Ordered super expensive snow tires for my new 2018 car I just got. Living in the mountains, you need to have the BEST tires possible. After not hearing from them for a week, I called and they couldn't find the order. However, eventually they did find it. I was driving over to Vail and dropped the car off at 9 in the morning to get my tires on. I explained that I would pick the car up on the way back from Vail, around 2 or 3 pm. They said that it wouldn't be ready until 6 pm. WHAT?? I just spent $2200 on tires and you can't get my car done for 9 hours. He explained that he had all these people in front of me, and that's just how it was. Special note, he was the assistant manager and the manager was there also overhearing our conversation. I asked if customers who bought tires from them got any priority, NOPE. So I took my tires and dropped my car and tires off at Alpine tires in Glenwood. What a pleasure...no attitude, no rudeness and happy to have my car done in 30 minutes. Alpine Tire is my new go to and should be yours also. read more

I went into Big O today with tires my wife had purchased for her car last fall from a Denver distributor. Big O told me when I picked up the car that for tires that were not theirs, the charge was $25/tire, versus $15/tire for ones sold by them. Same work. Sleazy read more

Went into Big O Tires for a few simple service requests; change the oil, replace one brake light, and check the life on my battery. Upon initial conversation, I was told that fulfilling those three service requests would take 45 minutes but in actuality it took 1 hour and 45 minutes until my car was "finished." I was relaxed with the extra hour that the service took because it's a Saturday and I'm a patient human so no worries on that front. Then, after paying for all of the aforementioned services I was given my keys and told that the car was "good-to-go" only to be surprised that when I went out to get into it two staff ran out and asked me to start it so that they could "check the brake light." Low and behold they replaced a working brake light (which is obviously unnecessary) and forgot to replace the broken one. The two staff then scrambled to replace the broken brake light in front of the shop when a third employee came out and asked if they could take it back into the garage to finish the light service only to have the realization that when turning the key to start the engine...the battery was dead. Note: In bill #1 these ding dongs charged me $31 to check my battery and then told me that my batteries life was "great," when in actuality they hadn't even checked it. Red flag. So employee #3 then jumped in the car to take it back into the garage and replace the brake light actually check the battery. I was then told by the manager (sidenote: dude probably shouldn't be a manager of a store) that the battery would cost $160 which I was totally fine with because that's the going rate for a battery. Then (cherry on top of this whole junk show situation) I came back in to pay for bill #2 and was told that they had worked on changing my battery for 45 minutes and charged me $115 of labor on top of my battery price which, for the record, was totally inflated as they had installed the battery for only 15 minutes. I then asked the manager to lower the labor cost and after huffing and puffing he decided to drop $30 off of bill #2. At that point I was tired of dealing with incompetence so I decided to just cut my losses, I swore internally that I would never give Big O' Tire a cent of my money, and go home to relax. After all it was a Saturday. Moral of the story: don't take your car to get worked on here. Go somewhere local where service is thorough and honesty is valued. read more

No one wants to be the person that has negative things to say about local business. However, when a business purposely lies and denies actions created by their team, that is just not something I like to let slide by. I have been taking 2 vehicles to Big O for the last 12 yrs. We have never had a any issues. Overall, it seemed the Big O team was funneling some of their best talent to this store as our valley requires a lot of help during the winter. It seems that run of talent has taken a turn for the worst. When I picked up my car after getting the winter tires swapped, the mechanics gloves were left inside the car, the tires were wrapped in dirty plastic which was thrown in my rear seats where all the dirt smudged off. Tire Lube was found on the body of my car in different places and no one even tried to clean it off. Finally, they had improperly jacked the car up on the side, created an indentation where the jack was placed and while the car was in the air, they opened the door. When opening the door and the side molding being pinched by the pressure of the load, the top and bottom panel rubbed which scraped the paint off the bottom of the door and the side molding of the vehicle. I took it to High Tone Auto and they immediately told me how this occurred and documented it. The manager at Big O was not too helpful and was more concerned about pushing back the responsibility onto me. This is just not the kind of business you want to stress over, support, or that our community deserves. *****UPDATE 4.25.19****** While it took some more effort on my end, I did reach out to their regional manager Martin who was very pleasant to work with and made things right. He informed me there was video in each garage and they would request it to look at it further. At the end of it all they helped me resolve this issue and helped me address the damage on the car. Thats all you can ask for. Open and honest conversation with accountability. I increased my one star to a 3. Thanks. read more

Waited over three hours for a flat to be repaired and installed with no communication from anyone. No warnings that it would take a long time. No apologies. I listened to their phone ring and ring and wondered how they stay in business. Other customers were angry as their appointments were not met, their tires were not fixed. I heard horror stories in the waiting room. read more

I've been a customer here a long time. Zach is my go to guy & never let me down. Got my latest studded snow tires for my new Impreza & he steered me to the best deal. read more

They don't answer their phone so we called Glenwood location and they put us on hold for 3.5 min. hung up and had to call back.

If I could give it a 0 I would. Don't believe a thing they say. My daughter who is working in Aspen for the summer, took a flat tire down to have fixed. While there, she was told, you need to have your bearings packed on her 19 year old Honda. Unknownst to her, she believed them and brought it back down today on her day off. She called me after dropping off the car and informed me they told her it needed the one bearing packed and the hub needed to be replaced. We called them and they said oh yes totally needed this done even though she didn't report any problems with the handling and driving. I called the mechanic in New Mexico who in January replaced the front and rear axles, new CV boots, new brakes and rotos and the bearings all around were replaced. He promptly called the "mechanic" who did a second look. I was called by the New Mexico mechanic who then reported that, low and behold, the Big O guy named John, took another look and found that a nut just needed to be tightened. " she had gotten on the bus back up to Aspen, when the New Mexico mechanic called her and told her to go pick her car back up. She got off in Aspen, got back on a down valley bus and picked up her car. Stephanie the "manager" said she was sorry, she didn't understand how that could have happened. The $600 bill would have been an expensive nut. Maybe one of their nuts should be tightened to understand the value of a dollar and to instill some honesty. Make the trip to Carbondale Car Care Texaco for much better service and honesty. read more

I emailed the 006258 store in Basalt, CO to verify their inventory for my 2005 Scion xA. I hadn't heard back that day so I called the next day and spoke with a very nice gentleman who explained my two tire options. Later the same day Dennis did respond to my email and asked that I call the store, which I already had, but I did call to see if making an appointment was adventageous. Dennis again restated the exact same information the other gentleman did with my teontire options, further explaining the process of replacing two tires at a time instead of all four at once. I came to Big O Tire expecting the tire selections and price I had been twice told. Instead I meet Victor, the completely aloof frat boy who couldn't even find the customer service phone number for Big O Tire. Not only did he not know what tires Dennis and the other gentleman were talking about, he quoted me something completely different and told me, "I don't know what to tell you, I'm the only one here now." Oh really? So corporate policy for BOT is to quote people one thing and sticker shock then when they come in the door? Dennis was so nice I was going to go ahead and buy the four more expensive tires. Now I'm replacing just the two and I will never come here again, and wherever I can leave this review you bet I will. read more

Bad customer service. They ordered the wrong tire for my car, and had me drive 60 miles and waste much of a day because of this. They finally got the right tire after 2 weeks. The final cost was more than the customer in front of me who bought 2 tires. Go elsewhere!!!! read more

We had a metal piece in the rear tire and a slow leak while visiting Aspen. Drove to Basalt and the problem was fixed. We appreciated the professionalism and courtesy of everyone at Big O. Thank you Alan and the team. read more

VERY Disappointed with this company! I took my '03 Audi in for a flat tire. Ended up being told I needed 4 new tires, which I agreed to purchase. Later in the day I realized my wheels looked different and I believe my upgraded rims had been SWITCHED OUT for scratched, used rims!! I have no proof that they kept my nicer rims, but I spoke with the manager and employees and let them know I will tell everyone about the incident and tell them to AVOID Big O Tires at all costs!! read more

Picked my car up and when I got in my car and saw that there was grease all over the door handle and seats. I was not happy but I keep wet wipes in the car and I wiped it off but then I noticed it was all over my visor which is made of material now that I cannot get off ! Very annoyed !!! read more

Terrible service at the front desk. The young man who "helped" me just stared at me when I approached the desk. He looked at me with a smirking face and hands in his pockets. Once I initiated a conversation it was mostly short answers, no interest in helping and clearly bored with his job. I appreciate that the place is busy but the lobby was not and I was the only customer at the desk. Additionally, it is clear that Big O in Basalt has all the business they need and do not care if anyone else uses their services. It is unfortunate that this location is convenient to me as I will definitely seek tire service elsewhere. The other reviews on this page reflect my experience and should be considered carefully before you patronize this business. I was warned away from this store by several other people. I should have listened. read more

Had tires rotated at JiffyLube in Arvada yesterday morning. Long story short... 6 hr drive ended up being 9 hrs and included a tow to Basalt at midnight. The lug nuts had not been tightened on the left front. Big O Tires in Basalt got us in first thing this morning and on the road again in an hour. They were accommodating, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend! read more

I was second in line when they opened the doors at 7 am. Previously I asked to schedule an appointment, but they told me that it was "first come, first serve". They said the mount and balance for my tires would take about 45 minutes. I came back after taking an 1.5 hour walk and my vehicle was not even moved from where I parked it. I noticed another car in the garage getting worked on, even though I was 2ND in line. It is definitely not first come first serve! read more

Took my truck in there today to get a leaking tire repaired. They said it couldn't be repaired and that I needed a new tire. Their price was double what I had paid for the tire when new a few months ago so I asked them to just install the spare on my truck's wheel instead of buying a new tire. They told me that they would not install the spare because it was potentially worn differently than the other 3 tires on my truck and it could cause damage to my 4 wheel drive system. I told them that the single new tire they were trying to sell me would also be worn differently and asked them what the difference was... The kid at the couldn't answer why their tire would be any better for my 4 wheel drive system then my spare that is the exact same size. They were trying to scam me in to buying a tire I didn't need. I put the spare on and drove my truck to Carbondale where I had the original tire repaired in 20 minutes for $25. The staff at Big O lied to me and made no attempt to fix my tire, instead they tried to sell me something I didn't need at a very high price. I have 3 cars and two trailers, none will ever be serviced by Big O Tires in Basalt! read more
