This shop got me in and assessed my vehicle's warning light so quickly. During that assessment…read moreservice I decided to get my oil changed because their prices were reasonable. Also, the customer service was great as both gentleman in the office were kind and informative of what to do the next time I encounter warning lights and let me know what repairs on my vehicle could wait for a bit. Fair prices. Nice staff. Not a bad wait time on vehicle. One thing to note there's not really a waiting area at this shop but the location is only a 8 min walk from a great coffee shop and the library where you can spend time until your vehicle is finished. I would highly recommend coming here to get your vehicle inspected and worked on.

Update: the owner Mike contacted me and looked into the situation. He stated that the mechanic who…read moredid the work on my vehicle no longer works for him and Mike is refunding me the cost of having to put the second set of pads on as well as the entire cost of the caliper that never should have been put on the car in the first place. I find it ironic that the owner Mike states in his history blurb that he started the shop because he was tired of seeing people get ripped off, well that's exactly how I feel, ripped off by Sanderson Automotive. I thought we were doing a good thing by trying to support a local mechanics shop when my Focus, that I had been taking to Ricart for service for years needed new brake rotors and pads. I will say that Sanderson got us in quickly, but then also found that we needed a new battery and they stated that the lug nuts on the wheels were swollen and needed replaced, so that's also a lie when they state that they don't "find" things that need replaced on your car, they do. So this was a $986 bill. The very next day when I was driving to work the car was making a horrible scraping noise, as if i were dragging a sheet of metal behind the car. So I called them and they did get me in the same day to look at the car. By the time I had left work early to get this issue looked at the car had stopped making the noise, so naturally they didn't find anything. Next, a few weeks later the car started making a horrible rattling noise every time I went over the smallest bump. So once again I have to take my car back to them and they said this time that it was the brake caliper over retracting and causing it to rattle. The noise definitely came from the rear passenger side, and when they diagnosed the problem they asked if i wanted to have both calipers replaced. I said no because it was already going to be $371, and why would I replace something that wasn't broke? Sure enough within two days of having the caliper replaced the same exact noise was coming from the driver side of the car. At this point this all seems far too coincidental, the manager, Josh, that I had been dealing with the entire time, stated that there was no harm in driving with the car like this as it was not a safety issue. So by this point I'm tried of having my car into their shop, so I just let it go for a while. We finally decide it's time to have the issue taken care of so we take the car back to Ricart, at this point I don't trust Sanderson. I explained to Ricart what they had previously done to the car and after their inspection they called and said that there was nothing wrong with the brake caliper, and that whoever had installed my brake pads last time forgot to put the anti-rattle clips on the pads. Sure enough two days later and not a single rattling noise. So at this point I have had brake pads installed on the car twice in six months and a caliper replaced for no reason and I'm out $679 and hours of my time because of Sanderson's incompetence. Also, we were contacted by the owner, Mike, via text a few months ago about how our experience was and we mentioned that it was not good and we have received no response. As of writing this we also called and left a voicemail asking for them to call us and explain why they didn't installed the clips and then missed it a second time when I went back and they decided to charge us for a caliper. It has been two days with no response. In summary, Sanderson's will be happy to take your money, charge you for things you don't need and never call you back. Save yourself they hassle and don't patronize them.

Tires were rotated, but tire pressure was not checked. Front had 29 psi and rear were at 30 psi. Also no sticker was placed on windshield denoting the next service. Old sticker left on. This is the second time I have had an issue with technicians doing their job. hopefully they actually did an oil change. I purchased new tires on for this vehicle at this location so that is why I'm doing my oil changes and tire there on a 5000 mile. I may just have to start doing only my tire rotations and staying there to make sure that it's done and do my oil changes elsewhere.

Tire discounters told her after inspection that the pads were fine and the brakes just needed to be cleaned and greased. I thought great, until they told her the price, $330 dollars to grease brakes. So I asked about their hourly rate apparently the hourly rate is over 180 dollars. These employees do not make enough if this is what the hourly rate is! Just to be sure I wasn't missing anything I asked the employee what the cost of having new pads purchased and installed on a different vehicle $275 is what I am told. With this logic, why am I paying more for no hardware? I have done brakes before and charging customers $330 for no actual pads replaced and 1.2 hours of work has me shocked. If this is the way that business is conducted here I will never be back and I caution everyone else, unless you are purchasing tires stay far away from this establishment. Also to the employees of tire discounters, I know I said this before but I will say it again, you need to unionize, if you are not making over $90/hour your employer is cheating you. They are charging customers double this and you are getting nothing in return.

I was quoted 224 dollars for the service, and was told it would be done by 1:00. The assistant manager Hunter then told me at 1:15 (they only started working in my vehicle at 1:00) that they could not repair my tire as "someone has already repaired it," (which is untrue as I've only had the tire less than a year and have never had it repaired) and that I needed to buy another new tire. So now I've had to pay 450 dollars. I had to wait another hour for my vehicle to be completed. Once I got back in the vehicle, my tire pressure light was on, and my dash said "tire pressure monitor system maintenance required." When I came this morning, I had no lights or warnings on my dash. The service tech (I believe his name was Titus) then lied to me, saying that he had to "re-learn" the tire pressure sensors to the car, and that the passenger side rear tire pressure sensor was dead. I told him this was impossible, as I had them replaced in January of this year at the dealership. The assistant manager Hunter then checked my vehicle, and told me that the service tech (Titus?) never "re-learned" the sensors to the vehicle, and that he had to do it himself! TLDR: This Discount Tire will overcharge you, lie to you, avoid any accountability, and disrespect your time. Go anywhere but here.

The parking lot is easy to get into, and if you're sitting around for your service, there's enough comfortable spots to be a happy camper until it's done. (Just bring something to entertain yourself. The TV is generally not that exciting.) They have an indoor waiting room with a TV (usually with news) and 5-7 chairs in a semi-circle. (Can't remember the exact amount). All of the chairs have arms, and there's usually a person or two waiting when I drop my car off. PROS: -They've always been pretty good about appointment estimations. Usually my repairs are done slightly earlier than expected, but they've never gone very-far over the time they say it will take them to get it done. -If we don't want to wait around, they've always been able accept my car earlier in the day and have things done for me by the end of the day if we'd rather not sit around and actively wait. -Available restroom for waiting customers. It isn't like some small mechanics without a bathroom unless you hunt down a mechanic and specifically ask. This one has a customer-facing restroom for while you wait. -Most of our appointments can be made for next-day - or within the next few days - for small things. We don't have to plan weeks in advance. CONS: -Not much of anything! I wish there were more exciting things within walking distance (to entertain myself during car visits), but that's certainly not a fault of the business.
