I said, "No, I am going to get the correct size and then get in line". At least the girl that walked up said, " Yes, sure. That makes sense". So that is what I did, finding 2 more things to buy before I got to the register. The poor girl could not even do an exchange. She had to call someone to help her. The item had been marked down from 2 days ago. I DIDN'T CARE! It was an even exchange. Pull your head out and use some common sense! The really wonderful part? They wanted to scan my driver's license! FOR WHAT? Because they needed to prove that I wasn't someone trying to scam them. Say, what? I am very happy to take my business to Kohl's or Ross. I spent over $200 in the store in the last few days but I will betcha that Kohl's won't have a problem taking it. Poor little girls ( the check out girl needed help and called someone else), common sense has not invaded their minds. They are happy to just follow corporate policies that don't make sense. No idea about invasion of privacy or corporate having too much information and big brother mentality. These girls are the future of the world, going along to get along. Too bad Maxx. You just lost a good customer.

When I asked for help, one employee rudly directed me to the photo department, where I was then told by another employee that it wasn't her responsibility. Both employees were very rude and made it seem like helping me was an inconvenience. After the employee finally handed me the pack of pens, I couldn't help but think about how ineffective the whole system felt. If the purpose of locking them up is to prevent theft, what's stopping someone from just walking off with the item once it's been handed to them? As per usual, the inventory in these discount stores is ever-changing - walk in one day, find…read morecertain items, come back the next and those items will be gone and there'll be new ones in their place. The ever-changing inventory and set-up are similar to those of TJ Maxx and Burlington. However, I find Ross probably to be the least extravagant of the 3. This store tends to be messier, has longer lines, the quality of clothing is a little less acceptable, bathrooms are often locked [which is annoying], and sometimes there is an unpleasant smell inside. With that being said, if you take the time to look through the racks of clothing, you're sure to find something exceptional, and at a reduced price! I used to go here all the time for socks. I could get 5 3-packs for under $30. And the brand was Under Armour. This store can get crowded relatively fast, so come early in the morning. That's when I've noticed there are only handfuls of customers in the store. Service is excellent. I've returned clothes here before that just didn't work for me without hassle or interrogations. And the good news is that they'll accept a return even if you bought it from a Ross in a different city. Hold on to your receipt, please.
