 second conversation without service asking if "we were good". Stopped by for lunch on a business trip, as I try and visit locally owned eateries. They were not busy when I arrived just before noon, but people slowly trickled in for lunch. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with fries (apparently fries are a premium side) and tea. It took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive, which was long for lunch. The chicken was overcooked, and that those hard stringy bits of over done chicken. The fries were cold when delivered. I was already running late or I would have sent them back. I had a few problems July10 and I am only going to speak on one - the food/prices. A friend and I were in for lunch and very few others were seated. Anyway, were ordered the same thing - the chicken salad. They were served in a bowl that looked wide - but it was deceiving because was very shallow (1/2 - 3/4 inches deep). Each salad contained under a cup and a half of lettuce, scant tomatoes, a touch of cheese, and a tablespoon of dressing. Also with the salads were topped with a few very stale croutons. I had coke, my friend had tea and the cost for this was $36.00. I know prices are up but this is beyond acceptable. After stating that I would never return to this location due to our last experience here, we decided to give them one more chance. Two out of our party of four did not receive their drinks until well after we finished our appetizers. Just sitting there with cotton mouth. Then two out of our party of four ordered double dipped chicken tenders and a double dipped chicken sandwich. Both meals were just regular fried chicken which is fine, that can be redone. However, both the waitress and the kitchen staff acted like they didn't know what double dipped means. Which is clearly stated on their menu. We had to tell her twice what double dipped means. Which is also. But, here's the problem. One of us had taken a bite from the chicken sandwich and she asked if he wanted it retossed. He told her no it was never tossed to begin with. You would think that if someone took a bite out of the chicken then they would receive a fresh piece of chicken. The meal was brought back to the table with the same piece of chicken that is missing a bite from it refried in the same grease that they cook other customers food in. I think we can all agree that this is unsanitary. Both meals that were "replaced" and double dipped were extremely overcooked. A $57 bill for two people and received the same trash service that we received the last time we were there one year ago. 10/10 do not recommend. We will keep our business at the Jacksonville location. This review doesn't even deserve one star. You only got it because I was forced. Also, if anyone would like to see the photo of the refried bitten into chicken sandwich then I will be happy to provide it. read more

Was not a big fan of this place. The food, while hot lacked a lot of flavor. The fried pickles were very salty, but manageable to eat through. As for the wings, no salt or seasoning at all. The buffalo sauce wasn't as spicy as I like and it was very watery. Very small wings too for the price. The best thing I had was the Caramel Apple Shots which was a bummer considering how hungry I was. I don't think I would stop here again when traveling. read more

I had lunch with a colleague at Jefferson's in Oxford, AL. She had wings and fries, and I had a patty melt with mac and cheese. I typically eat fries with my patty melt, but today I decided to be different. The picture of the mac and cheese on the menu got my attention. It looked smooth and creamy, and while I love homemade mac and cheese, I decided to give it a try. The mac and cheese was smooth and delicious just like my entrée. The patty melt was made in the traditional way that a patty melt is prepared: a fried ground beef patty on toast with cheese and onions. This one had an extra attraction, thousand island dressing. I originally asked for it to be on the side, but the waitress informed me that the kitchen put it on the sandwich. It was awesome. Whomever decided on the dressing as a topping was spot on. It wasn't dripping with dressing, but enough to add to the flavor of the sandwich. I don't recall my waitress's name, but she was awesome. I ordered an Arnold Palmer or whatever uncopyrighted name they used, and the mix was perfect. I think I had four glasses and a to go cup. I usually go to the location in Gadsden, but this location had the same quality food, and a different aesthetic. The location in Gadsden almost feels like a club/bar, but the one in Oxford was more sit-down casual dining. All in all, I loved everything about the Jeffersons in Oxford. read more

I love Jefferson's! The fried dill pickles are to die for and the wings always crisp and fresh. I have tried most wing flavors and haven't found one that I don't like (although some have been too spicy for me to handle). The burgers, Philly steaks and chicken sandwiches are all very tasty. We tried the fried shrimp basket tossed in garlic Parmesan sauce our last visit and I have found a new favorite :) Definitely upgrade your fries to loaded cheese fries and go into a cheese carbo-loaded coma with their mac. The cashier was the best experience today. This is the 3rd and final time I will be disappointed by this establishment. At one time I ate here 3-4 times a week. I ordered 10 wings, I looked at the food before I left. It was packed with fries so I trusted the food was fine. I give the fries to my wife and I'm left with 9 wings. Im sending a picture for proof. These are the absolute puniest and sick looking wings I've seen since the last time I got tiny little wings from here. It's become a hit and miss, every other order is a disappointment. Todays $41 is the last for me, I'm not even gonna bother with a manager. This has happened enough times that it's been noticed and not missed. Saw the billboards as I was driving down the I-20 and I was exceptionally hungry...so why not! As you walk into this place you walk through the outdoor seating area. Large space with about 10 or 12 tables. Inside is spacious and has plenty of table and booth seating in the main dining area. An employee told me to feel free to grab any seat...as I went into the main dining area I could then see the separate bar area with bar seating and tables as well. Opted for a table in the bar. Quickly greeted by one of the people working in the bar who showed me the menu and took my drink order. The menu is borderline overwhelming with the number of options they have (see my several pics). Seriously one of the huge benefits to this place is there is something for everyone. Great place to come if you have a group and everyone is craving somethign different. I narrowed it down to a couple things but ultimately went with the shrimp and onion rings (also included hush puppies). Drink came out quickly and food was at me table in under ten minutes. The shrimp were golden friend to perfection and the onion rings were pretty solid as well. Overall taste was really good and fresh. Waitress checked on my several times and made sure my drink was never empty. Overall great experience! Would recommend to anyone traveling though the area. Oysters are rare in rural northeastern Alabama so Jefferson's having them is outstanding. Today they're plump and generous but about half the time they can be tiny and malnourished. So no guarantees. Otherwise a friendly bar atmosphere with bar foods and all the standards, well prepared. read more

We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, and they were pretty good. I noticed, however, once I got to the bottom, the basket was filled with grease. Unfortunately, that trend continued with my platter. I couldn't eat my onion rings because the grease was dripping out of them. I was sick later that night from all of the oil/greasiness of the food.
