This location has really improved from the last couple of years. The store is kept clean and stocked pretty well. Lots of assorted merchandise available. I recently revisited the store on 9/23/24 and 9/24/24. They had the Friends and Family 20% discount off your entire purchase. I signed up for the rewards which provided me with an additional 15% off on my next purchase. I was informed that I can stack the two discounts. My next purchase was on 9/24/23. I purchased quite a bit of merchandise to take great advantage of the 35% discount which was a steal! One of the nicest Big Lots locations I've ever been inside with big energy to match. The layout is super easy with regular sized isles and usually pretty full shelves. The Big Lots store of Puyallup is located in a very large shopping center next door to stores such as Total Wine, Pet Smart and across for the staple Walmart in the area. There is almost never a shortage of parking as this shared lot covers close to a football field stadium in size. They have great furniture on display though not the most comfortable (very firm), adorable patio and home decor, household items, food, snacks and tons more. Lois in front was extremely personable and helpful. She was a very thorough and attentive sales clerk and rang both my best friend and I up. She told us about the rewards program, which I forgot I had and even was able to save some money, which I'm grateful for... Everyone's got a rewards program so just sign up... It's free and easy. The one thing I both love and hate about Big Lots is that you never know what you're going to find. Since their stock is ever changing it's worth it to take the time to walk through the store to see what's there on that particular day because you never know when you might find a gem! Basically a small department store with several different sections - food, kitchen, electronics, holiday, pets, home décor, furniture, etc. This particular Big Lots feels like it's mostly furniture with it taking up the entire middle section of the store. The store was pretty clean when I was there, no items thrown on the floor, the shelves that actually had items on the were neat enough. Pretty sure the employee at the cash register hated their life, but they scanned everything super efficiently so it's all good on my end! read more

Deb and Sterling were a huge help today. Both of them were swamped with customers in the furniture section. I've actually never seen Big Lots so busy, but it was their friends and family sale so it makes sense. Nevertheless they were working their tails off! I had no problem being patient until it was my turn as I was planning to purchase a sectional. Deb was quick to ensure the items were in stock and Sterling called another store to help me get the matching ottoman that this location was out of. The Lakewood location was able to hold it for me until I could get there in an hour or so. Deb rang me up and Sterling loaded and helped me secure the load. They were smiling and humorous through the crazy rush this evening and I'm so grateful for their friendly demeanor. I will return again for sure! read more

Value not great prices not great. Store is messy. Don't go with a coupon because they always claim it has already been used.

I lile this place, its my go to instead of walmart or target specially to get little presents for people. They always have a different variety of products, and the price is mostly great. There is food, fridge products, furniture, household goods, jewerly (cheap), house shoes, toys and decor for whatever the season is. A lot of the decor stuff is things you could find no where else. The staff is always super friendly. They only have 2 cashiers checking out , so sometimes the line could get a little long. read more

WORST STORE EVER, SHOPPING HERE COULD RUIN YOUR LIFE!! NOT EXAGGERATING!!! My disabled mother in law was in town this week, so I decided upon taking her out for a girls day to shop and get some food. She rarely comes up, and this past year she has been suffering through the worst case of thyroid cancer her doctors have ever seen. They do not believe she has much time left, and I wished deeply to make her time up here enjoyable. My partner (her child) was at work all day so I thought it would be nice for us two to bond. After being followed around Walgreens as if we were stealing, and having a manager there rudely make snide remarks about her, she was ready to go home, while I was determined to make the day better. She is extremely underweight and because of this she is wrongly accused of drug use often, and treated horribly at a lot of stores. But this time she hadn't left the car yet. We were at the big lots parking lot Thursday night, maybe thirty minutes before closing. We sat talking and smoking a cigarette before we went in, and started to discuss the young man who was coming out to grab carts and bring them in. He was only grabbing 3 or 4 at a time and then running back in, even though there was maybe 30 carts. Being as we are both in management at other locations/companies, we figured the teenager was being lazy. Even though he was staring at us creepily. I finished my cigarette and decided to go in since she had gotten a phone call and said she would meet me in there. As I'm shopping and grabbing items I walk along the long back wall where the appliances are instead of the front area, because I like looking at the different appliances and vacuums. No employee had walked by me or said anything to me so I didn't assume anything was wrong. All the sudden I hear someone on the phone near the furniture section. With the cops. The caller was reporting a suspicious car that she said she assumed may be containing very dangerous passengers, and then described our car to the T including the fact my MIL had a dealership license plate as she'd purchased it the day before. Obviously, I slammed my items down and left. Along with my MILs cancer she has a severe heart condition, knowing that police pulling up, possibly with guns drawn since they were told the passengers were violent, and being interrogated by them on the side of the store in public, may send her into another heart attack. She was walking in as I was walking out so I told her we needed to leave and she followed. Once in the car, I told her the situation and she broke down sobbing. Asking me why people always have to judge her constantly for the way she looks, why the disease had to make her so ugly and unapproachable, even scary. The thing is I don't even know if they saw her or the way she looks, her windows are tinted. I don't know if it was the cart boy making up a story or the manager thought we were someone else but I am disgusted. She called the police on us for sitting in the lot for less than fifteen minutes. I want to vomit. Will never be coming here again. read more

They always seem to have different stuff whenever you come here, so that makes it fun coming here, however the minus is if you find a product you like you will most likely have to find another store to get it. Other then that, the prices and service here seem good so have no issues coming here. read more

Big Lots - Department Stores Near Me - Puyallup, Washington

Just happened to be driving by and noticed they had some couches for sale. I'd been in the market for new ones, so I figured I'd stop in and see what they had to offer. Unlike most of my decisions, this one turned out to be a great one. I got a wonderful deal on a new couch and love seat. Both couches are micro fiber and "overstuffed." The bigger of the two is over 7' long. I was worried they would be some knock off brand that I'd never heard of when I saw the price for the pair, but they were Simmons, so my fear quickly subsided. I don't live in the area, so I'm not sure if/when I'd be back, but if you do live close, there are some good bargains to be had. read more

I bought a chair here over the weekend. It was delivered on Sunday and when we went to put it together there were pieces missing I called and spoke to Todd the manager and he went to another store picked up a new chair and brought it to my house at 6 pm on a Sunday night. I moved from Olympia to Puyallup and was relieved that there was a Big Lots out here. Well...the store may be bigger but the shelves seem empty 50% of the time. The employees all seem to hate their job and are not very friendly by any means. If you ask them a question it's like you are inconveniencing them or wasting their time. I have seen several employees playing on their phones instead of being attentive to things around them. I watched some kids actually shoplift a bunch of candy while there was a cashier right there but she was so busy on her phone texting or facebooking she didn't even see them do it and walk out right in front of her!!! There are some good deals to be had, but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want service with a smile...wait service at all. read more

Purchased a sectional from them a couple of weeks ago and asked about delivery. The sales rep asked where I live and told him on South Hill in Puyallup. he said delivery is $50. I scheduled delivery for Tuesday, November 12. They use a third party delivery company. The delivery company called and left me a message last night and said because I was out of their local delivery area, the delivery charge will be $75. I called them back and left a message told them to give me call back. I received a call from them this morning, they told me that my sectional is scheduled to be delivered between 1 and 4 PM today and it will be $75. I told them the store told me it was only $50. They contacted the store and the assistant store manager called me and explained to me that I am outside the local delivery area so the charge for delivery is $75. I told him that the sales rep told me $50. Anyway, the assistant manager made good on the $50 delivery fee. I am happy that they honored the price they quoted me. If I didn't have to deal with the delivery company I would've given them 5 stars. Oh and their prices can't be beat. I got a faux leather sectional for $599! read more
