We also asked them not to trim a tree only to find it trimmed upon our return. We notified them of the sprinkler issue in writing as well and they broke another one. When I phoned in to ask them to be more careful, they let me know that the sprinklers were installed too high. I can't change my sprinkler system so I asked if they could be more careful and the response I got was "you can hire someone else." Such a sad response in customer service as I was willing to work with them and just asked for them to be mindful. They just wanted to come in slam the job out and move on. I would not recommend this company at this time.

However, when it came time to discuss details and get the projects in writing he was not willing to put them to paper and guarantee much at all. This was disappointing, but it's partly my fault for not seeing the yellow flags early. I asked for his standard agreement a couple of times after we chose him several months ago. I explained I wanted to review the language but he wouldn't send it to me. I should have jumped ship then! Be careful if you have work that you'd like guaranteed, like a retaining wall. This company will not stand behind their work.

Sauz Landscaping - New Mulch looks good!

He consistently did what he said he was going to do. We had a problem with our watering system and I was worried it'd be difficult to diagnose much less fix. Reynaldo's team fixed it in literally 5 minutes. They were fast and also fairly knowledgeable about plants. The job was fixing the watering system, removing plants, weeding and planting a ton of new plants and adding bark/mulch. When it came time to get new plants, he connected me with an awesome plant expert Joel at a nursery in Kent. I was really impressed they swept up the sidewalk and putting green so that EVERYTHING looked better than before they came. We have a very low-maintenance yard but I will be using Reynaldo and his team for ongoing maintenance and winterizing. On top of all this, it was my birthday during the job and they brought me a beautiful bouquet. Above and beyond. Definitely meet with these guys.

He never communicated to us that he wanted payment in cash so on a Friday at 4:45 we had to hustle to the bank to get cash. This could have easily been communicated when he came to bid on the job, and this past minute request resulted in us being late to a dinner reservation and mariners game. 2. When my husband handed him cash he asked " no tip?" No tipping not for the quality of work but not communicating a simple request and it altering our evening. 3. He asked which plants we wanted this morning and when my husband gave him the list he said they didn't have time anymore which was something he agreed to do! We have more work that needs to be done, but we'd like our time respected. And will hire another landscaper.

I am very, very happy with the new patio Jose and team installed. They are an excellent company to…read morework with for the following reasons: QUALITY - paver layout is beautiful, & they installed extra gravel & drainage pipes to address my "swamp" COMMUNICATION - I always knew exactly what was happening, when the workers/trucks would be here. Before work began, Jose responded promptly to my requests for changes in design, gave detailed drawings &estimates PRICE - it was a very fair price, and lower than the other bid I got for a simple rectangular design DESIGN - my requirements were a bigger patio that covers up the swamp. Jose came up with a plan that has curves to fit in well with the curves in my existing landscape, plus the swamp is gone! He gave me advice on which sizes of pavers would work well in the design. PROFESSIONALISM - every day the team was on time and left the area cleaned up. They laid and re-laid pavers until they were satisfied with the look. They spent a lot of time leveling and fixing places where water pooled on my lawn/old patio. They improved the downspout drains and crawlspace vents. Call them for your project, you'll be glad you did!

After 2 years living in our Issaquah rambler, we were tired of our grubby back yard. With a very…read moresloping hillside slumping into it, the constant roll of rocks, and puddling of runoff made the space not very enjoyable. Our small deck, and a big dirt patch was also not a clean or functional space for us or our dog - so it was time for a change. Once we set our minds to investing in a renovation, I met with 7 (yes 7!) concrete, rockery, and paver providers to discuss the projected heat their ideas, and solicit quotes. A number of the providers were visionless, one was rude, and another was wildly expensive (twice as much as any of the others). Enter Jose and J Zamora Construction. While my initial vision for the space was admittedly to have a concrete patio, with a paver retaining wall - after meeting with Jose, my mind changed. In the most genuine and non-pressuring tone possible, he educated me about the benefits of using pavers (repairability, less cracking risk, better drainage, etc). That, combined with both his understanding of the challenges of my property, as well as his unique lense on a design for our space - made Jose a stand out. I also greatly appreciated that when I expressed specific wishes, he did not take offense when those ideas didn't align with his initial recommendation. When some providers acted put-off when I said "I don't want to take out this tree" (etc.), Jose took it in stride and offered solutions rather than trying to convince me that my preference was unreasonable. After viewing our property, he was prompt, kind, and fair in his quote to us. His documentation was thorough and clear. That, along with his truly aesthetically, and functionally minded vision for our space convinced me to completely pivot from "I'm doing concrete", to "let's go with pavers". After hiring Jose, he recommended products that suited our combined vision for my yard, was transparent about potential overages, and ultimately executed a project that is beyond my dreams for our difficult space. His crew of 6 busted their behinds for 4 solid days to crack it out. They were prompt, respectful of my property and neighbors; and thorough in their daily, and end of project cleanup. They even went above and beyond to carefully re-lay our dog's invisible fence line, which was displaced in the underground drainage portion of our project. Ultimately, we're left with the addition of nearly 1000 square feet to our livable space. An area that started as a grubby dirt patch has become a clean and stunning use of space. It flows with the natural landscape, and looks cohesive with our very mid century home. We have had neighbors (known to us and new introductions) stop by with their jaws on the floor - one even saying "you've made this yard the showpiece of the mountain". Once we paint the house - our sweet little rambler will be perfection - and we have Jose to thank for so much of our exterior transformation. Other over the top service notes: -Rock disposal recycling run -Bark delivery after project completion -Spreading bark over worn front yard after completion

Sol Landscaping was one of the companies who responded to my Yelp request for a big one-time cleanup and also a contract for once a month maintenance. Marisol and one of her workers showed up for the estimate and although there was a bit of a language issue, she seemed honest and sincere. She saw what needed to be done and gave me an estimate of about $3000. I thought the price was fair and hired them to do the spring cleanup. The maintenance price she quoted was $300 per visit. Before cleanup day, I marked with fluorescent paint the weedy areas and shrubs that need to be pruned out to make things easier, so there would be no mistakes (none of the workers spoke English, although I think they could understand it). The cleanup itself went very smoothly and they left the properties spotless. However, getting them to come out for a maintenance visit went the opposite way. Marisol wouldn't commit, and I called and texted several times to make an appointment. Finally she said they could fit me in the next day and I said okay. But no one showed up. When I called again, she said someone had gotten sick so they'd try again in a couple days. Again, a no-show. I finally gave up. It was apparent they were just happy to do the one big job and move on. I wanted to give two stars TBH for the frustration. But they did do the one big cleanup well. Unfortunately I am still on the hunt for a skilled landscaping maintenance company.
