Monday, 11-11-2024: I was looking for Thanksgiving decorations in this location since our Temecula Big Lots store was permanently closed. This store is a disappointment. It's dirty, disorganized, messy, and depressing. Although I did find some good bargains, this place is a poor, lower grade version of the store in Temecula. The photos speak for themselves. The Temecula store was clean, bright, and organized. The displays of items for sale were nicely configured. I don't understand why the Temecula store was closed down. Anyhow, check out was fast & friendly so no complaints there. It would be nice to see the store clean & organized. read more

I've been furniture shopping for a few days. The Temecula location didn't have anything. I've looked at Living Spaces, Bob's, and a few others. I came here after work and Jordan helped me. Jordan was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Jordan went above and beyond with customer service by checking the stock of an item. Dealing with Jordan was refreshing. I left big lots went to Ashley's and returned to big lots. The guys at Ashley's were idiots and it's ridiculous it took me 20 minutes to check out there for an $8 pillow. I'm thankful for workers like Jordan and I hope Big Lots values him and pays him accordingly. Thanks for the wonderful shopping experience! read more

Not sure why they have curb side pick up. Called as the sign stated because I received my email indicating that my order was ready. For starters, the phone rang for a long time before someone answered. Then, when someone picked up I was placed on hold (after giving my name) however I could still hear what was going on on the background. Eventually someone just hung up the phone. I got out of the car, damn near fell as I walked in the store (not by any fault of Big Lots but my shoes). Someone was in the process of coming out with my order. I grabbed my order and walked out. Went in to check up on a mattress I had tried the night before. The person running that part of the store was Matt. He was funny, helpful, and genuine. He informed us that they were out of that particular size mattress and was able to figure things out for us. Needless to say we left extremely happy. He had another person back there, Ruben, helping us with our purchase that assisted in making our experience extremely pleasant. Kudos to both of you for your kind hearts. This place is a hit or miss. Yes, they have a huge variety or items to offer including large furniture and home decor, sometimes the prices are questionable. This location IMHO has always been a little disorganized and messy throughout the store so most times it's hard to find what you're looking for. I come in usually around the holidays to see what I can score for a decent price. I've bought a bunch of home decor pieces here including a framed canvas which I thought was a good deal. I normally do not review stores, but I had to review this store since they had such amazing customer service! I came in to look for some home decor, and anytime I walked by one of their staff I was greeted. I had some questions on pricing, and the young lady at furniture was friendly and quick to help. At check out, the gentlemen greeted me with his name and asked how my day is going. I don't typically get asked that from a cashier, and that little bit of effort showed them really wanting to provide above and beyond customer service. The gentlemen was also well mannered and at the end thanked me for having shopped there. I have been coming on and off for many many years to this store, and have never received such great customer service. This kind of service is clearly taught from the top, down to each of their employees, and you can see how well they are doing in comparison to before. I left with a very pleasant experience, and will definitely be coming more often. read more

I came in today for a return, when some nail polish I had purchased didn't work for what I needed it for. I apologized and was kind the entire transaction, because I know the annoyance of having to deal with returns, but through the entire interaction the woman helping me (an older woman, though I forget her name) was making comments of exasperation and frustration. Even though I was a little put off, I continued looking around after my return intending to buy other things I needed. During this, the woman who had "helped" me with my return was loudly complaining about the it to a coworker as she went to put them away in the area I was standing. I work retail. I understand the frustration of dealing with returns, especially when it's several items, i was apologetic through the whole thing. I so rarely complain about anything, but the treatment I faced was so off putting that I no longer wish to shop there as a whole despite how much I usually enjoy the store. At least have the decency to wait until someone leaves. read more

First of all when I walked in I didn't think I was in a BIG LOTS. It's been a couple of years since I'd been here. Last time was a typical messy store. This place must be under new management. It was clean and organized and friendly staff. I've been in Corp retail management all my career. Reciently retired. So I've been trained to notice everything. I get no kick backs & nothing to gain from this review. I know all to often, companies get awful and sometimes uncalled for bad reviews but when I have a good experience I will be the first to give recognition. This staff has been trained well! That starts at the top, so kudos to top management. I was asked several times by hard working staff that still stopped and asked if I needed help. ( mind you this was at 4:30 pm ) by this time a store is usually torn up & shopped. So a piece of furniture catches my eve and SCOTT B. comes over to me & I ask if there is stock on this item. There was not. So I moved on. See something else that works better. This guy was over the top friendly & knowledgeable about the entire store. He reminded me of myself @ his age. Lol( a good thing) so again he goes to the back and indeed he has it. Brings it up to the front for me. The cashier that checked me out was very friendly and signed me up for the rewards card that SCOTT B told me about. Not sure of her name but C1766001 is on my receipt. When I brought back the dolly I noticed something else. SCOTT B helped me again. I checked out again and Terry #C1650433 helped me w/ the same excellent customer service. I hear he is the Asst Mgr. I thought maybe it was a fluke that he just felt sorry for me and was overly helpful. Lol. I noticed that kid stopped what ever he was doing for every customer he came in contact with. Customer service w/very high standards. I know this comes from with-in so I'm not giving BIG LOTS much credit, because I shop your store off & on over the years. ***Just a warning to the higher ups, if I was a recruiter or owned my own company still I'd have recruited this guy before you know what hit you. He will make some company look very good & profitable!!! * I purchased a Kitchen pantry & 84" deco Shepard. *** There was another guy & gal glued to the desk back in the furniture dept that never acknowledged me even though I walked past them several times. Ordered 2 items online early morning for same day delivery, after I purchased the items I received a call from delivery stating they were unable to deliver until 2 more days not same day as advertised. I asked what happened with the same day as advertised delivery I was told they were backed up & couldn't get to me until 2 days later although frustrated I just wanted my things so I re-scheduled even though I've already paid for same day delivery. While delivering my items they damaged my car by with deep scratches by dragging the dresser along the back bumper while moving it with the dolly, not only that when I opened the box my dresser was damaged the 2 legs were crushed & the top wood piece was split, I couldn't see it until I pulled the whole piece out. When i looked back on my home security camera it showed the delivery company dropping my item & handling it rough (no wonder it was smashed & split) When I asked why did she damage my car she said it was her husband fault he Should've delivered not her. I was so upset she damaged my vehicle & my product & when I asked her who's gonna pay for the damages she told me to call customer service. At this point I'm livid so she leaves (in a huury)I call Big Lots they set me up with customer service but I have not received a call yet. I believe this was false advertisement of SAME DAY DELIVERY bait, I wouldn't have purchased these items but i wanted to take advantage of a great deal the NEVER EXISTED. Buyer beware of the SAME DAY DELIVERY bait, go get it yourself. Now I have a damaged car & dresser thanks to some incompetent people. I hope I can resolve this issue with them but I feel I will get the run around for a while‍ I will keep you posted on how things turn out read more

Its a Hit & Miss at this Big Lots this Holiday Season, The store was clean down some isles & Dirty & Messy down others, a BIG NONO is that a lot of products had NO PRICE, Well in My book that means lots of Missed sales coz who has time to take a handful of items to get a price check, this store lost money on me coz I would of bought more if they had prices on them. The $3.50 Soap was pricey you can go next door 99cent store & get the same stuff for .99 cents, Now the Holiday Section was 50% OFF & many of the shelfs were EMPTY. only one reg. Yesterday I placed a curb-side order, I got a e-mail that said my order was ready for pick-up. I went to the store and called as requested for curb pick-up and after three/four attempts nobody could find my order. I cancelled my order after waiting in handicap parking for someone that new what they were doing, after passing it around to 3 - 4 people. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO CURB-SIDE SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR GAS. read more

I unabashedly love you Big Lots. For the quality 8-piece queen bed-in-a bag at a mere 35 bucks. For the huge paintings that are at least 99 bucks elsewhere, and are a measly 30 with you. And those fabulous cherry wood fireplaces, perfect for the chilly nights ahead. Sure, you carry a popular hair care line's shampoo and not the conditioner. Wandered into the store because the traffic heading into Walmart was nuts. Couldn't find what I wanted. I ran into Joseph who works for Big Lots. Not sure if he is a Manager. He did treat me like he owned the store. Walked me to what I was looking for in 3 separate sections. As I was heading to the one register that was open which had a line of just 2 people, Joseph opened a register and called me over. Big Lots is a store that sells only closeout items.Which means the selection is often pot luck, but you can find some great deals depending on what you are looking for. I usually go to this store right before I go to the 99 Cents Only store next door. They tend to have name brand stuff that is recognizable, but sometimes they have weird stuff you've never heard of like Dirt McGirt Rap Snacks. They sell furniture here now too, like couches and the like. If I don't find something here, I'll usually go to the 99 Cents store next door. read more

Rude customer service, not a store you go to on the regular. Do NOT come here for furniture! I've purchased furniture on amazon that has outlived the furniture I purchased here. I've had my bed and couch for less than a year and my mattress has had a spring sticking out of it for almost 4 months now! The couch was thrown out 6 months ago because the wooden planks had just caved and we barely used it anyways but everything is just so cheaply made I wish I had gone somewhere else. I've called the store to see if I had a warranty and they just give me the run around having to call all these other numbers. They even gave me the number for serta mattress and after calling them they said big lots doesn't even carry their merchandise and they even wondered why big lots sent me to them! This location was much better back when it was still a Pic N Save. It was still nice for a few years after the transition, but no it is in desperate need of new management. There is a really tall guy there, I think he is the Assistant Manager, he is terrible, he need to go big time, and fast. His attitude stinks, and he is lazy and slow. He feels like he is too good for his job, and he acts accordingly. The selection of tools and housewares, as well as the electronics section, has really taken a dip. Not to mention their prices are a little too high a this point. Especially since this location is right next door to a 99 cent store. Where you can get many of the same items much cheaper. All in all you can still find a bargain on random wines and beers, and a few snacks that are very odd, like buffalo meat chili. So that is always nice, unless you are a vegetarian, in which case, they do sell crackers... Final Opinion - A nice place to find an occasional bargain, but look out for the grumpy white giant with dark hair. He is too cool for you. Trust him. read more

My sister and my niece were shopping tonight in your store. We went to big lots and niece Tianna had three scratcher lottery tickets in her jacket pocket. So we were by the beds looking at them and they fell out. She noticed she didn't have them and called the store. They said no didn't find anything. She goes up there the manager tells her no but she saw them in the trash.. He scratched all her tickets and gives them to her like O well. She threw them back at him. This is unacceptable, I've never seen such mistreatment of a customer in your store. We are going to be complaining to both the Store Manager and the corporate offices. read more

This location is looking a bit run down and grimy these days, but their deals still can't be beat. It is hit or miss, but I can usually find many of the household items on my list at much lower prices than regular retail stores. They also carry expensive wines and cosmetic items at over half off. If you have the time (and patience) it is worth while to stop here before hitting the bigger stores (Walmart, Target, etc.) to see if they have any of the items on your list. They also carry a wide assortment of holiday items for every occasion. read more

My mom needed a recliner because she is having shoulder surgery, so a friend suggested she try Big Lots Thanksgiving day day. Long story short, she ended up buying two, and the sales Manger gave her a $40 'like cash' coupon on her next purchase between November 30th and December 4th. Well she went and they wouldn't take their own coupon, the they now said she had to spend $200 that day on a purchase to get $40 off....it's the principal of the matter, such BS get it together big lots and stop hiring assholes. read more

Usually great prices. I had an experience where a young male employee rung up my item twice and the assist manager handled my case. There was some difficulty getting my refund. However, when I had a return since then. She was able to help me to my liking. It just always take a long time. She seems really cool with her employees. They seem to really like her. Love this place. I go to this location quite often. the employees there are very nice. Some of my favorite things to get here are paper/plastic goods (coffee cups, paper towels, paper plates) the prices are unbeatable!!! most of my kitchen and bedding comes from big lots and target. And the epielle makeup remover wipes are my favorite (hypoallergenic, non comedogenic, removes waterproof mascara) I have bought these for years and will always buy these! it's a steal 1$ for 30 & 2$ for 60 makeup remover wipes. So gentle I use them to clean my hands my dogs eyes and paws. read more

We recently purchased a floor model - Gazebo - from this store. They let us know that they were going to take it down and would call us when we could come pick it up (which was a few days and they assured us that there would be no parts missing). We got the Gazebo home set it up, we had hooks missing, netting missing, and a center hook for lighting missing. We call the store and talk to the store Manager "Thomas" and let him know what was going on and he listened to me rant on the phone. He offered me 10% discount or I could return the Item. I told him I liked the product, I just wanted the cost to order the missing parts online. He said he would check with his Manager and get back to me. A day or two had passed and I was already prepared to take down the Gazebo and take it back. We received a call from "THOMAS" the Store Manager, who explained to us that he searched and called other stores to make sure that he could find our missing pieces and sure enough he did! This post should have less stars because of the missing items, but I am giving 4 stars because of the outstanding service I received from this Big Lots-Murrieta. they worked altogether as a team (including Amber-Nicole who dismantled our Gazebo, and Mariah who was so patient with us). read more

I used to love Big Lots. I am a long time customer back when they were Pic n Sav. They are more expensive still but this store is just not worth going into. I feel like I'm slumming when I happen in there just to see what they have. I turn around and walk out. I haven't been in for about a year until the other day I wandered in.
