Went to lunch at this location and was very disappointed by the service. My order was delivered to the wrong table, and since the server read out my name I lifted my hand to let her know where I was. She looked at me and took my sandwich back in, which I was thankful for because I did not want a sandwich that was handled by another customer. Well I got the same sandwich back and it was cold. My friends burger and fries were also cold, like there was just lying on the counter for some time. I used to frequent their sister restaurant Eden Hill Provisions and I got better service during lock down than I did today. TLDR: Great burgers and fries with delicious drinks! My friend and I decided to stop by for lunch, as we have never been here before but have seen it around. The restaurant is very cute and modern. We ordered on the iPad but you can order from a person as well. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 small combos (includes a small fries and drink of choice). I upgraded my drink to a Strawberry Shortcake shake. The total came to about $39 (before tip). The burgers were delicious. My friend and I got a Big Max Burger and the Thomas burger, both were a generous sized portion.The burgers were seasoned well and the sauce was delicious as well. The fries were the star of the show! The fries were shoestring and seemed to be dusted with an herbed salt. If I wasn't so full, I would've devoured all of the fries. One of the workers overheard us talking about how we were curious about the mango lemonade and gave us both a small sample, DELICIOUS btw. And so so nice of the worker haha! The shake was also delicious, it had small crumbles of shortcake. And I saw workers moving Tilamook ice cream so I assume all the shakes are made with quality ice cream. I usually cook burgers at home, but had a craving, unusual for me, for a burger at lunch. Big Max Burger is close by and had good reviews, so... I did like the Thomas burger just the way it came, but my preference would be to have just mustard on it, which isn't an option here, except for honey mustard. The fries were very crisp to start, but so salty I actually limited how many I ate - unheard of! And the seasoning wasn't my favorite. We took my mom to her old neighborhood where she grew up on Queen Anne & wanted to find a fun place to have lunch on a patio there since we had our puppy & upper Queen Anne is so dog friendly . We started with unsweetened ice teas & a frozen lemonade which they brought out for us right away. The tea was fresh brewed & really good & my husband's frozen lemonade was delicious. My husband & I decided to both get the Queen Animal burger, my mom got the Hot Mama Hen & we got a small order of fries & brussel sprouts to share. My husband & I loved our burgers, perfectly cooked beef Patty, thick smoky bacon, fried onions, avocado, pickles & their Max sauce on a delicious challah bun- so tasty & juicy! My mom really liked her chicken burger- a nice chunk of crispy fried chicken with lettuce, pickles, red pepper chili sauce on a challah bun. The fries were thin and crispy, herb salted with their Max sauce & homemade ketchup- so flavorful I was happy eating them without sauce & plenty for all of us to share. The brussel sprouts were also a generous portion & were coconut caramel kettle corn flavor- luckily we were so full from our burgers & fries that we each had a bite & honestly were happy because they weren't good at all. Don't come here if you're vegan: zero options. Vegetarian wise, the falafel burger is okay, if a bit second class compared to meat'ed selections. Big Max used to have a rather and unique and tasty celery root pastrami sandwich. This has been removed, I assume, as part of streamlining the menu. came in and the interior was very cute as it was pink and the staff was friendly, seems like a great place to eat in bigger groups especially when it's warmer out. i ordered the big max burger as that was their signature along with their fries and max sauce. i was rather disappointed as i had very high hopes of the fries since they're green from the herb salt but tasted nothing while the max sauce was a weird rendition of mustardy thousand island sauce. the burger was very mediocre at best and couldn't really differentiate all of the components within the burger as it all muddled together. i sadly wouldn't recommend this place due to its mediocrity and higher price tag but i do enjoy the alternative options they have such as gluten free buns and veggie patties. read more

Let it be known that the Big Max burger is a total flavor bomb! I got the Thomas Burger which is a 1/4lb patty and my partner got the Big Max which is 1/2lb patty. The flavors of the burger are bold and very contrasting. You can definitely taste the quality of the beef; the cook of the meat had a nice amount of pink! I like that you can sub the beef patty for impossible meat ($4/patty). We shared a large fry and a strawberry shake and that kept us so full for the next few hours. The fries come with a side sauce of your choice but they honestly didn't need it at all. They're very well coated in an herb mix which tasted a lot like sour cream and onion. The ketchup has malt added so it had a tangier and brighter taste than your typical Heinz. I could tell the Max sauce had mustard mixed in though I've only had a Big Mac once in my life so I'm not sure how the two compare. They have a frose machine which is a big plus! Also very curious about their fried chicken sandwich so expect this review to be updated when we go back! read more

Welcome to the neighborhood! Had the Big Max burger and it was amazing! Still pink inside, juicy and delicious, it got all over my hands and face, normally I don't want to get messy while eating but this burger was way over the top and worth it! The chicken nuggets are also amazing, the breading is similar to crunchy beer battered onion rings. Forgot to take a photo of the burger because I dove right in. Fried chicken sandwich is one of the best I've had, hands down. Fries are also good and I loved the chocolate shake. However, this place has some weird proportions on their menu which is why it's one of the worst burgers I've ever had. I don't get why it's cracker thin? When I crave a burger I like it thick and juicy. The lettuce was thicker than the meat on my bun and the burger was so thin I choked on how dry it was. I was tempted to give a 2-star, but I didn't order enough to warrant a full review. This isn't any comment on the staff, who I had very little interaction with since you you order from a kiosk at the front. The interface itself wasn't great, and the only option I could find for a burger without bacon was the build your own. It's a 1/4 lb burger that comes with either a lettuce wrap or challah bun for about $8. This truly is build your own, because everything you add comes with a price. If I remember correctly, whatever "extras" you want -- pickles, lettuce, ketchup -- they are each $.50 extra. I ordered a burger with bun and pickles, and a 5 oz glass (plastic cup) of proseco for $10. All told, the bill came to $20.40 (I think there was a small additional charge for eating in). For comparison (even though I don't eat there), a Big Mac from McD's is only about $4...with cheese and all the trimmings. Granted, I know this is Queen Anne, but really. We sat in a space that's no better than a fast food place - generic music, plastic benches. The food came in a timely manner, but it's nothing to get excited about. The burger (pre-formed patty) was dry and about 1/2" thick if that. Meat and pickles were relatively tasteless (maybe that's why the bacon burgers get a better review). The bun may have be been put on the grill with a bit of oil or butter and was okay. The proseco actually tasted good, but geez. I know liquor is expensive these days, but I can buy a comparable whole bottle for about $10. And typically, you at least get atmosphere for that much. Should have known better. So all told, I'd rather hit up other places in upper Queen Anne, or, if I really want fast food, there are lots of other, better, cheaper options. I could even buy some packaged, prepared thing from Trader Joe's across the street. read more

I've been pelted with ads on the internet for Big Max. So I tried 'em. Dick's has nothin' to worry about (neither does Mickey D's, Jack In the Box or Wendy's). The Thomas burger was okay, certainly not outstanding...but expensive for what you get. The fries are crap. The chocolate shake ... my initial thought was "well that's kinda small!" A perfect 5 star burger restaurant. From everything to Brussels sprouts to chicken nuggets, this restaurant has everything you could possibly want and more. Everything the restaurant makes is from scratch so while it can be a little pricy, it's due to the high quality of ingredients that each menu item has. By controlling all parts of burger production in house, the staff are able to accommodate for any allergy or preference so no customer is excluded. On top of the excellent food, the hard work and due diligence of the servers can't go unmentioned as they go above and beyond every time, especially the blonde with curly hair. My husband wanted a great burger for his birthday dinner. Big Max had a wonderful write up. What a disappointment!! 1. You have to use a computer to order. 2. They ask for a tip (starting at 20% ) before you have even received your order, so how can you judge what to to give based on what the service was like?? 3. $45 ( before said tip!) for two burgers, 2 lg fries and 2 "large" Cokes. I say "" large" because the cup was full of ice with about 4oz of actual drink. 5. They brag a delicious burger of beef and bacon, but all you can taste is sauce! The best part of the burger was the edges where there was no sauce. 6. I'm assuming it's celery salt on the fries? My tongue was burning from soooo much salt! When a fellow Comrade Dylan had told me Big Max Burger CO. Was '"The best burger in Seattle"' naturally I was skeptical. The fact of the matter is I've had a lot of burgers, a lot of which have been in Seattle. Interior decorating very refined Under the Bauhaus school of architecture I presume. You get the picture simple yet splashes of flavor here and there. Edison light bulbs lots of whites some Grey's some pinks here and there various textures seen in different wall paneling. So I order via electronic kiosk it's simple enough. I end up ordering the Big Max Burger, it came in about 10 mins... not bad. I'm confronted with a little white box with what I describe as a very proportional looking burger tucked that is revealed as I open it. Ah yes, finally I'm eye to eye with the Big Max burger, I pick it up I can tell it's gunna be juicy I sink my teeth in. Texture wise, there is a bit of a crunch with a soft interior hidden that just melts away with every bite. I can taste the bacon bits that have been blended within the Pattie's, what a glorious burger yet refined with balance. There is no doubt this is not a humble burger, but more of a show burger with some with some finesse some swagger. But then I was confronted by maybe the most arrogant employee I've ever met his name is Dylan he's a total debag he kept asking me how my burger was. Like hello, the nerve!? I'm trying to enjoy the burger jeez. Anyways I digress the point is Dylan (no relation to my friend Dylan) is the worst employee I've ever encountered at a service restaurant I cannot believe he is still employed at Big Max Burger Co. If I was Mr.Big Max and I was serious about making burgers I would really reconsider the employment of Dylan the tall blonde.
