They get you in and out fairly quickly, and had no problems doing a repair later on the rim seal no charge!

Took my car in for an oil change. They didn't carry DEF fluids, and suggested I go to a Napa Auto Parts store 10 minutes down the road- which was inconvenient, but not a big deal. Apparently one jug was not enough (would've been nice if the quick lube had confirmed how much was needed for my car), so I had to go back to the auto parts store to buy another jug and fill myself. Which was fine, but again, inconvenient and not very helpful. But here's why Im actually giving a bad review: I took my car in for service prior to getting on the road and driving cross country. My car computer kept notifying me that I was, "critically low on oil" and to "add oil immediately." My assumption was that the Quick Lube just didn't reset the computer, so I called to get validation from Paul- who was incredibly unhelpful (the theme of this review). He told me he,"recommends I stop driving immediately and add oil." At this point, I'm 4+ hours outside of Basalt in the middle of nowhere- so as I said- not helpful. Thanks for the rec, Paul! Fortunately, I was able to stop in Alamosa before 5pm at the Valvoline Express Care. They confirmed it was low and added oil, at no charge, and reset my computer. (5 star review for these guys) I do many long distance drives and safety is obviously top priority. This could've been more of a disaster rather than an inconvenience. I do not recommend using this quick lube. (I'm giving the two stars because they gave my dog a bone, which he enjoyed thoroughly. Haha) read more

I was on my oil changed and tires switched episode tire. Local in friendly. Last week had a slow leak in a tire they repaired it no charge.

When it comes to the best auto service you can get in Basalt, Basalt Auto Quick Lube tops the surrounding competitors. I first brought my car in, after hearing squeaking sounds coming from the front brakes, assuming that they needed to be replaced. Service was spot on from the beginning as they first did an inspection of the brakes, instead of just replacing them, and came to the conclusion that they were still fine and did a quick cleaning of the brakes from the snow buildup. I inquired how much was the charge and they kindly said that there was no charge. So when it came to having my oil changed, first place came to mind was Basalt Quick Lube. I brought the car in for service and also had the air filter part with me and asked them to change that, as well as I didn't have the time. They told me that it was going to be about 45 minutes but I ended up getting a call in less than 30 minutes to pick up the car. Awesome speedy service at this place with great customer service. This was confirmed as I overheard the praise of another customer as they were picking up their car, as well. read more

Used these guys for years. decent service and mostly friendly. I went away for 2 years and now they have almost doubled their prices with no additional service rendered. If you think $103 for an oil change on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler is a fair price then you have found the right place. Personally, I'll be going elsewhere for an oil change from now on. read more

Susan and her team are amazing! On two occasions when my truck broke down they took care of me and had the repairs done on the same day, both times at less than I was originally quoted! I needed to get my car ready for a cross-country drive. I was greeted warmly and efficiently. The car was returned in excellent condition..the ride much smoother. Check out was speedy and very cordial and at a fair price. I watched the owner interacting with his regular customers (I was from out of state). He clearly knew them well and was so connected and invested in their safety and the condition of their vehicles yet finding a way to manage their cost concerns to achieve an effective repair or maintenance plan. Clearly they are a trusted and trustworthy business. This is a really impressive community oriented company. I will always take my cars there when in town. Seem like really nice people all around - but be sure and ask about EVERY detail first. They claim to use Valvoline oil. But I noticed after leaving that there's some off-brand (sub-$2, apparently) oil filter from "Mighty." No good search results for that. Leaves me with questions as to the oil actually used, frankly. And so north of $100 later, I will be looking to have my vehicle serviced again pretty soon to be confident all is well. Oh, and afterwards they left it parked across the street with the windows down and the keys in it. I realize this is a safe, generally crime-free community. But I had stuff in there I didn't expect to be left wide open like that. Pretty seriously not cool. So if you go, ask lots of questions - and seriously consider staying onsite the entire time. read more

I love these guys! I work for a local nonprofit who uses them and they have been such heroes! They do the job well and for a reasonable price. They often are able to get you in at the last minute for urgent projects. I frequent them for oil changes and minor repairs for my Prius. The nonprofit I work for use them to maintain their 15-passenger vans. No problem in the past few years. read more

I thought this was a good place to get work done to my car BUT, after taking my car in for an oil change..... I was surprised to see a huge dent in my passenger side door which didn't allow the door to open and or my stereo speaker to work. (Funny because they both worked perfectly prior to my oil change) the OWNER said it didn't happen there (WOW!!!) and tried to tell me it was like that before I got there! (I couldn't believe he said that!) This place is the WORST!!! possible place to get anything done to you're car unless you want to get ripped off and a dent in your car at the same time. This review is long over due...I have had over a dozen services provided by this shop and every time I walk in the door PAUL greets me with a big smile and takes care of me asap. As a female it is comforting knowing I can walk into Basalt Quick Lube & Tire and know I'm not being over-charged or convinced of services that are not needed. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the turn around time is as good as it gets. I've been debating writing this review, because sometimes accidents happen and/or miscommunication. And apparently it did this time. When I left my keys and asked the gentlemen who greeted me to stud my tires, mount and balance them (who Is the same person I spoke with the day before on what services I would like performed) something went amiss. I returned nearly 4 hours later, the vehicle was 'finished' but the tires were not studded. I confronted the owner - Paul and he asked his employee what happened. The employees apparently told him I did not want them studded or said nothing about studding them. Taking his side, the owner now seemed to be raising his voice and making me feel as if it was my fault for this event even taking place. In retrospect I guess it was, since I choose them to work on my car. However, they could easily have called me to verify if I wanted them studded since they were brand new 'studdable' tires. I kept my mouth shut paid the over the top 110$ for mounting and balance and got the hell out of dodge. Later the owner called back to apologize and said if there's anything in the future to make it right give us a chance. Well, forget it. In my mind you had a chance to 'make it right' the first time. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Its a damn shame that Paul, one of the owners of this place, is so rude and arrogant that we will never do business here again. Dave the other owner is a genuine, reliable and really nice guy, unfortunately he never seems to be be there. We called ahead and were told to drop off our car for a next day winter tire change at 530pm. Upon arriving we were accosted while exiting the vehicle like trespassers (shop was open and employees were working hard) and interrogated about our intentions. We explained that we were there to drop off our car, per previous instructions and Paul was so nasty and rude to my girlfriend that she had to ask him to stop yelling at her. BIG O TIRE is right next door, has excellent customer service, and thats who we gave our business to. So much for helping out local small business. We decided to give this place another chance in spite of the fact that this guy has been rude to us and others before because Big O was super busy and couldn't get us in at the time, but we will NEVER do it again.
