The staff was great. Despite the lunch time crowd, our food was served promptly, so quickly that several of my staff commented their surprise. I am certain that if we had a big group he would have been more than happy to help accommodate us. If you haven't eaten here, you are missing out. Try the Reuben, best I ever had.

So as I was driving through Alabama I saw a sign advertising HBH- use the gift card! I have eaten the hams every Christmas- the are great! But I never went into the cafe for a sit down lunch. I had the classic ham sandwich- chunks of spiral sliced ham, lettuce, tomato and slice of Swiss cheese- I felt like I was at home on December 26! Great meal. Had a bowl of their ham and multi bean soup- like home! Cute place, festive atmosphere and nice staff! However- I am not a fan of honey mustard- made my sandwich a little too sweet- I will opt for some spicy brown deli mustard next time- still have more on that gift card!

Not very welcoming, I felt more rushed. I ordered a Turkey sub and fries for lunch. The sandwich was nothing special. It really looked like a sub you make at home with cheap packaged sandwich meat and slice cheese. The meat was only a very few slices. The fries were ehh... they charged .50 for a cup of ranch for the fries which was fine. I've seen these in many cities that I've traveled in. I'm not sure if they all have the same practices or not. It's just seemed mediocre. Maybe I just didn't make the best menu choice...‍

My recommendation is make your own food. Can't be worse than this crap. This place and the American whatever are not genuine American delicatessens. New York and Chicago have delicatessens. The owners/operators must not be first or second generation Americans or they would no better. They're taking advantage of the naive indigenous population.

I understood once I seen it was busy, so I waited I the line to tell her I had ordered online. She told me that my order wasn't ready yet, so I occupied my daughter on the side in plain sight and I waited. I looked up and noticed a new bag on the shelf. Unsure of it was mine, I walked closer and seen my name. I asked "synthia" if my order was complete. And instead of a simple yes. Or getting a simple notification that my order was ready. She rudely replies, "if it's on the shelf that means it's ready." I felt that response was very rude. The same energy taken for the rude response could have been used to simply tell me it was ready, or say "yes" upon me asking. I will not be back. And judging by other reviews on this establishment, I am not the only upset customer that will not be returning.
