Came in with a nail in my right rear tire, didn't want to pull it out because I wasn't sure how deep it was or if it went all the way through. They took a look at it and I was expecting a $20 fee for the labor, but since it wasn't punctured, no fee. They didn't try to sell me new tires so it was pretty painless. Rolled away happy. They didn't hoodwink me so I'm giving em props. read more

They were very helpful with everything especially Robert yes the manager over the Napa store but, was in Berkeley that day he really worked with me price wise with all the work I got done . The entire staff was nice and respectful. Thanks Again read more

Nice folks, prompt service. You never want to have to go to the tire store but when you do this is a good place to do it.

Gotta give a quick shout out to Josh and Ray here at this location. I needed 4 tires and an alignment done. They let me know exactly what I needed. Communications and expectations were straight forward and to the point. Very professional and courteous. I will definitely be going back to get my oil changes done here as they come with free tire rotations. read more

Had a tire go flat while at work late at night. I got an appointment for first thing in the morning, had the replacement tire ordered from their supplier, tire delivered, and had it installed all within just a few hours. They made the process so simple that I will definitely be back for all future car issues. read more

Walked in w/no appointment and bad attitude. Was greeted by a friendly "Cynthia" who reassured me that she would take care of my needs immediately. She called someone who unloaded the tire from my truck. The work was done quickly, efficiently and for a great price. Thanks so much Big O and Cynthia for treating people right! read more

I've had a few services done here over the years, with acceptable results. The reason I'm writing this is because their customer service is great. About a year ago I went with what I thought was a leaking tire, and was confident that they would be able to patch it. After I waited about 5 mins, the guy came back and said that there was no puncture; rather the valve had stuck open, and was losing air. He simply lubed the valve needle, inflated it, and gave me back the car. NO charge. Sweet. Granted, he'd had the car only a few minutes, but still, he could have charged me something. Then, a couple weeks ago, I brought a different car in with a leaking tire. Bad news this time. They said that in fact they couldn't fix the tire, as the nail had gone too close to the sidewall, and the patch wouldn't hold. So, I would need to buy a new tire. When I informed them that I would do so on Tirerack.com, and would come back (i.e. I would NOT be buying it from them, cuz tirerack has such smokin' deals) they simply gave me back the car, again, NO CHARGE. After I got the new tire from Tirerack, I gladly brought the car back to Big O and they installed it for a reduced charge of $15, a reduced charge because I just brought them the new tire with the old tire and rim in the trunk of my other car, meaning they didn't have to dismount and re-mount the rim. read more

Bought new tires at Costco and I needed an alignment done. Went to Big O because it's near my office and it got great Yelp reviews. I was able to get a same day appointment over the phone. I waited during the alignment and was out of there in 30 minutes! My car feels great! Thanks, Big O! read more

I went in to BIG-O Tires today and had them install tires on two of my classic cars. The prices were great, cheaper than what I found online, the tires were also in stock AND made in the USA. (Cooper Trendsetter) I dealt with Cameron, Terry & Joe. The were very helpful, friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to get tires there again and would recommend them to anyone. From my experience, the current 2.5 star rating is unwarranted. Thanks for doing good work Berkeley BIG-O! 5 STARS!!! read more

Rotated and Balanced my tires on my LARGE SUV, an Excursion. And they found and tightened the loose bolt on my anti-sway bar linkage. AND they didn't charge me. The rattle was making me nuts. Thanks guys read more

My coworker got a flat, and had her car taken care of here. Got Mike's info for me, as I needed to replace all 4 of my tires. Right after speaking to him, I ironically got a flat, too. I was "that customer," and came in 10 minutes before close to get the whole deal done and over with. They immediately got my car in, and also got me a really great price. Everything went super quick, and I was treated incredibly well. I'll definitely be returning in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone in need. read more

I really like these guys. Friendly, fair prices, honest. They'll do tons of stuff for free if you buy here too. Nail removal & plug, etc. Absolutely recommend. read more

Horrible service, these people do not care about your situation. I am highly dissatisfied with the service here - they prefer to screw you over than to lend a helping hand. read more

Made online reservation for new tire installation 4 days in advance. They called two days before to confirm. I confirmed. They called the day before to say they never ordered the tires. Terrible service. They didn't care. No apology. Nothing. Too many other choices. read more

I came to this location to patch up my tire that had a leak. These tires only had 10,000 miles on them but I knew there was a nail in the back left tire and a patch would allow me to safely continue to drive my car. I dropped in and they said the wait would be 3 hours which is no problem if it would allow me to safely drive my car again. The front desk person took a look at my tire and promptly refused to patch it and said I would have to get all my tires replaced. I bought new tires in July and only had 10,000 miles on them so I knew he was mistaken. I asked if he could patch it so I could safely drive my car to Fremont to visit the dealership I purchased the car from so they could replace my tires. He refused to patch the tire and said either I replace the tires or they couldn't help me. I promptly left, took it to the Oakland branch and not only did Oakland patch the tire they said I still had about 8,000 miles left on those tires if not more. This place tried to scam me into buying all new tires instead of helping me and I will never come back. read more

Went into to Big O to have my front driver side tire replaced. Cameron was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Wow, these guys are something else. I saw a promotion on their website so i decided to drive over. It was for a simple oil change.. I get to the counter after patiently waiting in line for 10 min only to have the guy tell me he cant give me the promotion that im showing him on my smart phone via their website because i have to go back home and "print out the coupon". Most business allow you to show the coupon on your phone and its valid for use. Its not 1999 and im not going to cut out some coupon in the yellow pages! He mumbled something about a new owner and i just walked right out. I didnt have time to explain to him how ridiculous he was being. read more

Went in for a flat tire... worked close by so was able to leave my car. Decided on getting two new tires as it was needed. A guy named Will helped me and called me an hour later and told me I needed new brakes ... I knew it was time so I agreed. However the time he told me to be back was totally totally wrong. I asked him two times to make sure when I got there it would be ready he told me 4. As I am a chef anytime after 4 is very busy for me. As I walk up I see Will driving away eating sunflower seeds spitting them out the window (classy) and I get greeted by a nice older Asian gentleman with glasses who informed me my car had just been put on the lift and was still gonna be another 1 and a half hours!!! I was extremely upset and waited as I had no choice..: it ended up taking over two hours!!! And the place was almost closing! The Asian gentlemen apologized profusely and I know he genuinely meant it. My car was fine. And work was complete. I think will William Santos should take a hike!!! And not exaggerate on times to give people or do more research and be sure! Because of this douche!!!! I will NOT return to this location. Sorry read more

They were very knowledgeable in what they were doing and I appreciate the kindness and they even gave my children stickers! Awesome! Loved the experience! Bless you all! read more

Looks like this place has a pattern of telling single women with a nail in their tire that, unfortunately, the nail is in an unrepairable spot and wouldn't you know it all four will have to be replaced! On a 2015 Subaru with 25,000 miles. Save yourself time and head down the street to orozco's where they repair your tire for $25 and give you an honest estimate of when your tires will need to be replaced. read more

I had a punctured tire, which normally costs $15 to fix. Big O wanted $45 for that, but it was Sunday, and nobody else was open, so I said OK. Then I get a call saying that it couldn't be repaired, but I could get all 4 tires replaced (and 1 "free"!) I passed on that, but agreed to buy one tire for $140. When I got back to the store, I asked to see the original tire. The puncture was within the legal zone to patch. I asked why they couldn't just do that, and the attendant showed a minute amount of dust inside (which apparently could indicate undue wear on the sidewalls, although no other evidence of that was visible). He admitted it didn't look like a big deal, but claimed he couldn't patch it without his manager's approval - and the manager wasn't in because it was Sunday. So, bottom line, Big O ripped me off for $125. read more

Really, really happy with the excellent service received first by Kent and then by Simon. Kent took my initial order and was really great, then Simon took over, ordered my tires - got them in one day - and set up my appointment. I took my Jeep in and they did all 4 tires in a couple of hours. While they were doing them they checked all the other stuff and gave a good report - except for one cracked and leaking axle part. I wanted it fixed, so Simon got the part ordered and in in 30 minutes. It took a couple of extra hours (no biggie), but now my Jeep is in great shape again. To top off the great customer service, Simon gave me an extra discount! I will go back. read more

I have to say that I moved to the east bay and these people were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it ends there. I bought a 2001 subaru and invested several thousand dollars to fix it up. These people took complete advantage of me, using sub par parts as well as USED! parts and charged me for all new product. As things failed they would would double talk, telling me complete lies!! Tires had holes in them and brakes that barely lasted six months! I took my car to a new mechanic and sure enough they used old parts and charged me for new!! DO NOT GO TO THESE CRIMINALS!!! read more

Overpriced for service and they try to convince you to do stuff that doesn't need to be done - transmission fluid, brake fluid.... When I checked in with my regular mechanic he told me both were less than a year old and were fine. Nice enough people, just feel like it's a rip off read more

My grandson who is a college student had a check engine light come on and the car was sputtering. He called for advice. Not knowing where in Berkeley, CA to take the car, we randomly selected the Big O Tire location on San Pablo Ave. Could have not asked for better service and communication. Herbert and Raymond were absolutely the best! The mechanic diagnosed and fixed the problem at a reasonable price and quickly. Was very impressed that they took the time to shop all their vendors to get us the best price for the part that was needed. I live 100 miles from where my grandson is so I was skeptical to use anyone new to deal with this car. I would absolutely return there for further service. My sincere thanks go to all the staff involved in making this a good experience!! read more

This was by far the worst experience I ever experienced in life. we brought our car in to replace a tire that had to be brought via tow truck at 12 noon. The original rep who helped us was really nice to us but told us it would take 2&1/2 hours to change a tire ( a procedure that takes ten minutes ) but because we were last minute we decided to go do something around the area to kill time so when 3 hours passed and still no phone call from big o tires we decided to give them a call. Some man named Francisco answered the phone and when we asked him much longer he proceeded to tell us it would be another 1&1/2. When we asked if we would be compensated he said we can take our car somewhere else. I was appalled at how rude he was. So we decided to come back at 4 to speak with the store owner. When we arrived, I waited patiently with my 9 month old baby in my arms till I was called next.the same rep who helped us at twelve helped me again and told us that the store owner was on vacation. So I asked for the manager who happened to be the same man who answered the phone earlier. That man was actually helping another customer before he abandoned him to come and talk shit to me and said he was giving me my keys so that I could take my car to a different location and said he had the right to refuse service and that I had tried to hustle him because I asked for a discount. Well yea that's great but you have had my car all day, that ship sailed long ago. He went and told the other reps to pull my car out from the garage because he wasn't allowing any service to it. At this point I decided to tell him that he is wrong this a customer service job which he obviously doesn't have. If it was going to take 4&1/2 hours to change a tire I would have towed it elsewhere. And if he was too busy to take it he should have said that on the phone when we called at 10am. Finally a diff rep changed our tire within ten minutes in front of us( super irritating) and the same rude man yelled from the back that we didn't have to pay. I'm not sure if he was trying to diffuse the situation after it was already too late but the store owner will still be hearing from me. In no way shape or form is that professional and to even be a manager acting like that is truly shocking. He needs to be fired . Everyone else was nice though. read more

Don't even bother with the $50 off coupon. I tried booking an appointment and I called to verify they had my specific tire in stock to make sure it wasn't a wasted trip. I spoke to Kevin and he told me they would need to special order the tires with a $50 deposit due. I said no problem and if he could charge my credit card then I could pay the balance when I came in to get the tires installed. He told me no, that I needed to come in to pay and that was the end of story. I said that doesn't make any sense, that he would verify my card when I came in, and that I would not be driving there on sunday because I was working out of the area so if he couldn't take care of me he would be losing a customer. He said that's fine and hung up. Poor service!!! Don't go to this location. I called Oakland Big O Tires right after and they took my info over the phone, scheduled an appt for tuesday after I get off work and I was very happy with the service I received. After spending 4 hours and close to $600, they put my 2 brand new tires on the front! I thought it was common knowledge that new tires go on the rear!
