Was giving an option to have just far sided contact and wear readers. Thought I would try. Hate it. Called the office, told the doctor is only in on Friday's between 2-6. Had to wait a week to go back and get my bifocals prescription. Had no sample contacts to wear. Have to wait another week to get contacts. The doctor did not know which contact should go in which eye. He told me to try one on each eye and see how it works. Then switch the contacts to the other eyes. To test again. Never been asked this before. Thought the doctor would know which contact would go in which eye. Then he asked me, me, which one of my eyes was my dominant eye. He had my chart in his hand. I looked at him and told him how do I know. Isn't that your f----ing job. Worse experience ever. The walmart store was dirty. The employees wearing knit caps. The whole place was disgusting. Will never go back. Now I have made another appt. w/ my regular doctor to get my prescription correct. Having to call the Vision Center to put a halt on building my glasses based off the prescription from the Walmart doctor because I do not trust his prescription and these glasses cost to much to have the incorrect prescription. So if you want to pay twice for your eye exam go to the Walmart doctor and then, like me, head right back to my regular doctor. What a costly mistake. And terrible experience at Walmart.

The service was quick, smooth, and handled with care, but what really stood out was his positive energy. In the middle of a busy day, that kindness mattered. And the third person paged the store, about 10 minutes Jemina the store manager came out and said " my staff should have told you no one will be here until 5pm." By this time there were 7 of us waiting, I said, "as a store manager you can't process these returns?" She said no, but you can come back. I said, "well I won't be back to this location." As I was leaving there were no associates ringing up people it was self checkout totally. It was just a bad overall experience. Very bad. I'm used to a lot, but this was just not an experience from Walmart stores that I expected. Hopefully this was an exception, but signs saying CS is closed until 5pm would have shut this down immediately. Hopefully the stores can be equipped with this. I don't want anyone going through that experience. Thankfully my neighborhood store in Kernersville took much better care of me as a customer.

They have VERY Limited suit/dressy section for men. If that's your purpose, do not come to Macys, at least at this location. You'll have better luck somewhere else. We legit was like "that's it?". We even asked an employee to be sure. Clearly, we didn't find what we were looking for. Upstairs, they have Macy's Backstage, which is essentially like a discount area. There was hand sanitizer available by the escalators. I did notice that the escalators were narrow. While simply just browsing, someone did ask if he needed any help, which he didn't. Backstage has a BUNCH of stuff. So, I would definitely recommend going there FIRST before shopping in the regular area. Ultimately, we left and went to another store to continue the search.

There was a time when Macy's, Nordstrom, Saks, etc. were about on par with each other. That time…read morehas passed. Clothing is always strewn everywhere, shelves are disorganized, and the words "neat and tidy" have no connection to this retailer. Imagine shelves of stacked shirts; someone pulls one out from the bottom, opens it up, and then shoves it back on top of the stack wadded up. No,w repeat that with the next one on the bottom, etc., and that is pretty much how the shelves are. The racks are the same, with stuff on the floors, hanging over the top of the racks, hanging by one end of a hanger, etc. Even the jewelry and watches in cases are not neat or aligned. Finding an employee here is like panning for gold in the Pacific Ocean, which is probably why nobody is around to clean things up. Finding a cashier is even more challenging than that. And when you do find an open cashier, expect silly lines. On this visit, there was a place with 3 cash registers but only 1 cashier and 9 people in line in front of us. Macy's is trying to emulate WalMart and doing a fine job. The only reason we stayed in line was that our granddaughter ate a bite of a lollipop so we needed to pay for it. We have stopped going to Macy's; this was the last time we went to one. Pretty much the only thing you find there now is store brands and clutter. You are better off going to Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, or smaller stores like Black Market, White House, Ann Taylor, Talbot's, etc. Two stars and sadness at what this brand has become.

I rang the button for help twice, and no one came. When employees did come by, they didn't have access to open the case. I waited for a total of 15 minutes, and no one ever came. In my early years at Community Theatre of Greensboro, Melanie Ketner came on the board of…read moredirectors. Turned out she was married to Robert Ketner whose family found Food Lion. That's how I first came to know about this very successful and moderately priced and accessible grocery store chain. You can see Food Lions everywhere you go. My brother lived in Salisbury so he knew firsthand about the Ketner family and the hometown of Food Lion. My Mom, may she rest in peace, used to call it the Hungry Lion. She had a nickname for everything! Of all the Food Lions I have visited over the years since I moved to North Carolina in 1989, the one that has stolen my heart is the Food Lion by Cornwallis and Church Street. It is definitely my go-to when I need a few things and don't want to schlep or pay the price of Harris teeter. I love hopping in my car in my ugliest clothes and taking the quick less than 5-minute ride up Yanceyville, make a left on Cornwallis and there she is on the right. How many times have I made that trip? Food Lion at Cornwallis Shopping Center has everything you need. It's my go-to for my basics like almond milk, sugar-free, chocolate pudding, diet Coke, and high fiber low calorie English muffins. Sometimes I've enjoyed their produce. I just bought a honeydew there the other day. Waited a few days and put it in the fridge. And oh my God is it sweet and delicious. I also bought a bunch of grapes the other day that are terrific. I must confess, I am one of those people that pops a few grapes in my mouth before I'm willing to lay down $6 for a bag. I always wonder if one of these days security is going to catch me on camera and address the issue with me at checkout. So far so good! LOL Their Lean grounded turkey is much cheaper than anywhere else and if you buy what is on sale, you can get some really good stuff at a really good price. Although most people I run into there are strangers to me, I will occasionally find another colleague or friend "slumming it" on the "dl" and running up and down the aisles of Food Lion for convenience and price. I enjoy the uniqueness of Trader Joe's, the great prices at Aldi's, the lush and abundant options at Harris Teeter and the ability at Walmart to get your groceries and some clothes on the same trip, but when all the said and done, it is the Food Lion at Cornwallis that gets most of my business. Never underestimate the value of proximity, convenience and price! Next time you go and you see this Jewish guy walking around with a baseball cap and glasses and gray sweats, that's me! Say "hey" and I'll sneak you a grape!!
