There's usually always a hour wait on a Saturday night but thankfully due to football season we got seated immediately. Seems like they were definitely understaffed but nonetheless the service was still great! Food was amazing. I highly recommend ordering the crab claws with butter and the boudin balls ! For my entree I got the shrimp Alfredo and the shrimp was cooked to perfection! I also tried my mother's steak on the surf and turf and it was great as well. The prices in generally are pretty great for the serving size. I'll definitely be back! read more

We just moved to Lincoln from California and decided to try Rick's. The Cajun fettuccine with shrimp and the garlic bread were excellent! We also tried a side order of fried okra and it was the best we had ever had in a restaurant. Our server, Lexi was a sweetheart and gave us great service. The atmosphere is great here. Parking is convenient. The decor is cute and welcoming. The servers are friendly and helpful. On the last occasion we dined in, I had a vegetable plate of sides, and they were average - pretty much what you would expect for things like coleslaw, mashed potatoes, broccoli, green beans, etc. I absolutely love their hush puppies. Soft, not too greasy and just a hint of onion. Delicious! My husband had spaghetti marinara. They did a fantastic job providing plenty of sauce (some places skimp). He did say that the spaghetti was OK, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. Tasted like there was just a little Italian seasoning sprinkled over it or into it before serving. We have also tried the cheese curds appetizer before. It was very nice. We found the price of the items we ordered to be very reasonable. If I have any issue with the restaurant, it is the design of the bathrooms. Talk about sitting on the throne lol. There is one toilet in the men's bathroom and one in the women's. They are elevated on bricks/block. I have no idea what the thinking was regarding this, but if you have limited mobility or you are handicapped, then you are probably out of luck regarding these restrooms. The women's bathroom does have safety rails around the toilet, but they are extremely flimsy aluminum. If you are able-bodied and have no issues restricting your mobility, then this will not be a problem for you, but it is important to note for folks who are in wheelchairs or who have mobility issues because you will either struggle or find it impossible to use the facilities as they are definitely not handicap friendly. There is a very nice changing table in the women's bathroom, so if you have young children, you will find that helpful. I am including a photo of the toilet in the women's bathroom to help out my disabled/mobility challenged friends. read more

my family can NOT stop raving about their Cajun Alfredo sauce. It is like crack. I would swear that the police need to investigate their sauce. we could not get enough of it. Found this place off Lincoln exit if I20. Pretty busy on a Saturday night. Was seated rather quickly minimal wait. Had the grilled Mahi Mahi came out a little overcooked ask for Cole slaw , hush puppies, and fries. Never received hush puppies. Service was busy but average. Came here from miles away as reviews were good and had good variety & steaks. Noticed another Review indicating come early, before 5:30 pm. Arrived at 5:10 m Saturday, wait outside the door. Already. 25 minutes per hostess. Sat in car until they called us. We were sat in separate room, loud on far left. Nice country farm appeal. Waitress took drink order & went ahead ordered Prime rib & Surf & Turf. Here we is the challenging part - At 65 Minutes, Still no food- wife not happy as although large party with kids left, another was brought in Equally loud- room is not very big, so we asked to move. Manager moved us to main room, much quieter, she Apologized for the wait. At 75 minutes since we ordered, the Manager brought our food, apologized again. Food was fairly hot and everything tasty. The food is ok but some things are over priced. The people running the restaurant appear to be friendly.... they will sit you at a table and forget about you. They may not even get your drink order. If theydo take your order then beware that if you are a larger group then they will prepare couples meals 1st. Even people who come in after you will eat and be leaving and you still won't have your food. We had 3 small children who sat and waited almost 2 hours. They didn't even offer food to my 3 2 year old. When I said we were leaving, the management got angry. At us!!! No apologies to us. No discounts offered. Awful experience!!! read more

We love Rick's. The boudin balls are the best with the dippin sauce. Crystal usually alway gets the blacken fish but tried the Ribeye this time. Food is always good. The service staff needs to be trained to go back to the table being served to ask if the customers need anything else. I wanted a piece of stump hole cake. Never got it because we never saw our server after she brought our food. Asked for cocktail sauce when she brought food but never saw it either. Simply put WOW! From the outside this doesn't strike you as anything fancy. They do have a great view of the sun as it's setting, but outside of that it looks like a local's favorite. As we entered we were greeted by a few people outside and the server was quick to seat us. Nothing fancy here, just a typical diner atmosphere with chairs you pull in and out ... I don't recall seeing any booths. The server's (I think were all or mostly all family) seemed to take pride in their job and were very friendly and were more then accommodating throughout our meal. Drink refills, additional dipping sauce, checked on us to make sure the food was cooked to our liking. They hit on all the points that you would expect to get at a upscale restaurant, but unfortunately they are unable to perform and provide this type of service. Food came out quickly and was extremely flavorful. Portions were large and we were able to share an app and an entree (cube steak was amazing!). The broccoli didn't look like anything special, but it was really pretty tasty. And mixing the sauce for the steak with the rice, highly recommended. Dessert actually led us to start googling to try to find recipes for future home use. We really couldn't have been happier with the experience and were led here based on some of the great reviews we saw. DISCLAIMER TIME: Now is probably the time to add - I've read plenty of reviews now and there were a few that were not so nice about people giving this place a high rating. So let's be abundantly clear this isn't a Fleming's or Perry's or Highlands -- But, for what it is it is and comparing it to similar type restaurants, they truly have a great product. Good food and friendly staff. They actually act like they care about your dining experience and it shows throughout the course of the meal. All my past experiences at Rick's have been great. However tonight we showed up at 8:27pm and they would not seat us saying they were closed. Meanwhile the sign outside is glowing the hours "open until 9:00pm"! So disappointing. read more

My wife and I went there February 11 ,2023 what we thought was going to be a nice meal at Rick's. We were wrong steak was maybe 1/4 inch thick very over cooked no taste. One of the worst steaks I have ever eat. Rick's is under new owners it is not what it used to be. The restaurant was so cold we had to wear our big coats the whole time we were there even after complaining to our waitress. Spent $80.00 for the lesson, Name should have been changed when it was sold and I wouldn't have made this mistake. Sorry this happen Rick's used to be outstanding. Usually my aunt eats the appetizers and nibbles a little at her meal. Today she at appetizers and finished her meal then proceeded to order strawberry cheesecake for dessert. That was her seal of approval. I haven't seen her eat that much in one sitting in 30 years of us going out to eat. Heard great things about this grille from locals and decided to check it out. The grille was spacious, always busy, and have this southern charm to it. Plenty of parking space as well. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We went to eat dinner around 6 and sat down right before the dinner crowd started to pick up. The food was surprisingly delicious and we were in love with their hush puppies. Portions are big and easily shareable. We will definitely be coming back more. I had to eat the steak twice to make sure it wasn't luck but this is the best steak I've ever ate at a restaurant. Cooked to perfection and get that dirty rub on it. It's like a semi spicy Cajun rub, it compliments the steak perfectly. Veggies were fresh and actually seasoned. We will be regulars from now on. We came to Lincoln Alabama for a high school soccer tournament. We always love to find the best local places to try. I read some reviews and I knew that Rick's Crossroads Grille was where we were going to eat. For appetizers we started with the boudin balls. They come with a home made hot sauce and it was delicious! Then we had cheese curds and it was one of the beat things I've ever eaten! For our entrees I had the seafood trio fried. Large shrimp and oysters plus catfish and was served with fries and coleslaw. It was very good! The fried foods were seasoned perfect for my taste and nothing was greasy at all. My girlfriend had Tiger Tilapia. It was a large piece of grilled tilapia on top of pasta with grilled shrimp and covered in a Cajun cream sauce. It was amazing and I could have drank a glass of that cream sauce. We were stuffed and the waitress brought over a sample of what they call Stumphole cake. It is a pecan crust with cream cheese caramelized on top. Best dessert I've ever had! Food was great...atmosphere was great and the service was great! What a great restaurant located in Lincoln, Alabama. If you are driving through the state, you should eat at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I had the fried crab claws, ribeye with green beans and the fried cat fish with garlic shrimp cajun sauce on a bed of rice. We washed it down with sweet tea. What a delicious meal! The fried foods were skillfully seasoned and fried. It wasn't oily at all. The crab meat was easy to eat off the shell. The steak was cooked well according to my boyfriend's taste. The food came out promptly. Amy is a great waitress too. She is attentive and personable. She has good suggestions. The restaurant is located by the highway. The Apple GPS will take you to a neighborhood but, obviously, it's the wrong place. It is located next to a stoplight, on top of a hill. You can call them if you get lost, they get those calls all the time. The restaurant is a stand alone structure. It is clean. The food is good, but the service is awful! We were going pretty regular and it was fine. What changed? The night time manager told us that people who came in about 45-60 minutes after us and got their food was because there was only 2 of them and 6 of us. 3 of the us were less than 2 years old. After waiting on our food for 2 hours, I paid for our drinks and appetizer and we left. The kids were starving. I told her that they could have at least have fed the crying babies. Great food and good service. I have been to Rick's multiple times and I have had many different dishes and none of them disappoint. The menu features creole cuisine and they offer Abita beer. Rick, who is from Louisiana, is there most nights and can be seen coming out of the kitchen to visit with his patrons. I recommend the meat pies with a cup of their homemade hot sauce on the side and a slice of Stumphole cake with a cup of coffee for desert. The meat pies are pastries stuffed with beef, pork, and rice. The Stumphole cake is reminiscent of creme brûlée as it features a custard topping and a pecan cake base. Nice place to bring the family! Friendly staff, clean homespun decor and good hearty portions. Plan to wait a bit and be patient. Boudin Balls were a treat. They're served with a spicy sauce and they were great. Fried Mushrooms were sliced, battered & friedserved hot with a side of ranch dressing. Yummy. Prime Rib is available Thursday-Saturday and for $29.00-you can't beat it with a stick! Very generous portion with two sides! Too stuffed to try desert. No Appetizers next time.
