Staff was super nice, knowledgable of what they do, and they quoted me a fair price for tire installation. Raymond was super helpful. Thank you again! read more

Ha. The Oakland guys did fill it up with nitrogen, but found a nail in one of my tires. Wait to fix that: 2+ hours, and nothing nearby to walk to with kids during that time, which we couldn't handle that day. No noticeable air loss so far, so I left to reschedule for another day/location. I went to the original Pinole shop with an appointment. The wait wasn't long, BUT they came back to me claiming the nail was in a spot they couldn't fix (huh? The Oakland guys saw it too and said it was easily doable; as did other experts later). Instead the Pinole guy pushed selling me a new set of tires and became upset when I declined. Anyway, I'm done with the entire BigO franchise system. DON'T get their "lifetime warranty" - they're not following up on it honestly but use use it to make you come back for higher-priced items. read more

Great service here. I came in for a plug in my tire and the staff was very friendly. I only paid $45 and they were done in about an hour. Thanks for awesome service! read more

they suck! we used to come here all the time, but since ownership has changed, I won't be back. They finished the work an hour later than promised and when we came to pick up the car, it was still up on the lift, with the break lights on. And that after them leaving us a message about our battery being almost empty. BTW, we didn't ask to have the battery checked. The guy at the counter who checked us in, walked away before he was done. We had to hunt him down to finish our paperwork. He had gone into the shop and started working on a car. That was weird. otherwise customer service was slow and grouchy read more

Slow service, I was told the wait time of 2 hours for an oil change, fast forward 2 hours and the car still hasn't been touched. Don't bullshit somebody, be honest and upfront. read more

I took 4 Big O Big Foot tires to them for warranty coverage. These are supposed to be good tough tires, $153 each. They tread on several of the tires is bulging out. The serviceman inspected the tires and said this damage is caused by my suspension without even looking at my suspension. It's the same suspension my car had when they installed them. I will be going to a different Big O to get real customer service instead of Catch 22. read more

Big O Tires was great to me. Excellent customer service and they went out of their way to meet my needs. My car is super old and all I needed was one tire for it because I ran over a screw. Andre didn't try to sell me 4 tires like some other tire companies would probably do. He saw the reality of my situation, listened to my needs, and gave me what I asked for, and he, as well as the rest of the crew at Big O Tires, were extremely friendly to me. This was my second time going there and I'd definitely go back again! read more

I dropped my car off for a standard oil change. They said the wait was 2 hours and is a pretty typical wait time on a Saturday. They are also over priced as i paid 54 out the door for a standard oil change on a Toyota Scion, definitely not competitive and not worth the wait. read more

This business practices fraud, and is negligent in their work. I called this business three times on 2-2-2019 and established and confirmed the final out the door price with tax of the exact tire I needed, I went to the site and they padded the bill with a higher cost and explained it away as a mere over sight but I was required to pay. After this they failed to put center caps back on the front wheels and now they lost them and did not accept responsibility. Only go here if you want the opposite of honesty and integrity and perhaps a brush with the criminal element. read more

This is my first review Iv ever written cause the customer service was so bad. One of their employees made a mistake on my tire warranties and instead of fixing the problem or working with me on it Francisco the manager of this location very rudely proceeded to tell me it's my fault and to get over it. I had a flat on the side of the road so I had to pay full price for the tire just to get my car moving again. So at this point they lost me as a customer and I wish I never bought tires from them. I needed tires with a good warranty and it ended up costing me $230 more out of my pocket and then have them tell me it's all my fault. Get tires somewhere else and don't give Francisco any of your business it's will save you a lot of money and time. read more

Really, right now, I want to give them one star. Because I'm irritated. (But I have gotten tires there in the past and generally that has gone okay, so I upped it to two stars.) My check engine light went on this AM and my car is old so I decided I needed to give up a chunk of my precious Saturday to get the car looked at (I work 8-5 plus the SF commute--so the weekend is the only time I am able to get anything done). So I ask the guy at the desk if they have Volvo code readers. He says yes, but I will cost me $125. This seems excessive, but I decide to just bite it because I don't have time to take care of this kind of thing during the week. He also says it will take 45 minutes to an hour. :( To kill time I walk to Berkeley Bowl, and wait for them to call. 90 minutes later the same guy calls and says "Umm, sorry. We can't do your car because we can't do Volvos." (What?!) "I asked you and you said you could." "Yeah, but that chip is broken." So I walk back to get my car. 2 hours of my precious Saturday down the drain. I feel like they should pay ME. They basically took my time. They need to get their s**t together. In the past, my tire service has been fine. But this experience with their shop: not so much. read more

I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR. I just moved here recently and have yet to find a service center that has any quality to it. I am not used to all of these small personally owned shops. I am very aware that auto centers try their hardest to get over on you! Especially when you're a women. That's why I make it a point to know a little about cars, so I don't get worked over. I've had my bad experience a long time ago! NEVER AGAIN, until I HAD to go to BIG HOES! I tried finding other locations that carry my tires. Unfortunately Big O is the closest to me, so i had to go there. I had a slow leak in my tire and I thought my brakes were going. I'm a brake and go girl, so when they started squealing when I come to a fast/hard stop, I think the brakes are bad. I take the car to Big O to have the brakes checked. While they were up there, I said what the heck, why don't you check that leak I have in my tire?! I didn't have cash that day, so I told them I would fix it later, i really didn't want to give them my money. Luckily my brakes were fine! I thought great, that saves me a lot of money! I will just fix my tire later, a slow leak.... I go pick up my car and walk out to see a Spare on it?! "Hhhmmmn", I naturally said to myself. I went back inside and asked them where my tire was. 'Oh" said the idiots behind the counter, " we can't let you drive out of here with a bad tire that is not repairable". Oh, ok, it would of been nice if you would've just told me that. Not too big of a deal... Having that said, I would've just had them change the freakin' tire! I don't like ridin' around on a spare like a ghetto queen, so after checking around for pricing and so on, I ended back up at Big O. They hooked my up in about 30 mins, GREAT! As I'm paying, I ask the guy about my old tire.... He said, oh, we recycle them! WEll, I wanted my tire, once again b/c I don't trust people, (Mechanics especially)! After he has charged my c.c. he said well, they will need to find it. OK, i replied, find it! Then he needed my c.c back to give me a credit, b/c they failed to mention that they CHARGE for RECYCLING the tire! I can throw it away myself for FREE!! The little man from the back rolls my tire out, I immediately notice the nail sticking out of the top of the tire!!! The reason I had the tire replaced is b/c they told me the nail was in the side wall! Well the tire can be patched! So, they got $150.00 out of me, b/c I only roll with the best, Michelin's baby! So, I have yet to have this resolved, bet your ass I will! $150dollar tire aint' cheap!!!! read more

GROUPON deal, beware, yoy been warned! Great deal on GO. For an oil change and filter, synthetic oil . But how long it takes is not practical. Called made appointment. They said 1 hr ish. This place is hit or miss depending on who answers the phone. I initially called and the 1st guy gave me some BS about how they don't have the tires that fit my Honda Civic. Really? Most popular car model for years and you don't have the tires I am looking for? I decided to call again a few hours later and Will answered. He had the exact tires I was looking for in the exact brand that I wanted! Amazing! Wondered why the previous guy couldn't find my tires and tried to push some crappy brand. I came in and Will go my tires on and was done in 30 minutes. Thanks for the great service Will. Wish all your co-workers were as honest and helpful as you. read more

Josh and Big O tires helped me out yesterday when I needed to have my break repaired. He was so nice each time I called to say I was still waiting for the tow truck. Once there my job was complete for a reasonable price in about an hour. Thank you so much for get time back on the road to go home to Modesto. read more

Made an appointment for no reason. They don't honor appointment times. They were condescending about my "complimentary" alignment check after I spent $2,000 on tires. Was really happy with the Big O tires in the city, but this one isn't run well at all. read more

Definitely hard on the up-sell. They tried to charge me again for a tire I paid for in advance (and had to special order) when it finally arrived. A $250 tire. Since I hate having to watch my back in business, I won't be returning any time soon. read more

Never been to this Big O before, but it was near my work, and I had a flat tire so I just drove in. The guys at Big O were so nice to me...I had run over a toenail clipper and it left a pretty big gash in my tire. They told me they'd see if they could repair it, and in about 20 minutes, it was done! During the short time I was waiting, two other guys checked in with me to make sure I was being helped. I was very impressed and will definitely give them my business in the future. read more

I came to Big O Tires to get a tire replaced. The service person, William Santos, told me I needed to have another tire replaced as well and that the car had numerous things wrong with it and the cost to get it all fixed would total nearly $2,000. He said the car was dangerous to drive if these things weren't fixed right away. I told him I wanted to get a second opinion. I took the car to my local gas station, and they said a few things needed to be fixed and gave me an estimate of nearly $400. Also, that the car wasn't dangerous to drive it the repairs weren't made immediately. I will not be patronizing Big O Tires again after this unpleasant experience. read more

Bought 4 new tires with an alignment and warranty. 10,000 miles on Sumitomo tires sold to us by Big-O in Berkeley and the rear tires already blown out. I went back to them and they told me they will not replace or honor the warranty, but they would sell me some more tires at their cost. REALLY!!! Why would anyone buy more tires from these busters! Also to mention The customer service is rude to the point of nearly getting an ass whipping! I would not recommend this or any Big-O for anything. Especially for customer service. This store in Berkeley is the biggest rip-off ever! May this company soon R.I.P!! read more

Super nice and honest people. I took my car in for new brake pads. They said I still had a lot of wear left and that the pulsing action while braking was due to uneven surface rotors from the hot/cold expansion/shrinking of my commuting. He said it was not a safety issue and recommended another look at pad wear at my next oil inspection. It would be most cost effective to resurface or replace rotors when changing pads. And, they did not charge me anything for this inspection and advice. They totally could have charged me hundreds for new rotors and pads, but they were ethical and honest. I'm definitely coming back. Thanks, Big O. read more

I had a great experience with both Luc and Simon. I came in needing two tires replaced and the other two rotated. When one of my rotated tires had a flat the next week, they went out of their way to test the tire (including dunking) to ensure that there wasn't a problem with it (and that someone may have just let the air out..) They even replaced the valve stem just in case. There were no charges for the follow-up testing or for the valve stem replacement. read more

This is my first review on yelp. I am sitting in the waiting room at Big O Tires in Berkeley. I made an appointment to have an alignment on my car, arrived @10' early and was told that it would take about an hour. After an hour and 15' I went up to ask about my car. These Bozos had no idea what was going on with my car but it was in a different spot in the lot than where I had parked it so it had been moved by them. Turns out they started working on it then the last guy who they had serviced brought his car back because it was "pulling" ...yes that's right, after an alignment. I will not be coming back here. read more

Went there for alignment and tire rotation because the Big O on MacArthur closed. I had purchased my tires from them and so my alignment and tire rotation was at no cost. Walked in and the staff basically ignored me while looking at me and I finally said to the female staff person if she was working and assisting customers, she RELUCTANTLY said yes. I told her why I was there. This gentleman came out and said that it would be about 20 to 30 minutes. I waited in the waiting area. 40 minutes later someone came out and handed me my keys. I didn't receive any paperwork, wasn't told if everything was okay with my car, was given a copy of the alignment as I have been given at other places that I've had my car aligned. I had asked them to check my wheel drum as it didn't feel right when I was making right hand turns. No communication whatsoever. The problem with companies that franchise is that they don't follow how the franchises operate and they don't hold them to any standard of service. I won't be returning to any Big Os in the future. They can not be trusted to communicate or take care of your vehicle. read more

I bought my tires in San Ramon from Big O Tires about 18 months ago and the service there was incredible. I brought my car in today to Berkeley and there was nobody behind the desk. I had to go into the service area to find somebody to help me. I waited for maybe 45 minutes before anybody started to work on my car There was only one other person in the waiting room she had been there an hour before her car was serviced and there was nobody ahead of her. The employees seem to disappear and then show up to do a little work. When I got my car back nobody said anything to me. It was a free service to have my tires rotated, but customer service is really lacking. There is nobody in management looking over these guys. The bathroom was filthy. I won't go back there.. This was not a good experience but, Big O Tires is a reputable company. read more

Solid customer service, on-time work, very thorough, clean front room and the sales folks weren't pushy.

Ok, so the staff are really friendly, but dammit, they quoted me an hour and a half, and I ended up there for 3 hours! All this to replace 4 tires? And then, after I return after 2 hours, I'm told they still need to check the alignment which should take "about 25 minutes". So I'm waiting and waiting, and someone tells me, "oh actually, he went to lunch, so it's gonna take a while longer." UHHHHHHHH, what?! I was sitting around Big O for 3 hours! I have better things to do... read more

Extremely unsatisfied!!! This is place is just money sucker. The engine of my car is shaking, they couldn't diagnose what was the reason behind it, they didn't charge me for the diagnose fee for the first time. So they recommended for clean my spark plug and tube for 350??? But he is not guarantee that's the reason of it!! Alright I listened and let them cleaned it, but my car situation got worse. I went back to check another time. They just plugged my car into the computer couldn't scan any error, they brought me to a test drive, I showed them when the vibration happened. You cant just rely on the computer to show you whats wrong, you need to check every single part that could possibility causing it. So they came up with a random reason which cost 1200 to fix! Also, they could charge me the diagnose fee for 120, and recommended to change my filter which didn't place it right, end up we have to come home to fix ourselves!! So I decided to call my dad who is a car mechanic, he told me each spark plug only cost 10-15 dollar each even I change 4 of them wouldn't cost that much. Your labor is 120/hr, plus that wouldve been 180. Also cleaning the tube is not necessary at all, if the oil didn't spray out just change the spark plug. Also the random reason they diagnosed is not the reason of my car shaking!! Which means they shouldn't charge me that 120 dollar as well, they made the reason so expensive so I don't want to fix it. Its a extremely shady place, I could've read yelp review before I go in there. Don't bring your car there if you don't want your wallet bleeding and your car got worse. Avoid this place 100000%!!!! Another side note: I did bring my car for a tire leak, they told me it cant be repaired, you had to change to a new tire. Which along with the spark plug +tube clean cost me almost 500 dollar. Now I saw the other review saying that, they did that on purpose. Just telling people their tire cant be repaired so they could charge you for a new tire. So shady. I wish I could leave 0 star for this place. Extremely unprofessional. This place scammed me almost 800 dollars. Avoid at all cost! read more

The men and women here have been servicing my tire and axle needs since I moved to the area in 2007. I've been to other Big O locations, and the experience is not the same. This location, in particular, is the one to go to. I've been there for new tires, repair of damaged tires, wheel alignments, and wheel balancing. Not once did they ever try and sell me inflated-priced products, or pressure me into getting a service that I didn't feel was needed. They are very customer-desire focused, performing what you want, and only what you want. I absolutely love their tire maintenance policies. If you purchase a new tire from them, they basically give it TLC, for the life of the tire, should you encounter any issue with it, imbalance, etc... Their facility is very clean, not dirty and greasy at all, and they're very careful not to soil the interior of your vehicle while they work on it. The staff is friendly and proactive about informing you of their warranty and what it entails. Most recently, I went there for an axle alignment. Afterward, I still noticed a rightward pull when driving the car, and took it back to them. They rode in the car with me, to eyewitness what I was experiencing, and then went through a series of checks, tests, and procedures, on my vehicle, until it was tweaked to my satisfaction. All of this was done (about an hour or so of work) at no charge, as they simply wanted to ensure that I was happy with the service that I did pay for a couple of weeks earlier. Their desire to see me leave happy is why I will return to this location of Big O, anytime that I require such services on my car. Even if I relocate to an area that isn't as close to this location of Big O, I will still continue to patronize this location. This is a very trustworthy facility! read more

Just got back from this place after a 3 hour wait for the initial quote of 1 hour for a tire rotation and alignment check. I took an off from work today due to being sick and on the way back from the doctor, thought I could get this light task done. I was ok with an hour wait and told them I will wait. Dint mind going around, getting a bite to eat and a coffee and coming back. I took almost 2 hours to get back, saw my car in the same spot as I had left it. I go to the counter, ask the person at the desk, he checks the papers and he says it is just about to go in. I am disappointed, I am burning with fever, I ask them if they can drop me home and pick me once it is done(I live 2 miles from the place)......they say no. I have to wait their another 1 hour with 102F temperature, a very sore throat and a congested chest and nose !! I am sure if I had not come back when I did, they wouldn't have started on it even then. I should have guessed what I was getting into when I got greeted with "whats up" as I had first come in 3 hours back. Will I come back to this shop again....never, will I ever go to another Big O location......most likely not. You just lost a loyal customer of 4 years, thanks Big O tires !! read more
