My favorite booth by Road Trip seemed almost more of an art experience in itself, than a destination, picnic baskets, blankets, and pie. Some other favorites are the custom suits and the earrings made from bathing suits and they are waterproof! The VW Van and cars were fab and fitting for the day, the one side silver, one side gold marijauna earrings were a crack up and we picked up an acid dyed fedora from the 70's for my husband. And he hates vintage shopping. What a fun find. I think we missed the vinyl. They may have been playing it vs selling it. If you wanted you could pay $8 and make a macrame key chain on-site. And for $60 get a VIP ticket for Peltzer wine, a cocktail bar, a lunch ticket and a private lounge area with tents for shelter. All could attend free. The market offers amazing food trucks, fun photo backdrops, music, and even a VIP area that you can purchase tickets to before the event. Definitely plan to come early, chill, and bring your spending money because there are so many amazing vintage goodies. Although most of it is clothing, there are definitely home goods, kids items, and all kinds of other accessories too. The entire vibe is just so cool and retro. Sunset Market occurs every 2nd and 4th Thursday, with different food, crafts, and niche vendors. We wanted something to drink so stopped by Special Lemonade, a cute pink food truck. The lemonade was actually a limeade and per the owner, I tried her favorite: guava. It was refreshing, delicious, and the guava flavor was just right! There's also sugar free options too, so even for the calorie or health conscious foodie, Special Lemonade has options for you. The market itself wasn't the largest, smaller compared to the weekend farmers market that also occurs weekly in Old Town. I don't think it's worth a drive just to attend but if you happened to be in the area like we were, it was a nice stroll to see what local businesses are in our area and support them as well.

I went in without many expectations and ended up spending quite a bit of time browsing. We didn't buy anything this visit since we wanted to get a feel for what it was all about, but we're already planning our next trip. There's plenty of free parking, and admission is free too--which, in this economy, is definitely a win! We love that it's so close to home, and it's been a long time since we've come across something like this in the area. We'll definitely be back in July before school starts again!

It can almost be like a treasure hunt looking for that special item that calls out to you! Even if you aren't looking for something specific, you might find something that is awesome (to you anyway). There is definitely a wide variety of stuff, from vintage clothing, to old car emblems, home decor, old business signs, and toys that, depending on your age, might make you remember the good old days. Prices can be a bit high, and some vendors will haggle, but this isn't really the kind of market where you get an amazing deal. Most people know what they have and know the market for their stuff. Vendors are still friendly though and will chat about what they have. Located in the old Laguna Hills parking lot, it has about 10-12 rows of vendors that are about 50 yards long. Last time we went there was an agua fresca stand but no food vendors. Even though it's in a parking lot, parking can be a challenge so be prepared. Everything is under construction as the mall is closed down and the buildings are empty so people kind of just park wherever. All that said, this can make for a great weekend activity to get out and walk around. Though it is infinitely better in the morning when it is less crowded and cooler outside! Being in a parking lot there is no shade and things heat up quickly in the afternoon. Overall, a solid local experience, especially if you like flea markets.

It's put on by Sarah from Cameo Appearance Vintage and she brings together the best vintage suppliers. Everything you see has been curated and is in top condition. The vendors are friendly, there is a DJ spinning great music and you may even see lots of vintage influencers such as Beth Jones from B. Jones Style or Annette from A Vintage Splendor.

Local vendors gathered in a tucked away spot in encinitas. There's a good selection of used…read moreclothing, crystals, and all sorts of trinkets and jewelry you'd expect at a pop-up market. It's very cute to stop by when I'm in the area visiting some local place in Encinitas. It's a little hard to find parking off the strip, but honestly, it's normally such a nice walk that it's hardly a bother to walk to. Dog friendly (with well-behaved owners) as are most places along the coast, and the vendors are normally sweet small business owners.
