Horrible customer service, manager has no coustomer service training and it shows. I had a online pick up and the discounts weren't added so I went to store to get that back after taking to customer service on the phone wasn't any better. This is the second time I've had issues with online order and them having to refund me. Avoid this store aswell. read more

I was wanting to buy a console fireplace that was on sale for 199.00 and so when I asked the guy if they had any new ones in a box and he said "oh I have a few in the back" so he goes to the back and I'm waiting on him to come back and bring me the item so I'm waiting 15 minutes pass and he comes back out and doesn't say anything to me so I go up to him and asked him about my console and he says "oh oh I don't have one "so I told him well can I buy the display one as which you can buy it and get more discount for the item being damage. So he says " I can't sale you that one because it's new but I have this one from last years and had a few things wrong with it so I asked him I'll take it if you discount more for the damage on it and he said no because it was on sale already but the item new was on sale. but he wanted to give me a discount from reg price of 459.00 and not from the sales price.. he just didn't want to sale to me and was rude I went to another store and explain to the lady about what happened at the other store and she was surprise and told me that he was doing wrong. In the pass 4 days I have spent a good amount of money there getting things for my new home from there to be treated like that. I which I had gotten his name I was already mad that I forgot to ask.. he is over pricing and being lying about what he can sale or not. Well i don't come here often i was very surprised as to how many good stuff and prices they have in here. It was a clean store organized and i was asked if i needed help. Big Lots - Perfect quick and cute gifts - Department Stores Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I love Big Lots so I'm glad there is one near where I live. This Big Lots is conveniently near a dollar tree and H-E-B, more places I love. They have expanded their home decor and furniture section which I am here for. The interior of the store is clean, well organized and the employees there are helpful. Their home decor/ organizational storage items are pricey but overall they have good deals. I got a desk that came with shelves from here and I love how it looks when assembled. They have a great selection for school supplies and snacks as well. Big Lots is a one stop shop which I love. read more

I have to agree with other reviews of this store- Amazing customer service, great deals and great selection. The staff was exceptional and saved me big money. One employee Mark was extra courteous and helpful with verifying on hands for some furniture. I must add that Mark was "Happy" to be there and it showed. I hope that management takes a second to acknowledge him for his exceptional customer service skills. The store was full, clean and well organized. They were preparing for a sale and invited me back for additional savings the next day. I took them up on the offer and came back for more purchases the following day. The store manager here is completely rude. He has no general customer service skills and does not know the meaning of common courtesy. My husband purchased a Xmas tree from this store two weeks ago after having surgery on his arm from an injury sustained during his enlistment. He is a veteran. The tree was 140.00. He paid cash and that was that. We had not had the opportunity to put it up since we just purchased a home and have been busy unpacking. The receipt was misplaced. We went into the store yesterday for some other items and saw the same tree marked down to 105.00 so we spoke to an employee there and he said that we could either bring the receipt back and get the discounted price or bring the tree and they could scan it, return it and give us store credit for our 140.00 and we could then repurchase at the sale price. Sounds simple. My husband went back in today, carrying in the tree with our youngest daughter and the store manager refused to honor it. Even though we provided the employees name that told us we could do so. He said he didn't know if we had really paid 140.00.Why would he have taken the tree all the way back, in a cast in if he had purchased it for 105 and then rebuy it the again for 105? Honestly even if they guy was half decent or courteous and didn't continuously get loud in front of our daughter while I was on the phone with my husband this would've been one thing.. but he wasnt. He just kept rudely saying I can't help you and walked away. When we asked for a higher employees contact information he refused. He said he would send an email but could not give us any information. No one to voice our issue to? That's strange considering they are viewed on customer service and product so you would would think they would have a department to hear their customers concerns. This guy didn't even care to be courteous about it.. he couldn't even say I apologize for the confusion but I can not do the exhancge.. nothing like that. He just kept raising his voice and being so rude. I don't understand why they couldn't just scan the tree that was still in the box and see when it was purchased as most retailers keep track of their inventory thru scanning. He didn't even try. He didn't care. Raul Rodriguez, their General Manager was a complete jerk. We usually shop their once a week but honestly, that guy was such an ass I'm done with that store.
