party of 12, (we were all on motorcycles) , we waited 10 minutes to get setup at our tables then waited 1.5 hours for standard lunch to come. our orders came in stages, so they bought 8 orders and 40 minutes later bought the last 4 plates. by then the first 8 were done eating what they could. the last 4 did not want the food anymore because it was cold. Smash burgers were overcooked, dry and bland. Fries were all cold. we will never go back..eventually we were told told to leave because we were complaining about the food and the statement was made by a restaurant employee "that's why i hate bikers, because they are always causing problems" .. we have told all our biker friends and would not recommend this place to anyone read more

Arrived at opening, not to busy with folks but got busy about 1135, but even when we sat down at about 11:10 waitress said the kitchen was behind. Must of been a lot of call in because I only seen a hand full of tables with people at them. I got hamburger steak no Gravy. Onion rings and side salad . Wife got lunch special chicken gravy with sides and apple cobbler. The hamburger I had to use a steak knife to cut. Got 3 large rings. I tasted the apple cobbler had a odd taste, reminded me of the spray my mom sprayed in my mouth when I had a sore throat in the 1990s . 3 adults in on a Sunday for lunch Food was good and the menu was fine, good variety . One of us had the seafood platter, the catfish was the winner there. The sides were good, some side items were sold out. We had the ribeye with cole slaw and fried okra. Very good and reasonable price for 2024. All that said, the best thing was the service; every staff member who went by asked if we needed anything and they were happy to help us. My tea never went below half. Also the view is beautiful. We were not aware there were 2 porches and spent some time trying to find shade, then we went around the corner and there was a big porch all shaded. Slow is redefined at this place. After waiting 1 hour for a table, it took 1 hour and 51 minutes to get food. Once we got served, everything was good but the service was simply horrible. We overheard the staff telling regulars that two employees had been injured in an accident so I'll cut them some slack. One person took our order and never returned. After 45 minutes someone else came by to ask if we needed drink refills and walked off as soon as they finished the sentence not waiting to get our answer. 15 minutes later someone else comes with tea intended for another table but we grabbed since our glasses had been empty for well over 30 minutes. When our food finally hits the table, the runner asked if there was anything else we needed. I said I was still waiting on my salad with blue cheese, we needed butter and sour cream for two baked potatoes and my wife needed ketchup for her fries and cocktail sauce for her shrimp. Her response? You mean you didn't get that salad already and walks off. She never returned with anything we asked for. We stop another person and repeat what we need and they wander off and point at someone else to come to our table. That person then goes off in search of the remainder of our order and takes 2 more trips to the table because they keep forgetting everything we need. The last item to hit the table was the salad dressing. It arrived after we had finished everything else. It wasn't like there weren't enough people on the floor, they just didn't know how to work a full dining room. They walked around, pointed and chatted but were worthless when it comes to serving guests. It's a shame because the food was good and the location on the water is lovely. Was visiting town and decided to check this place out. They were busy so almost 1.5 hour wait. We ordered appetizers and thankfully received those but never got our dinner. Staff started picking up chairs around us so we finally asked if they were closing and we were informed that they were. Inquired about our food to only find out it never got made or placed in the kitchen. Waitress went missing and never checked back on us the entire time to see if we got our food. They didn't even discount the ticket after we sat for 3 hours waiting on dinner we never got. Had high hopes but a return would be doubtful. We waited 2.5 hrs and our server was outside buying the staff ice cream from a truck. Worst service. No air conditioning. The food was expensive and we were all sick afterwards. And then proceeded to talk to 3 different waiters to even get our appetizer order in. I had been hearing about the Back Porch Grill, but we never could find it using our pontoon. So, we drove to it by car. Wonderful restaurant. Great food. Great service! Friendly staff. The hostess was a young girl, who was super nice. We told her this was our first time and she seated us under a weeping willow on the patio. Super nice! Great view of the lake. Down below, in the water, were lots of fish, turtles and later some ducks begging for food to be tossed over. We later found free duck food in the lobby. Nice touch! I had the grilled grouper, which was very good. My wife had the grilled grouper tacos which were also very good. Nice to get grilled fish for a change instead of fried. Side dishes were very good. Donna was our waitress, and she gave super service even though she was very busy. There are places to park a boat and a gas pump. We highly recommend this place. Not a good place to eat!!! Especially the pick up. You need to make sure you check your food before you leave the parking lot or you will be in for a shock. My husband and been done this way twice now. They are not consistent with there food you can get the fish good at times but then next time it's as hard as a rock. Ordered the fish dinner for my husband father day dinner was a complete disaster. Fish was like a brick and baked beans was gummy. I was so hurt. One of our favorite eating places that are accessible by water. Good menu selection and the waiting staff is excellent for the most part. We love sitting out on the deck and watching boats coming and going in the harbor. By far the best seafood I've had locally. The prices are more than fair, and I don't know why there are so many complaints about the prices. This place is nothing fancy, but they more than make up for it with the quality of food and service. The fried oysters are possibly the best I've ever eaten. The jumbo shrimp are as big as chicken tenders, and the hush puppies and Cole slaw make the perfect accompaniment to the delicious seafood! I'd give the place 6 stars if I could! read more

if I could leave a zero I would. service was so bad. we called ahead to let them know we have a party of 18-20 for a birthday party for 5 PM and was told they could accommodate us. At 2 hrs 15 minutes (45 minutes before they close at 8pm) one of our party walked out to the back patio and there is NO party of 30 there. the host admitted that he had been told to keep telling us that because they wanted to seat their friends. Well this place sits on the water at a marina so it gets busy on the weekends from people coming off the water. And I was okay waiting an hour for a table. But I was not okay with waiting OVER an hour to get our food. Plus the meal was not great. The batter they use on their fried pickles and catfish was "gross"! We only saw our waitress once. She never came to apologize and say it was taking longer than usual, or see if we needed refills, or even just to check on us. I'm giving The Back Porch Grill four stars because I think I've finally figured out how to work it. We are calling in our orders and a hour later heading to the restaurant to pick up and enjoy on our boat with our beverage. Is the food good? Sure but not worth the wait. The restaurant is doing all that they can to handle the clientele. I wish I knew something about the restaurant business because I think Logan Martin is begging for places to visit by water. So in my opinion The Back Porch is a great place to visit. I love the outside seating but if you see a ton of boats and people outside just keep going and try another time. read more
